Read on for my thoughts on last night's Impact Wrestling.
I'm handing it to TNA for planning something long-term to declare a new champion. Although they didn't have too much of a choice.
I couldn't care much less about Robbie E vs. the NFL guy if it doesn't actually lead to a match (or at least an appearance). Why give the NFL any hype at TNA's expense?
- Matt Hardy vs. Davey:
Davey can do moves like no one's business. If he did fewer of them and slowed down, he could really be good.
Not a bad match at all! I kind of hope this ends with Matt winning the title again.
Storm vs. Roode should be quite great. I guess we'll still be seeing the former Revolution leader after all!
- King vs. O'Shea:
This roundtable thing is kind of meh, but I like the idea behind it.
Can King be a future ROH Tag Team Champion AND the next TNA Champion?
I liked EY's promo. Great talent.
Richards is bland as all get-out. Maybe he's just a robot programmed to do a bunch of crazy moves?
- EY vs. Abyss:
I like how EY is fine with attacking the larger opponent even though he's a heel. We have enough chicken heels.
EY's pretty enjoyable as a wrestler. If TNA's going down, NXT needs to call him up.
Not a bad match overall. Abyss is good in the right role.
Fine EC3 promo. He's been a bright spot in TNA for a while now.
I liked Abyss' promo. He can be useful going forward.
- Robbie E vs. Edwards:
Not an awful match by any means. Robbie's not an amazing wrestler, but he does a good enough job. Edwards is quite athletic, but has that ROH problem of now knowing how to put a match together that isn't a ton of spots.
Roode vs. Storm should be a treat. Those two together are magic.
- Steve vs. Shera:
That was about as good as we could expect from these two. Steve did an admirable job working around Shera's weaknesses.
Next week features two big matches. I look forward to them.
- Roode vs. Storm:
Hilarious opening.
Great psychology here.
Ahhh, a trip down memory lane. Enjoyable stuff.
More wrestling tomorrow.
