Kayfabe Commentaries has put together a "Timeline" DVD focusing on the 1960s in the WWWF, with special guest Bruno Sammartino. That should be a really good view. Not nearly as much happened during one year in the 60s compared to all of the shows/news of today. For example: Bruno wrestled 907 recorded matches in his more than 25-year career. It didn't take Cena 10 years to hit that mark.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin gave advice to Daniel Bryan in dealing with his current on-screen problems. I wouldn't mind them rehashing some of the Austin/McMahon segments (Bryan beating up HHH in a hospital, Bryan spraying HHH with some soy milk or something else vegan). Those on paper sounds pretty funny to me.
The Miz did a signing in Des Moines, IA in conjunction with the National Guard ahead of Raw.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
John Cena checked in on his recovery, stitches and all. I'm sure he'll Rise Above Injury again.
TNA announced details for its 2014 UK tour. No mention of Hogan, Sting, Angle, Hardy, Styles, Tito, Rampage, or King Mo despite a lot of those people being big parts of the current TNA product. It might be that Hardy is still barred from going overseas. It will be interesting to see who is and isn't a part of the roster when that show comes around. Also, what about UK's own Blossom Twins, who were signed early this year?
Hulk Hogan was interviewed to promote TNA. He is in the news a lot, so that helps get TNA's name out there. Is he worth how much he gets paid? That's another story altogether.
Edge will be on Raw to promote the new season of "Haven". This is scheduled to be a one-time appearance, which shouldn't be a shock given the state of his neck.
Fandango legitimately broke his nose during his match with Miz. That's not going to help Miz's reputation among those who think he's reckless, etc..
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. A lot of it depends on how far in advance a company plans on the title change. As always, plans can change at the last minute, so Creative might be hesitant to tell someone something only for it to change. As for deciding the outcome of a match, I doubt they ever just send superstars out there without telling them how they want the match to end. That could be a potential problem.
2. Given the state of MEM in TNA (featuring an MMA guy, a wrestler who's likely retiring soon, and a wrestler in rehab), it's probably best that he didn't.
3. I think all of this depends on how you define "superstar". If you define it as someone who's at Cena's levelm then no, they haven't made anyone quite at that level. However, I'd definitely say that Punk, Orton, Batista and Mark Henry hit or are hitting high levels. As for Ryback, he's only 31. He can absolutely be rebuilt into a sustainable main eventer.
4. Well, he's not the President and he doesn't run Talent Relations, so I don't think he's exactly driving the car. He's more of a passenger "riding shotgun" (along with Hogan) and giving directions on where to go. Though Dixie's listening. I guess he's more of a Rasputin than a Tsar.
5. I didn't think it was 100% confirmed that Dixie was at the football game? Either way, she's far from the only one who doesn't want to be at Impact tapings.
More wrestling tomorrow.
