NXT and Main Event Reax - 7/6/16

Read on for my thoughts on last night's NXT and Main Event.

NXT:
- Bayley vs. Bliss:
Bayley's got a natural connection to the crowd inside and outside the ring. Add that to her solid ring skills, and she can absolutely contribute on the main roster by the end of the summer.

Alexa's definitely stepped up her game as a wrestler. Her trash talk is somehow even stronger, too.

I love Bliss making the most of the ref's five count.

Alexa is at a whole new level from the last time these two faced off. She's pretty much going hold to hold with the former champion.

Good match. Both women had strong showings.

That Bayley/Nia segment would have been better if they had mics so the crowd could understand what they were saying. Bayley's promo was pretty good, though.

Great promo from The Revival. They're probably pretty ready for the main roster themselves.

- Blake/Murphy vs. Hype Bros:
Wesley and Buddy should probably just call it a day as a team. It's just not going to work out.

Hey! It's the future state representative of Michigan!

Arrive. Gore. Leave. I hope William Regal has something to say about Rhyno ruining the match he set up.

American Alpha is determined to get their titles back.

I love Rhyno just walking around outside in his wrestling gear. Like, he didn't even waste time going to the locker room to change. Did he just drive up in his gear and leave his street clothes in his car? That's hilarious.

- Revival vs. A. Alpha:
-- Fall One:
I'm going to miss these two teams facing off, although hopefully we'll see them collide again on the main roster at some point.

I love me some chain wrestling.

I don't like cutesy synchronized tag team spots.

Dash and Dawson making it a LONG night for Jordan as they focus on the leg.

The Revival's teamwork is incredible.

I wonder if Taz will think it's gimmick infringement that Jordan's using a lot of suplexes (that will make more sense after tomorrow's news post).

AWESOME ankle lock spot.

-- Fall Two:
I love Jordan trying to get a pinfall as soon as possible. Good chain wrestling there.

Nice continuing story of submission work.

-- Fall Three:
AWESOME counters to each team's finisher. Talk about two teams who know each other well.

That Shatter Machine looked more painful for Wilder than Gable. Damn.

Incredible match.

Main Event:
- Cesaro vs. Axel:
There's something about Cesaro I'm just not a fan of. He's a talented athlete, but there are a couple of key spots that get tiresome.

I love the Outcasts. They need a fourth member, though. Tye Dillinger?

This is pretty fun so far.

I enjoy Axel's ring work.

That was mostly good. Cesaro's still not clicking for me, though. The Giant Swing feels like something Santino would do.

Apollo's a very bland babyface. He could have used more character development before being called up.

I like Corbin not caring which show he's on. As long as he gets to beat up someone, it shouldn't matter.

- Corbin vs. Cara:
I enjoy how these two match up. Corbin's rough style counters Cara's high-flying agility and vice versa.

Cara doing everything he can to try to beat the bigger man.

I love that a tough brawler can beat a flippy guy. Good match overall.

Ahhh, Golden Truth.

- Golden Truth vs. Ascension:
Viktor's smart to tack advantage of Truth being distracted.

Wow. That was quick, but good for the time it had.

- Rusev vs. Crews:
I didn't realize I wanted this match until now.

Good work from both men so far. I like how these two styles combine.

Crews is bringing his all against the submission specialist.

I like both these guys as athletes.

That was a really good match.

More wrestling coming up.
