Brie Bella apologized for her wardrobe malfunction on Raw. WWE wasn't too happy with that happening, but it wasn't intentional.
Ultimate Warrior responded to Vince McMahon welcoming him back to WWE. Warrior's always an interesting read. I'd love to see an interview with the two of them like JR did with HBK and Bret.
In case you needed more proof that Daniel Bryan is a Terminator: After Raw, the announced Mark Henry vs. John Cena match saw a Shield run-in. Bryan came out to set things up for a 6-man tag, which Cena, Henry, and Bryan won. It could be the Summer of the Dragon?
WWE and E! are partnering with Make-A-Wish, which they should be commended for.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Daniel Bryan and his glorious hair talked at Comic-Con. That action figure's pretty cool.
Speaking of Bryan, WWE was said to be really happy about the gauntlet segment he was in on Raw. That's good news!
WWE Management made the call to push back Big Show's return (despite advertising it). I could joke that that's also good news, but the argument can be made that as such a veteran and a performer who's held so many titles, he's a valuable part of the promotion.
Jesse Sorensen has been released from TNA. Following a scary neck injury last February, he had been moved into a production role in the company. I believe he's retired as a wrestler, so don't expect him to show up in NXT.
Update: PWInsider.com was none too pleased about him being released after breaking his neck in a TNA ring. A major difference between Vince and Dixie is that Vince has a LOT more money at his disposal. It's a little easier to pay someone for life when you're not facing budget trouble. I doubt this was an easy decision for TNA Management.
Update: Eric Bischoff wished him the best, and Sorensen thanked him for the gesture.
Update: Sorensen asked for help in funding a bodybuilding event.
There was a big meeting backstage at a recent Impact Wrestling taping. Here are the details. I can definitely see where wrestlers are coming from in feeling that it's Management who is "at fault" here. I'm glad that Gaburick is starting off well, though it does sound like he's got a LOT on his plate. I can see how Prichard would be negative (though I'm sure working in an environment like TNA's didn't help him stay positive). As for Bully Ray pulling in strong numbers: while the wedding angle did a big number, Destination X outdrew every show of Bully Ray's title reign, including when he was feuding with certified stars (and former TNA Champions) Jeff Hardy and Sting. But it's always the Attitude Era (or pre-Attitude Era) stars who get credit in TNA...
Update: here are some corrections to the previous story. I'm glad that things weren't too chaotic with Bruce gone.
Jim Ross further clarified his stance on Paige in a post also praising Bryan, Cesaro, and more from Raw. I see where he's coming from, and he has points about being more mature as you age. Paige will be 21 next month for what that's worth.
Mick Foley talked about wrestling, comedy and more. I wish I could have seen him in Asheville last month!
Stone Cold talked about The Shield and John Cena among other things. I can see his remarks about Cena stirring up debate. I respect Stone Cold's opinion here and think that it holds a lot of merit.
Raw's audience was down to 4.01 million this week. Given that they're heavily pushing someone who hasn't had much of a main event presence (compared to some other stars there) and ended the show with such a long wrestling match featuring some people who have been positioned as (let's say) less than main-event worthy (Swagger, Cesaro), that's really good. They didn't need Kane, Jericho, or Big Show to keep the audience over 4 million, either, so that's encouraging. Not that WWE should stop using those names.
Stacy Keibler talked about wrestling, George Clooney, and her new show in a recent interview. It's nice that she's not completely ignoring her wrestling past. Some interesting wrestling stuff talked about.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Maybe you'll have to *gasp* wait and find out! Why does everyone have to know everything RIGHT NOW? Anyway, I think they might give Sabin a chance to get over as Champion. After the big audience jump for his win, they've got to be taking notice. I don't see them stripping him of the Title, but I wouldn't be shocked if Bully gets it back in time for BFG. If Sabin is Champion for 3 months going into BFG, it could be interesting. Don't right him off just yet. As for Magnus, he's pretty good in the ring. He's also British (that's a big audience for TNA) and has a good look. I don't have any problems with him getting pushed. It certainly beats, say, Rob Terry getting pushed.
2. I'm guessing not? They did the media tour and that might be it.
3. Probably because of his character being somewhat cheesy and "SHEAMUSWINSLOL". I bet some of the little Jimmys were happy at the prospect of Sheamus vs. Cena, but the older fans don't care for him as much.
4. Thankfully I don't get nearly that much wrestling-related stuff! Some people out there are really not worth the effort to reply to.
5. SWERVE, BROTHER. I'm thinking that they might explain it next week. It was definitely crazy.
More wrestling tomorrow.
