WWE Q2 2016 Financials Reax

Read on for my thoughts on yesterday's WWE financial news releases.
WWE released reports of their record quarterly revenue:
- Great, great numbers for live events and the Network. WOW.

- WWE continues to really make a lot of headway with its digital ventures. Sadly, that will be dismissed by journalists who want to paint an anti-WWE picture by pretending the entertainment industry is the same as the Monday Night Wars were most people watched TV live, etc.

- WOW. Big numbers for the WrestleMania promotion, and a lot of them stayed.

- Not a lot of net income, though. That's a problem and needs to be addressed.

- The Network keeps growing, and is going to continue to be important in the years to come. It's not time to say it will be more important than TV, but it's definitely really important as people's watching habits change.

- Glad to see revenues up in all regions. Latin America is still kind of struggling, though.

- Venue merchandise and WWEShop are doing well. That's good news. I imagine NXT is helping that side of things.

-- Here's a report from their conference call:
- I don't know how they got Tuesday's Smackdown rating being better than any since moving to cable. They did better just in January.

- It's amazing just how huge the WWE library is. Granted, a lot of that is for old territories and pre-Raw era WWF that wouldn't necessarily attract a large audience.

- I really don't see the McMahons selling their business.

More wrestling coming up.
