WWE 2019 Draft Reax

Read on for my thoughts on both nights of WWE's 2019 Draft.
-- Night One:
- Raw gets Becky Lynch:
I mean, yeah, the Raw Women's Champion staying on Raw makes sense. I figured FOX would want her since she was in the commercials, so we'll see what they get in return.

- Smackdown gets Roman Reigns:
Makes sense. I'm curious how many people will actually switch sides.

- Raw gets The OC:
Ha. Already taking advantage of being able to pick the whole group. Heyman's going to continue his work with them.

- Smackdown gets The Fiend:
Now this will be an intriguing change. There will be the obvious temptation to put him with Rowan and Harper again.

- Raw gets Drew McIntyre:
I hope he can be a big player.

- Raw gets Randy Orton:
Another nice change of pace.

- Smackdown gets Sasha Banks:
That's a bit surprising since she just arrived on Raw, but clearly she's not beating Becky so maybe she'll have a chance to beat Charlotte.

- Raw gets Ricochet:
Nice. Nice. Heyman can continue what he's doing with him.

- Smackdown gets Braun Strowman:
Curious how he'll do there, and now the entire Family is back together.

- Raw gets Bobby Lashley:
Again, not a shock with how Heyman just reintroduced him.

- Raw gets Alexa Bliss:
Oh wow! So much for the teaming with Nikki(?). That's a shame. They're fun together.

- Smackdown gets Lacey Evans:
Interesting. I wonder how they'll use her.

- Smackdown gets The Revival:
Makes perfect sense given the title they hold.

- Raw gets Natalya:
So, yes, that feus with Lacey is over.

- Raw gets the Viking Raiders:
Really, no surprises here.

- Smackdown gets Lucha House Party:
Not sure what that means for 205 Live, if anything, since they'll be available on the same night.

- Raw gets Nikki Cross:
But... why do them separately if you want both???

- Smackdown gets Heavy Machinery:
Mixed feelings on this one, but maybe they can get a consistent direction now.

- Raw gets Street Profits:
Sssssoooooo…. are they leaving NXT? Did they need to be drafted as non-wrestlers???

- Night One Free Agents:
Akira Tozawa
The B-Team
Cesaro
Drew Gulak
EC3
Eric Young
Heath Slater
Humberto Carrillo
Shorty Gable
Sin Cara
Tamina
It was naïve to expect WWE to have plans for EVERYONE. Honestly this is probably preferable than putting them on one show arbitrarily. Maybe something will come of some of it. I'm guessing the cruiserweights will just stay on 205 Live and WWE will wait until they have a reason to use some of the others.

-- Additional Night One Picks:
- Smackdown gets Apollo Crews:
I really, really hope they start using him. He's a great talent and he just can't get momentum going.

- Smackdown gets Drew Gulak:
I hope he can do something meaningful. He's been really impressive in 205 Live, but it's going to be tough to stand out with bigger wrestlers around.

- Raw gets EC3:
Honestly I'm about ready for him to move back to NXT if he's not going to do anything significant. Another talent with a lot of potential lost in the shuffle. Maybe, MAYBE something will happen now.

- Raw gets Eric Young:
A solid veteran hand. I want to see more from him.

- Smackdown gets Heath Slater:
Honestly I'd love to see him in NXT. I don't expect him to do much on Smackdown.

- Raw gets Sin Cara:
Eh. We'll see what comes of it.

- Smackdown gets Tamina:
I don't think I'd mind her moving to NXT, either. There are some really talented women in WWE. She's not doing much of anything and I don't think anyone's excited to see what she does next.

- Smackdown gets The B-Team:
Two fun workers. I hope they get more TV time now.

- Remaining Night One Free Agents:
Akira Tozawa
Cesaro
Humberto Carrillo
Shorty Gable

I really hope for Cesaro's sake they're setting up a Bar return and that's why he's still on the board. Gable could do an angle where he has to win over one set of executives to draft him, which would hopefully make him meaningful. The cruiserweights aren't really a surprise. I'd rather them be meaningfully incorporated somewhere other than Raw or Smackdown than just thrown on one of those shows.

-- Night Two:
- Raw gets Seth Rollins:
I mean, yeah. Can't say we didn't see that coming.

- Smackdown gets Brock Lesnar:
No surprise at all.

- Raw gets Charlotte Flair:
Well there's why she lost to Bayley. I guess a new environment won't hurt. I do think they can only move her so many places and turn her so many times before it loses meaning.

- Smackdown gets New Day:
I REALLY wonder where Kofi goes from here. And it looks like they are staying together for now.

- Raw gets Andrade and Zelina Vega:
So, initially these two were listed separately for some reason. They're sticking together for now at least.

- Raw gets the Kabuki Warriors:
PLEASE tell me they matter more on Raw.

- Smackdown gets Daniel Bryan:
He can be a key player there.

- Raw gets Rusev:
I hope he can get momentum going.

- Smackdown gets Bayley:
Well yeah, duh.

- Raw gets Aleister Black:
Completely expected. Heyman's been behind his work thus far.

- Raw gets Cedric Alexander:
Heyman getting all of his boys together.

- Smackdown gets Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn:
Not a surprise.

- Raw gets Humberto Carrillo:
Oh wow. Wouldn't have called that one. Especially on TV.

- Smackdown gets Ali:
PLEASE USE THIS MAN NOW. Another man pushed aside for Brock and Cain.

- Raw gets Erick Rowan:
OK, I REALLY didn't see that one coming. Curious where this leaves Harper.

- Raw gets Buddy Murphy:
Works for me. He deserves a push.

- Smackdown gets Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler:
Can't say that was unexpected after their loss. Hopefully they get momentum going again.

- Raw gets Jinder Mahal:
Yeah they're filling space now.

- Smackdown gets Carmella:
We'll see what's next for her.

- Raw gets R-Truth:
OH NOOOOOOOOO. RIP the Truth/Carmella team.

- Raw gets Samoa Joe:
This could be good.

- Smackdown gets The Miz:
A little surprising with Miz's show on USA.

- Raw gets Akira Tozawa:
Damn they really are splitting up 205 Live.

- Smackdown gets King Corbin:
Poor guy isn't very in demand as King.

- Raw gets Shelton Benjamin:
Maybe now he can get something going.

- Raw gets Rey Mysterio:
I guess Rey vs. Brock is off the table right now. That's probably good for Dominick.

- Smackdown gets Shorty Gable:
Man I don't see things going better for him. Heyman can't save everyone.

- Raw gets Titus O'Neil:
Honestly probably filling space on Main Event.

- Smackdown gets Elias:
I'm curious what he does next.

- Raw gets Liv Morgan:
Wow Raw's filling up their division.

Remaining Night Two Free Agents:
AOP
Cesaro
Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder
Dana Brooke
Drake Maverick
Fire & Desire
Luke Harper
Mojo Rawley
No Way Jose
Sarah Logan

AOP will be fine. This actually plays right into their gimmick. I hope Harper lands somewhere meaningful, and that Mandy and Sonya get added to the Smackdown women's division. Everyone else is going to fill time on live events.

-- The Bump:
- Raw gets No Way Jose:
Main Event bound. Not much to see here.

- Raw gets Mojo Rawley:
Also probably headed to Main Event.

- Raw gets Sarah Logan:
Man, I really hope she can do something meaningful. She's probably also Main Event bound, though.

- Raw gets The IIconics:
Ehhhhhh. I'm glad we've had a break from them. Maybe Raw will do something different with them, though.

- Raw gets Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins:
Business as usual for these two, filling space on the card.

- Smackdown gets Luke Harper:
Weird with Rowan moving to Raw. They were doing something fresh together. MAYBE he'll do something of note.

- Smackdown gets Cesaro:
Another guy who can theoretically do something of note. Time will tell. Smackdown needs someone with Heyman's level of care for talents.

- Smackdown gets Fire & Desire:
Yeah nothing really changes for these two.

- Smackdown gets Drake Maverick:
A bit surprising if 205 Live's time is running out. I guess he could be a manager.

- Smackdown gets Dana Brooke:
Well that ends the feud with Sarah on Main Event! Maybe she can find herself on her new home.

More wrestling coming up.
