Otunga appearance, Flair update, more WWEPC trainers, big Cena ad, new WWE show trademark, and Questions on The Bunny's status, Savage in TNA, Cole's interviews, and different sets for Raw and Smackdown

David Otunga appeared on a FOX station's sports show in New York City, discussing becoming a wrestler and his workouts. I'm glad he's been a positive role model.

Ric Flair was not on WWE's Japanese tour this weekend as originally advertised. I see him coming back in time for Summerslam or a September PPV to cost Charlotte the title. They should keep him off TV until it's the right time.

Stevie Richards will soon be a guest trainer at the WWEPC. Scotty 2 Hotty recently trained there, too. Could we see either or both men back as wrestlers after the brand split? I know Stevie could still contribute at that level. Scotty still wrestles fairly regularly, so I expect he could be a good hand to have around to work with newer names, too.

John Cena was part of a big July 4 ad. Beautiful stuff.

WWE has trademarked the name "WWE Story Time" as a TV show. Umm... what? I really hope this features someone like Mean Gene or Sean Mooney reading books to little kids about Hogan slamming Andre, etc. Like Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood or Sesame Street. Otherwise, it should be WWE's version of Reading Rainbow.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1 is specific to their site, so there's nothing to add.

2.a. I really don't see it happening. The Bunny is long gone in WWE kayfabe.

b. They sort of did have a feud. There was also a tease of a new, darker direction for a Bunny, but it never really played out. Justin Gabriel (PJ Black) leaving the company doomed the Bunny to a degree, since he was part of pushing for the character.

c. It's possible Rose uses the Bunny on the indies. He plans to continue the party character, in a less PG fashion.

3. Savage left the following friction with Hogan, who appeared backstage at a TNA event to confront Savage about that rap album dissing Hulk. TNA actually teased Savage vs. Hogan despite Hulk not being under contract. Oops.

4. That would make sense if Cole is exclusive to one brand (even in that role). I just wonder who will do that on the other side. Mauro? Saxton? Graves?

5. Distinct sets is only window dressing if everything else is really similar. One show should be the Marvel to the other's DC. Both do comics about superheroes, but each has different styles in how they tell their stories, different looks, etc. The brand split would likely be more effective if each show is that distinct. I'd love to see each show feel differently from a production standpoint, on down to how the shows are shot, but I don't see that happening.

More wrestling tomorrow.
