Former ROH mainstays The Briscoes were sitting front row at a WWE live event. This was likely because they were left tickets by friends in the company, as has happened in the past. They have not as of yet been signed by WWE and it is no guarantee that they will.
Bret Hart talked about not being under a WWE Legends contract. Is anyone still interested in seeing him (outside of an occasional appearance in Canada)? I think his character's done just about all there is for him to do.
Joey Ryan was interviewed about TNA. I think he really made a mark in his initial angle- much more than a number of Gut Check performers. Talented guy with a nice gimmick. I'm glad he's not bitter about the budget cuts.
Everything else from yesterday is about the break.
The debut episode of "Total Divas" will be shown after Raw. Smart!
Sgt. Slaughter talked. Cool to hear about his current role in WWE, and how he found some big stars. Cool Taker story.
Cody Rhodes also talked, in South Africa. I liked his thoughts about his family and being a future main eventer. I think both he and Sandow could do good things as singles stars down the line, but there isn't necessarily a reason for them to split up right now. It's all in what they do with them. HBK is of course amazing.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Basically their stance is that they won't advertise him, but will use him in a historical context (like in the WWE Encyclopedia or on DVDs). They still distance themselves from his actions.
2. If they were faces, people would be cheering that the heels were finally getting wins against them after all these months of domination. What's your counter-suggestion to how they should book a team like the Usos who hasn't been seen as in the league of The Shield to look credible?
3. "This guy is creepy and confesses to manipulating people... let's cheer him!" Yeah... I don't see that happening/working. I like Dave's suggestion, though. It would be more organic.
They hit the nail on the head with 4. My thoughts exactly.
5. Some of his fans will apparently buy just about anything, so I imagine WWE's not too concerned about quality!
More wrestling tomorrow.
