DJ Z will miss several months due to recovering from ruptured discs in his neck. That's really unfortunate. Hopefully the EVOLVE matches didn't make the situation worse.
WWE 2K18 got a downloadable New Moves Pack Tuesday.
John Cena spoke to LADbible. His appeal outside wrestling is only increasing.
Matt Cappotelli's battle with brain cancer was profiled. I'd love to see him get the Warrior Award in 2018. That's a heartbreaking diagnosis.
HOH trainer and wrestler Vik Dalishus suffered a fracture of both his fibula and tibia. He'll have to have multiple surgeries in addition to the one he's already had, and will miss at least six months of action. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help offset medical costs. That's an incredibly unfortunate setback as the company's spotlight increases.
Memphis icon Austin Idol joined Nick Aldis to comment on Aldis' NWA World Championship victory. That was pretty good to continue the rebirth of the brand with traditional elements.
Kenny Omega attacked Chris Jericho at an NJPW press conference to continue the build to their upcoming match.
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are set for Raw. I assume we're in for a triple threat at Wrestlemania where Kane can eat the pin.
A Ric Flair robe sold for $27,000. That's how classy the Nature Boy dressed.
The Rock was on "Ellen" recently.
Rockstar Spud is set to start on 205 Live the week of December 17. It's unknown if he'll use that name in WWE. I'm excited to see him, though, and I think he'd be an incentive to check out the upcoming live events.
Braun Strowman talked in the UK. Good words about how it takes a lot of people to make WWE work the way it does.
Ric Flair discussed his favorite matches. I'm a little surprised Triple H didn't make the list.
Titus O'Neill talked to Impact Theory. He's a great public face for WWE.
Raw drew 2.69 million viewers Monday night. It's a good thing Brock's back next week...
Impact's live events manager has left the company after his deal expired without the two sides coming to terms on a new one. The departure was an amicable one. Morffi will continue working for House of Hardcore and Aro Lucha. Impact continues to shrink on-screen and behind-the-scenes as Anthem cuts expenses.
Roman Reigns is not advertised for next week's Raw. It looks as though he'll be taking a week off.
John Cena is advertised for the Christmas episode of Raw before working Raw and Smackdown live events near the end of the year. On the Raw shows, he's set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Intercontinental Championship. On the Smackdown shows, he's in the mix for the WWE Championship.
The former Darren Young is set for WrestlePro on March 9. Is he really not going to have any matches before then??? So much for being "Mr. No Days Off"
For my thoughts on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Owens winning the Rumble (then the title) to stick it to Shane works for me! Or hell, have Owens win the title at the Rumble and Zayn win the Rumble match. That could be AMAZING.

2. An added perk is trying to rehabilitate Anthem and Impact's images after the whole fiasco with the Hardys. The company is in a pretty rough spot right now, and they need every bit of goodwill they can get.
3. I'm sure WWE wasn't happy with the Emmalina situation, and they could have figured they were about to bring up some more women, so they cut two who had been in the company for a while that they didn't have bigger plans for going forward.
4. I expect all three will be public faces in different ways. Shane could be a TV face while Triple H and Stephanie will continue to make appearances as executives in addition to on-screen duties.
5. Those weak, incompetent referees can barely count to ten. What else do you expect?

Chris Jericho attacked Kenny Omega and Don Callis at the final night of NJPW's World Tag League. Genius surprise appearance. NJPW needs to get all the mileage out of this they can.
Paige talked on Lilian Garcia's podcast, confirming her October 2016 Wellness policy failure was for an illegal substance, rather than prescription painkillers as she originally claimed. Paige made that claim because she didn't want to be seen in a negative light.
- Paige also discussed the fallout from the sexual video being released online, leading to her getting sick and collapsing due to stress-induced anorexia.
- Paige met with Vince and Stephanie McMahon before returning. I hope she can stay on a positive path now after a really rough period.
Tribute to the Troops will feature:

WWE Network is now a cable channel in Malaysia. WWE must have gotten a good offer to go that route there.
The former Sawyer Fulton has returned to the indies as Madman Fulton, playing off his work in SAnitY. He wasn't able to get much momentum going in NXT, so hopefully he'll be able to get something going there.
WWE released an animated holiday video. Someone actually got paid to make this.
Bully Ray will return to the ring at Final Battle, teaming with Tommy Dreamer against the Briscoes in a New York Street Fight. The story is that Bully is getting a medical waiver in order to compete that night. We'll see how much he wrestles after this given all the teases of being done.
ROH has announced pre-show matches for Final Battle:
- Jonathan Gresham vs. Josh Woods
- The Dawgs vs. Cheeseburger and a partner of Cheeseburger's choosing
Rich Swann was released from jail Monday after signing a statement that he wouldn't have any hostile contact with his wife. A court hearing is forthcoming. I really hope this ends well for all involved. It was disheartening to hear about Sunday's events.
Ric Flair will be doing a Q&A series on his YouTube channel.
Sylvester Stallone teased Brock Lesnar will be in the next Rocky Balboa movie, likely in the role of Ivan Drago's son. That would be INSANE.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1.a. It definitely fits right in with what Bray likes to do, which is probably a plus.
1.b. Matt will be able to pitch whatever he wants, but it will be a matter of those ideas being approved by the people who have to shoot them, etc. I don't think it's a stretch to say Billy Corgan was more on-board with that whole aesthetic than WWE is likely to be.
2. It's a lot riskier out there if you're not with a big promotion. There are people working through things that need doctors' attention who can't afford to take time off to get it treated. That's hardly just a wrestling problem, but few professions are as dangerous.
3. The NWA needs to be able to give wrestlers a place they want to work and fans a product they want to see. More specifically, he needs to give people something they can't get elsewhere. The NWA legacy is going to be part of that, certainly, but it needs to be used in a way that connects with an audience that's more familiar with Goldust and Cody than Dusty Rhodes.
4. Rowan was definitely cast for the gimmick after they had already seen Husky transform into Bray and signed Harper. They needed a third guy, so they had Rowan change what he was doing in FCW to be another member of the family. I doubt Vince had anything to do with that, actually, since the trio were put together in FCW and came up through NXT. As for how he's been booked since then, I definitely see Bray, Harper, and Braun as bigger prospects. Rowan works better in a team or group setting.
5. I think the Warrior questions are a rib, but yes, they could definitely do a FAQ page to cut back on the repetitive questions.

Swann arrested and suspended, DJ Z hurt, more from HHH vs. Jinder in India, WWE selling combo tickets for back-to-back tapings, new NWA Champion crowned, assorted WWE press, Smackdown live event note, Arolucha pilot taping notes, and Questions on WWE's next content deal, what's next for Matt Hardy, Jason's future, Rock's lack of WWE appearances, and expanding the women's Rumble
Rich Swann was arrested and charged with false imprisonment and battery in Florida, with the possibility of years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines:
- Reports say Swann's wife, who performs as Su Yung, left a car Swann was driving in the middle of an argument regarding a match Yung had just competed in. Yung alleges she felt Swann was angry with her performance and left before the argument could escalate. Swann left the car and grabbed Yung before leading her back to the car in a headlock. Yung screamed for help and tried to escape as Swann pulled away. Before Swann and Yung returned to the car, the unparked car ran into a telephone pole.
- After the car was pulled over by police, Yung said she tried to get Swann to park the car so she could leave the argument, but he refused to do so, so she left once the car slowed down. Swann denied getting physical with Yung, saying she voluntarily returned to the car and that he needed the GPS on her phone to return home from the event.
- WWE suspended Swann indefinitely in accordance with their policy regarding domestic violence. Should he be convicted of charges, Swann will be released.
- Swann's story was picked up by "New York Times" and Associated Press. Even if he's in the clear legally, this is going to follow him for some time. That's a very scary incident, and deserves to be treated seriously by everyone involved. I hope everyone can move forward in a constructive way and this is the last time either party is involved with an incident like this. Swann could have a long career ahead of this, but WWE isn't going to want to promote him in the public if he can't keep his emotions in check.
DJ Z recently suffered a pinched nerve. He's working through it following an MRI. Z also had his wallet stolen recently. I hope he's back in form before too much longer. He's been working actively, although hasn't been in Impact since March.
Triple H, Jinder Mahal, and the Singh brothers did a traditional Indian dance after the main event in India. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA classic Triple H.
WWE is selling combination tickets for the February 19 Raw and February 20 Smackdown in the same venue in Arizona. Not a bad idea.
The former Magnus defeated Tim Storm to become the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion. The title change took place at CZW's Cage of Death 19. That was a significant stage to do that match. I'm curious what's next for the new champion and for NWA as a whole.
Triple H shared a flight to the U.S. with a popular YouTube star. I wonder if he took a Pedigree, too?
AJ Styles responded to a video of a bullied child. That's powerful stuff.
Breezango have a Fashion Files video on Smackdown live events, setting up a match with The Colons. I like it.
Aro Lucha had their debut show in Tennessee:
- The 1,000 seat venue was filled. Some fans were turned away at the door, which was very impressive for the promotion's first show.
- Konnan and Vince Russo produced pre-taped segments and promos at the show.
- Shane Helms was a producer for several matches at the event as well as a wrestler.
- Willie Mack worked as Willie McClinton.
- The former El Torito worked as Mascarita Sagrada, his pre-WWE name.
- Rebecca Hardy worked as a heel authority figure for the women.
- Taya Valkyrie worked a tag match.
- James Storm worked his first match since leaving Impact. He could end up having a backstage role as well, since that was discussed when Aroluxe had a controlling interest at Impact.
- Jack Evans worked as Jack Edwards.
- Garza, Jr. worked a six-man tag.
- Johnny Impact/Johnny Mundo worked the main event as John Hennigan.
- The taping went about two hours.
- Modelo Beer was featured as a sponsor.
- Jeremy Borash and Jerry Lynn were visiting.
- Another taping is expected in January.
- A lot of current and former Impact crew members worked the event, including the head of the ring crew. With the show being in Tennessee, that's not a big surprise. I assume Impact is good with them working both promotions. Aroluxe would be smart to set tapings around what Impact is doing so there's no conflict.
- Juventud Guerrara will join the promotion at some point.
- CWFH's Denise Salcedo did ring announcing in English and Spanish as DeeDee.

1. Not much to say other than WWE has a good number of options for their next deal, whether Disney buys Fox or not.
2. If it's going to be anything like his Impact run, I expect some pretty wacky stuff with the extended Hardy family, including Reby, Reby's father, and Matt's son Maxel. Last time we got drones, fireworks, a lake that brings back former gimmicks, and a volcano. It's... different for sure.
3. I think he's faking being injured to have an excuse to lose on the route to a heel turn. That could be pretty fun. If he can emulate heel Angle from the WWF days, he'll be onto something.
4. It's all up to if he wants to be involved with something and if they can come up with an angle for him. They're not going to put him on TV without an idea beyond "oh hey The Rock's here." They want his appearances to be special. Otherwise they're just taking time away from the people they do want to use as more regular workers.
5. I'm good with starting with a fairly small group, including an NXT name or two and some surprises like we'll hopefully see in the men's Rumble match. I don't want them to have to really stretch to fill spots. I would like to see Jazzy and Piper again if the booking's right.

Main Event Reax - 12/9/17, another Batista movie, Madusa surgery, Russo to Aro Lucha, Smackdown segments set, new Ride Along after Raw, this week's Flashback Friday theme, Otunga-WWE update, NXT names work in India, Cena on potential dream match, more NXT on USA ads, woman of honor does charity, ROH announces April shows, live event correction, more on Impact at WrestlePro, and Questions on Russo breaking the fourth wall, Coach returning to WWE, Vince selling WWE, and another Total Divas spinoff

Solid start.
This is pretty smooth.
I like Kendrick's unorthodox strategy.
Tozawa's doing a good job getting acclimated to the WWE style.

- Slater/Rhyno vs. Club:
Fine start.
I like the combination of Slater and Rhyno. Heath does more of the technical stuff, then Rhyno comes in with the pwoer.
I don't think we're going to see the Gore in WWE anymore...
Slater's pretty solid.
I like the Club's offense here.

Batista has booked another film role, this time with Fox. He's really starting to take off in Hollywood.
Madusa recently underwent knee replacement surgery. I hope that leads to a more comfortable life for her going forward.
Vince Russo has been hired as a script consultant for Aro Lucha. That sounds like he'll just help Konnan and company format their ideas for TV. It's definitely a different beast from live events, and Russo has a lot of experience writing wrestling TV scripts.
AJ Styles will have a "faceoff" with Jinder Mahal on Smackdown, while Kevin Owens will face Shinsuke Nakamura. Sami Zayn will be in Owens' corner, while Randy Orton will join Shinsuke at ringside. Both good ideas to build to Clash of Champions.
After Raw, a new "WWE Ride Along" will feature the pairs of Breezango and Lana and Rusev. Both could be REALLY entertaining.
WWE Network will feature Christmas-related episodes for this week's Flashback Friday. This year's Christmas show should be something else.
David Otunga will join Renee Young and Peter Rosenberg on the Clash of Champions Kickoff show, so he's back in the mix.
NXT's Jeet Rama and Kishan Raftar worked Raw's India show, defeating Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Rama and Raftar are from India. I wouldn't be shocked to see them ending up joining Jinder Mahal to replace the Singh brothers; they've been in the WWE Performance Center for some time.

2. It's certainly a possibility, even if he's only there to do a special on the Network here and there or something. It will be up to what each side's goals are going forward.
3. If someone's willing to offer them a lot of money and let WWE continue to do things they way they're done now, they'll listen to the pitch!
