Read on for my thoughts on yesterday's Superstars and Hardcore Justice (Impact Wrestling).
Superstars:
Ryder vs. Slater was pretty nice! Both men are progressing nicely.
That was some pretty serious jobbing for PTP (note: this was taped days before Young came out to TMZ, so it couldn't have been "punishment"). Dolph and Kofi make a pretty sweet team. I wouldn't mind them getting a good push and maybe even taking the straps from The Shield down the line. There are certainly worse options for them to lose to (namely Henry/Show - not that those two suck by any means. It just doesn't do them much of any good to get the rub of taking the Titles from The Shield.)
Hardcore Justice:
I think they probably could have gotten "more from less" in the opening contest - it's like there's no warming up period or "downs" in the roller coaster. Just... well, total non-stop action. I admire that they're willing to "go all out". It's just kind of unnecessary, like diving for every catch or something. Anyway; that was fine for moving things along. If AJ's going to win this thing, they need to make him look like... you know, he can actually win it. There's still time and I think they can (will?) do it.
That was a pretty good Sabin promo. I have a bad feeling about where he's going from here.
I suppose that that segment was pretty much necessary to explain Angle's absence and such. It was mostly a good segment. I'm just ready for something new.
That was pretty crazy, and not necessarily in a good way. I now see why the Hardcore Championship isn't a thing anymore. It gets old.
It makes sense for Sting to try to recruit Aries. I'm guessing Hardy or Abyss is the replacement. Watch it be Tito...
Yeah; I'm really tired of Bully and Brooke. It's actually pretty tedious to watch TNA at some points now.
Not a bad segment involving Ortiz. Obviously he's just here because of Bellator, but they're making good use of him.
Well, then. It looks like whatever we're calling Roode/Kazarian/Daniels (Bad It-fluence?) is doing pretty well in rigging the BFG Series in their favor. The match itself was mostly good. I'm just pretty tired of hardcore gimmick matches.
That was a nice Bully/Anderson segment. They have the potential to do something interesting and unexpected tonight.
lolTNA. At least it wasn't Brooke turning heel. The match itself was actually pretty good, and Sabin's protected in the loss. It's possible that they make this up for Sabin in the weeks and months to come, but it's going to take some time for him to reach the level he was at when he won the Title.
More wrestling coming up.
