WWE Money In The Bank Preview

Read on for how I'd book tonight's Money In The Bank PPV.
As always: this is not necessarily what I want to happen, only what my proposal would be if I was a member of WWE Creative. It might not be the best route to go, but it's something I'm throwing out there. It's also not an indication of who I think is most talented.

Anyway:
The Shield wins on the pre-show. The Usos should look like they have a fighting chance (The Shield should be surprised that they can't be put away so easily), but ultimately they can't beat Rollins and Reigns. At Summerslam, The Shield should face a returning Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. If Mysterio can't go, they can face Tons of Funk. No, Tons of Funk aren't "Tag Team Title worthy", but it would serve as a vehicle to promote "Total Divas". WWE is about making money - they want that show to be a success.

AJ and Kaitlyn should get to show "what they can do". This is a war for the Divas' Title. Kaitlyn kicks out of an AJ spear, and AJ gets out of a Black Widow by Kaitlyn. Ultimately, AJ wins, but Kaitlyn makes her earn it. Ideally, Kaitlyn gets some time in the ring after the match to soak up some applause. On Raw, Layla consoles Kaitlyn before AJ calls Kaitlyn out to the ring to gloat about her victory and reveal one more manipulation: Layla turns on Kaitlyn, tired of playing second fiddle. SHE used to be Divas' Champion and the center of attention. AJ then feuds with Natalya, looking to ruin her life after Natalya had the dream marriage filmed for "Total Divas".

Axel beats Miz clean as he continues to get pushed. Next opponent on the Elevating Axel tour? R-Truth.

Ryback beats Jericho to come back to dominant status (and get his first PPV win in months). Post-match, Ryback destroys Jericho to write him off to do Fozzy as well as elevate Ryback. For Summerslam, Ryback vs. Kofi would be my plan if Kofi's cleared by then. Evan Bourne returns to try to prove his mettle against Ryback in the build-up to the match. That way, if Kofi can't go at Summerslam, they can easily do Ryback vs. Bourne in some kind of gimmick match.

Barrett wins the Smackdown MITB and we set the wheels in motion for Rhodes vs. Sandow. Sandow was originally my pick, but I think it might be too soon to push him that hard. Better to give him some more time to grow before putting him in the World Title picture. Barrett's next mountain to climb is the returning (as a face) Big Show. If Show's not ready to go, Barrett can tangle with his old adversary Ezekiel Jackson. Or maybe even Barrett vs. Gabriel. I think we need some time before going back to Barrett vs. Miz or Barrett vs. Sheamus. It feels like they've been done to death. Ambrose continues to feud with Christian for the U.S. Title.

Del Rio beats Ziggler with the help of his new heavies, Primo, Epico, and Hunico (who you might have noticed are getting paid but not really doing anything). There's a possibility of Hunico going face at some point, maybe under a new gimmick. I don't think you need Camacho here. We should probably forget he exists for a while so he can get a chance to come back as a new gimmick a la Bray Wyatt. Ziggler feuds with whatever you want to call Del Rio's underlings and Del Rio's next challenger is RVD.

Bryan wins the WWE briefcase after the Wyatts take out Orton. Bryan, Orton, and Kane vs. the Wyatts at Summerslam in one of those whole "can the partners get along" deals. I might end with this match given what I have in mind for Cena vs. Henry.

Cena vs. Henry is given every chance to be the match it can be. The finish is Cena hitting the AA and pinning Henry while (unbeknownst to Cena and the ref) Henry's foot is on the bottom rope. Henry's upset at the call, and Cena grants him a rematch at Summerslam. The plan is to rip off pay homage to Henry vs. Show at TLC then: Henry beats Cena, and then Bryan cashes in on Henry. Once Bryan gets done with Cena and Henry, he's got Ryback, Orton, Kane, and Punk as potential opponents. I personally want to see Bryan vs. HHH at Mania, but that's a long way off.

More wrestling tomorrow, including how the show actually goes down.
