Read on for my thoughts on last night's Smackdown.
- Ziggler/Miz/Maryse/S. Squad:
Definitely a big moment for Ziggler here.
Same old snarky inside reference making guy. He wonders why he hits a glass ceiling when he does the same shtick.
Miz doing great work as always here.
Miz REALLY fired up.
Miz also no-selling Ziggler trying to throw him under a bus for crying.
Pretty great segment overall. I'm all for Kenny and Mikey seeing how much they can get out of getting heat where they are.
- Kenny/Mikey vs. Ziggler:
I like Miz as the coach for the Squad.
Fine work from the returning (?) stars. I'm fine with them being a lower-level team again.
Good stuff so far.
Funny for Mikey to use Ziggler's sleeper against him.
Pretty solid stuff overall.
Good ending.
- Post-match:
That was pretty good, too. This should be a fun little feud.
- Shane/Bryan:
I'm actually good with having a lot of Raw vs. Smackdown matches at Survivor Series to pad things out so we don't get the same people in pretty much the same matches so often.
- Carmella attacks Nikki:
Umm, Carmella, you got wrecked by Nikki at No Mercy. Do you really want to go through that again?
- Carmella vs. Naomi:
I can't blame Carmella for trying to get an advantage early. She needs all the help she can get.
This is alright; Naomi's definitely showing she's worth using.
Fine ending to continue the Nikki/Carmella feud. I just can't say I'm excited for it to continue.
- Post-match:
Hopefully this wraps up on the November 8 show.
- Alexa/Bryan:
That was fine enough to set up a match next week.
- Jimmy vs. Gable:
I'm liking this action so far.
Gable's talented.
Like, seriously, Gable's good.
That was solid to keep the feud going.
- H. Bros/Ascension:
I guess that was fine to establish those characters and set a match up.
- Styles/Ambrose/Ellsworth/Bryan:
Heel AJ is the best.
I'm glad AJ's getting the ball and running with it.
Ambrose has a point about making AJ tap.
I wish AJ would say he tapped because he knew they'd let the holds go and couldn't win like that, as in it being a brilliant strategy on his part.
James Ellsworth is OVER.
Pretty funny stuff.
- AJ vs. Ellsworth:
This is pretty entertaining so far.
I'm loving the mind games.
They've told a lot of story here without a single "highspot."
Fun stuff.
HAHAHAHAHA Ambrose missing the tap.
This is awesome, as silly as it is.
I'm glad AJ didn't job that quickly.
Fine for what it was.
- Orton/Kane:
I like the interaction between these two and their respective pasts.
- Shane/AJ/Bryan:
It's definitely different to have the face authority figures crew with the heel champ.
- Wyatts promo:
That was good. I've missed the Wyatts as a real force in things.
- Bray/Harper vs. Orton/Kane:
A Kane/Cesaro match would be like 95% uppercuts.
Good fight so far.
I'm liking the back-and-forth. Kane has still got it.
Even more good action here.
Well that was a weird ending. Par for the course, though.
More wrestling coming up.
