Bruce Prichard was responsible for talents being licensed. Maybe it is a good thing that he's gone. The question is, though, who is going to take over his responsibilities? He had a number of them and they were all important.
Speaking of Prichards, Bruce's brother Dr. Tom spoke about TNA. Apparently either some trolls or idiots got the two of them confused. He paints a less-than-rosy picture of that company. The time is now to address the problems there. As for FCW not producing any stars, that's laughable. For one, FCW can only train who's been signed and once people graduate from FCW, it's up to WWE Creative and Management to use them properly. So you can't put but so much blame on FCW or its trainers.
ECW's CW Anderson talked for 90 minutes about the entirety of his career. I haven't seen much of him, but supposedly he's one of those guys who could have/should have been a bigger star than he was.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
It's being reported that WWE has changed the name of their October PPV from "Over The Limit" to "Battleground". Because PPV numbers are down because of their names, right? Seriously, I don't think it's a huge deal what the shows are called (outside of the Big 4). Just give us good matches and stories.
JR defended his remarks on NXT's Paige. It sounds like other than her age, it sounds like he's really high on her (as he should be from what I've seen). The IWC seems to be really high on her work and doesn't seem to take anything other than "put her on the main roster right now" well. I think she could very well be "ready" for the main roster by the end of the year, but it's not my call and they do need to consider her age and maturity.
Tommy Dreamer talked about what it takes to be successful in wrestling. No, it's not "do hardcore stuff until the fans chant the name of the promotion". Pay attention! He says a lot of good things. It used to not have to be said that you should learn from your veteran peers. And I think he's right that you never stop learning.
WWE has re-released a Randy Savage T-shirt, which is starting a lot of speculation. If there's any more on this, I'll be sure to report on it.
TNA President Dixie Carter is opening the floodgates and asking fans to submit questions.
Smackdown's audience was 2.58 million this week, notable up from the past few weeks. I hope they keep the momentum going.
WWE has released NXT's Memo Montenegro, best known as the brother of Alberto Del Rio. I can only find two matches that he wrestled on the NXT TV show and they were back in 2012. Not everyone can make it to the big time. At least he's looking for another job at 25 and not 37.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Well, that's good to hear. I know they still have a lot of TV deals in place for what that's worth. They're definitely having some trouble, though, and it might not be over just yet.
2. That's pretty much it, I think. He does do a lot of promotional work for the company. I would think that he gives advice to TNA employees as well. Not everything Hogan is associated with turns out well, though. Pastamania? Celebrity Championship Wrestling? The American Gladiators revival? Brooke Knows Best? You get the idea...
3. THEY'RE NOT LETTING THE HULKSTER GO, BROTHER. At least not yet. Anyway, for the time being there aren't any plans to go back to the Impact Zone.
4. Maybe there wasn't time? Or maybe that was Prichard's job, too? They just can't get anything working these days from a business standpoint, can they?
5. TNA did hold Lockdown in MO a few years ago, so this is a notable slip-up. I do give them credit for what they did do, but I hope this is the last time they have this kind of problem.
More wrestling tomorrow.
