PWInsider.com posted a long interview with Matt Borne ("Doink") from 2010. It's always cool to hear from someone from a previous era.
Triple H put over the contributions of NXT's Rob Naylor. That makes it sound like he could be returning down the line, and that he chose to depart.
What about Raven? He underwent shoulder surgery a few weeks ago. Before anyone asks, I don't see him in WWE or TNA any time soon. He's been out there for a few years now and neither company's picked him back up.
Cody and Scott Hall were profiled. They are DEAD ON about younger wrestlers needing to slow down. WWE (or TNA for that matter) should wait to see how he's wrestling in a few years before deciding whether or not to sign him. For that matter, they should see how his dad's doing. They don't want the bad publicity of hiring the son of someone with Hall's past unless Hall stays clean.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
The TNA character "Suicide" will now be known as "Manic". TJ Perkins will still play the character. That probably is easier to market...
TNA's Gunner was profiled. Cool story of his road to TNA. As for "many" fans knowing about him, it was still a tiny fraction of the wrestling audience. I think he could have a good future given that he's only 31, but he does have a ways to go.
C.M. Punk is set for this week's Smackdown taping. Given how viewership has been unimpressive, I can't blame WWE for putting him on there.
Here's the list of people appearing at Chicago's Wizard World. Talking comics with Punk and AJ would be awesome.
Bray Wyatt vs. Alex Riley and Yoshi Tatsu vs. Drew McIntyre also happened on Sunday's show. I'll be curious to see where the careers of Riley and Tatsu go now (if anywhere). Neither have wrestled on U.S. TV since April.
WWE is seeking a Series Producer, who will presumably be important as they prepare for the launch of the WWE Network.
Mick Foley and JR remembered Matt Borne. Good read from Foley about Borne working heel, and JR is spot on about making what could have been a "flop" gimmick work.
Smackdown continues to have an unimpressive audience. This week, it dropped to 2.26 million. B-Show blues...
RVD has been added to a number of TV tapings following MITB. He's said that he'll have something of a Jericho-like schedule.
Speaking of Jericho, he isn't advertised for anything past MITB. So, I'm guessing that's his last night for a while.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Maybe you need to have better, more pertinent questions! All questions are equal, but some questions are more equal than others.
2. It definitely feels like they're just being thrown into segments because USA Network wants them to be. I don't think there's much of a rhyme or reason. There's a reason I call them the Poochie family.
Nothing to really add to 3. I suspect that he'll continue to be Triple H for the time being.
4. Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner! I think the nail was hit on the head here.
Nothing to add to 5.
