Smackdown dark matches, more from Sabin, OVW cameo on Impact, next week's TNA main event, Interviews with Anderson/Natalya/Bellas, Crimson talks TNA, Booker T. Day report, WWE PPV name change official, more on DT Porter, more on Sorensen, fight in the crowd during Raw, Scott Hall update, #August1Warning (new TNA performer?), Impact audience, and Questions on WSX, Cornette/ROH, Candice, and Summerslam

In the dark match ahead of the 8/2 Smackdown, the Wyatt Family beat Tons of Funk. Bray cut a promo after the match in regards to Kane. Apparently they did the same match twice?

After the 8/2 Smackdown, Alberto Del Rio beat Dolph Ziggler in a Street Fight. Ziggler then connected with a Zig Zag. Pretty cool that they ended the taping with Ziggler.

Here's more from Chris Sabin's recent interview. It's still very weird that he's TNA Champion after all those years being notably lower on the card.

The man playing Bully Ray's lawyer on Impact was OVW announcer Dean Hill.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Chris Sabin vs. Manik is headlining next week's Impact in a clash of newly-crowned Champions. I'll be curious to see how well that draws.

Mr. Anderson talked at SDCC, including about the recent changes in TNA (which he's excited for). I'm not shocked that he said Austin, since it feels like at times that he "tries to be" Austin.

Crimson issued a statement about his time in TNA. I still think that WWE should pick him up for NXT. You need some big guys as well as the "flippy indie guys".

Michael Cole and Sharmell gave speeches for Booker T. Day. WWE filmed the ceremony, which had about 250 fans in attendance.

Natalya talked to Fox News about "Total Divas". Only about 30 women in the world wrestle? Say what? WWE has: 1. AJ Lee 2. Aksana 3. Alicia Fox 4. Brie Bella 5. Cameron 6. Kaitlyn 7. Layla 8. Naomi 9. Natalya 10. Nikki Bella 11. Rosa Mendes 12. Tamina Snuka plus NXT's 13. Summer Rae 14. Bayley 15. Charlotte 16. Emma 17. Kendall Skye 18. Paige 19. Sasha Banks. TNA has 20. Gail Kim 21. Mickie James 22. Miss Tessmacher 23. ODB 24. Taryn Terrell 25. Velvet Sky and OVW's 26. Hannah Blossom 27. Holly Blossom 28. Lei'd Tapa. OVW also has 29. Brittany DeVore 30. Heidi Lovelace 31. Jessie Belle 32. Taeler Hendrix 33. Trina Thompson. A look at TNA's recent Knockouts Knockdown PPV adds 34. Alissa Flash 35. Ivelisse 36. Tara 37. Mia Yim 38. Santana Garrett 39. Sojo Bolt 40. Jillian Hall 41. Serena Deeb (Trinity and Jackie Moore are mostly retired.) ROH has 42. Maria Kanellis 43. MsChif. There are more performers in SHIMMER and elsewhere on the indie scene, and elsewhere in the world. A lot more than 30. Someone really goofed there.

WWE Over The Limit has officially been renamed WWE Battleground. I miss "No Mercy", "Armageddon", etc..

A friend of the former DT Porter discussed his mental state. That's pretty worrying. I hope he gets the help he needs so that this doesn't happen again (assuming he ever makes it out of prison).

PWInsider.com has more about the release of Jesse Sorensen from TNA's perspective. I can't really blame them. That was a very tough situation for everyone involved. He's taking his health and life in his own hands is he tries to wrestle without being medically cleared. There's no way that WWE will pick him up if he can't be cleared.

A fight broke out in the crowd during Raw, as covered here. I always hate hearing about things like that.

In more "Total Divas" videos, The Bella Twins talked to both Fox News Latina and CBS New York. They're really making the rounds!

Update: And Busted Open. Cena probably doesn't get many jeers in person because his detractors go right back to their computers after tapings. I hope the show does get more people into WWE, specifically Divas' wrestling and Daniel Bryan. She's right that they don't look 30.

Scott Hall talked about his future and health to Stone Cold. I really hope he stays clean. Some of that is really scary stuff.

Some guy has a mysterious YouTube video about arriving in TNA. We'll find out who it is on Thursday. Hopefully it's someone I and others actually want to see.

Impact's audience this past week was 1.31 million, down from Destination X. If people were expecting Sabin to be the new focal point of TNA, they were disappointed. He's more important than he used to be, of course, but not as much as Bully Ray, Dixie, Angle, Sting or Hogan.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
Nothing to add to 1.

2. They pulled in a 1.0 for the debut. That's pretty impressive. I never saw it, but it would have been interesting to see how it would have done if MTV had gotten behind it. Would it be better than TNA?

3. That's pretty much it. Cornette's not the easiest guy to get along with and has quite the temper. It cost him there.

4. I kind of miss her actually. But yes, she no longer wrestles.

5. I'm under the impression that WWE likes the L.A. area for Summerslam and didn't have any plans to hold the show anywhere else.

More wrestling tomorrow.
