Top trainer at Harley Race camp, more dates for Brock, Interviews with Axel/Spud/Jeff Hardy, note on ROH names, former X-Division Champion officially back in TNA, Russo and TNA part ways, Spike-TNA update, Ricardo released, new TNA signing and Questions on late arrival spoilers, how Creative works, Heyman, WWE merch and the Authority

Dr. Tom Prichard has been announced for the 2014 Harley Race Wrestling Camp. He had a big role in WWE developmental for many years. I think it's safe to say he was better received than Bill DeMott has been in the same role. Anyway, this is a big opportunity for those in training and I hope they take advantage of it.

Brock Lesnar is advertised for the Raw after Summerslam as well as the Raw before Night of Champions. If he beats Cena, it will be really interesting to see how they book things in his absence. Now is the time to elevate other performers if they can't use the WWE Championship as a draw for live events and such due to Lesnar's schedule.

Curtis Axel talked about working with The Rock and Brock Lesnar ahead of their respective returns. Training with The Rock is a pretty sweet resume-builder. It's pretty weird they acknowledged Axel's real name through Rock's tweets. I really shouldn't be surprised anymore. I can only imagine how intimidating it is working with Lesnar in that kind of situation.

Update: Curt Hawkins wasn't too pleased at being left out. He also worked with Rock. I can see why WWE didn't include someone they recently released, but they definitely left out part of the story.

Main Event Reax - 7/29/14, Interviews with Piper/Prinze,Jr./RVD, post-Raw dark match, U.S. Champ missing, Del Rio busted open, WWE financial update, Raw audience and Questions on Divas storytelling, the blue steel cage, Flo Rida, Sandow, and Ambrose as champ

Main Event:
That was the best Alberto segment in as long as I can remember. Great stuff from both guys and I can't wait for the match.

I like the new stable with Xavier, Big E and Kofi. If they're really going to add Mark Henry as the leader of the group, that's a great opportunity for the younger stars to learn under him. As much as I don't want it to be "the black people group", I do want the people involved to get the rub from Henry. They could reunite the Primetime Players to feud with them as faces if they wanted. Obviously that more or less throws the breakup angle's heat away, but it will have been long enough once Darren recovers that Titus could have had a change of heart or something. The end goal needs to be elevating wrestlers and getting them more experience so they can carry the company when the long-term veterans retire.

Really good tag match. WWE's got some pretty good teams.

I like how Xavier's group isn't attacking or anything. It keeps intrigue going on what direction they'll take.

I like Slater Gator. I'm not really sure why, but the gimmick clicks for me.

That was another pretty good tag match. Slater Gator has potential (and I love the name).

Great match between Ambrose and Del Rio. Del Rio makes for a great ring general and Ambrose is always a house of fire. I wouldn't mind a rematch at all.

Solid ending to the show. Ambrose vs. Rollins at Summerslam should be AMAZING.

Former WWE/World Champion returns, Interviews with Ambrose/Batista/Dallas, WWE signs Devitt, TNA-Spike update, Hall of Famer at WWE live event, another Hall of Famer training, Smackdown audience and Questions on HHH's friend Mark, improving the Network, WWE's sets, the Benoit movie and Lana

Big Show returned at this weekend's live events, beating Cesaro. I want to see a Giant Swing on Show really badly now.

Dean Ambrose talked about Kenta, Sting and more. In order:
- As far as him and Rollins "not having a match" at Battleground, that's technically true. But they still were involved in a lot of action. If they never made any contact or were totally pulled from the card or what have you, I'd be more upset. But they really tore into each other.

- I think having Ambrose in a cowboy outfit would be hilarious, but it's not something they should do. I'm glad he has the freedom to grow in his own direction, though.

- NXT is quite different from the Lucky Cannon days of FCW. I didn't hate Cannon, but he's no Sami Zayn or Adrian Neville.

- I'm glad Ambrose is learning so much from the varied teachers in WWE. There's a wealth of knowledge to pull from there.

Query on Booker T., HHH/Stephanie birthday with a pop star, WWE live event notes, Interview with Big E, Spike doesn't renew TNA contract?, and Questions on Wolves in TNA's TLC, Sting in the WWE Hall, Willow, the origins of faces and heels, and JR

First up, a query:
1. No, Booker T. was never charged with murder. I think some have Booker confused with the former DT Porter.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon had a birthday party for their daughter featuring Katy Perry. Yeah, it was kind of a slow news day other than the Spike-TNA story.

Damien Sandow's angle continued this weekend with him cutting a pro-Texas promo at an Oklahoma show. By my count (through Cagematch.net), he's lost his last 33 matches. That makes for a pretty brutal win/loss record since he had the MITB briefcase.

Big E talked a bit about his new faction with Xavier Woods with Kofi Kingston. It was definitely time for something new with Kofi in particular.

Interviews with Steamboat/Bad Influence/Daniels/Hogan, class action lawsuit vs. WWE, WWE live event notes, Steen-WWE update, another planned Summerslam match, Kane charity and Questions on Punk's school, Flair as NWA Champ on WWF TV and having two entrance ramps

Ricky Steamboat talked about working as a babyface vs. a heel and more. Great read. I've heard comparisons with NXT's Sami Zayn as far as being such a naturally likeable performer who works perfectly as a face.

Another lawsuit was filed against WWE over their underperforming TV deal. They did put the cart in front of the horse as far as claiming the TV deal was worth a lot more than it was.

Ric Flair was the guest referee for Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton in a Street Fight at a live event this weekend. Reigns won. That's a cool use for him.

Damien Sandow continued to lose multiple matches at live events this weekend. It's not even really news anymore. Also, Heath Slater teamed with Titus O'Neil and Hornswoggle vs. Diego, Tyson Kidd and El Torito. That goes against recent WWE and NXT angles, but the live event bookers probably just worked with who they had to get everyone on the card.

Interviews with DiBiase, Sr./RVD, more from SDCC, more on Australian tour, Another former ECW name in TNA, Impact audience, Bryan foils robbery, WWE stars with other stars' entrances and Questions on WWE on Netflix, Angle back in WWE and ROH on PPV

Ted DiBiase, Sr. talked about Taker's streak ending, Bray Wyatt and more. He's right about so many characters being generic in the OVW and FCW eras. You can only go so far as "talented athlete who wants to be champion". As for Taker's streak, I haven't seen anything credible to suggest that wasn't the planned finish. Given Taker's condition after the match, it was probably the right call.

WWE.com talked to Sting after Comic-Con. It's pretty crazy to see a Sting figure by WWE.

Here's footage of the whole SDCC panel. That's a pretty eclectic mix of talents!

Rob Van Dam talked ahead of WWE's tour of Australia. Interesting philosophy of saving all his energy for the match itself.

New GFW partnership, HHH talks JR, Sting at WWE event, WWE @ SDCC recap, WWE stars in comic attire and Questions on Punk leaving, why WWE pushes Cena, Kenta's chances of success and Cesaro's direction

Global Force Wrestling has announced partnerships with five European promotions. Jarrett's connections are really helping him out. Having access to wrestlers in a number of key international markets puts him in a big position to succeed. I think it's too early to talk about him being serious competition to WWE or TNA. All this is great, but he'll need a national TV presence if he's going to make a dent in the U.S. market.

Triple H paid tribute to Jim Ross as his contract came up. JR was the voice of a generation, for sure.

Sting appeared in full costume at WWE's Comic-Con booth. That's really, really cool.

JR-WWE update, Roberts health update, Interviews with Davey/Cesaro/Batista, three TNA stars sign new deals, Brock update, a look at Heyman's Raw promo, where's Sheamus, Cena role picture and Questions on Punk vs. Cabana, storyline holes, Sting wrestling, booking Cena and the HoF

Jim Ross is now legally done with WWE after 21 years. This frees him up for other commentary jobs if he so chooses. I don't see him going to TNA or GFW, but you never know. NJPW could be a possibility based on recent comments, though.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts has announced being cancer-free. That's fantastic news! This has been a great year for him.

Davey Richards gave an interview about TNA and his WWE tryout. The Wolves vs. the Hardys and vs. Team 3D is a great opportunity for them to grow as performers. As for going to WWE, they wouldn't be "training The Wolves to wrestle". WWE would be getting them to adjust how they wrestle to fit what WWE does. If you go from working at an Italian restaurant to a Japanese restaurant, the people at the second restaurant aren't "training you to cook". They're adjusting your existing skills for the new kind of food.

Main Event Reax - 7/22/14, Query on Hunico's bodyguard, post-Raw dark match, WWE on Daily Show, Otunga note, TNA-Spike update, TNA attendance, Matt Hardy update, Impact lineup, another show without Cena, former Divas' Champ at Raw, why Jericho was taken out backstage, Raw changes, Raw audience, NXT lineup and Questions on Cena's character, title wins, Ryder's shows, WWE shilling and Vince helping ECW

Main Event:
I liked WWE setting the stage with the footage from Battleground.

Good match for Rollins to get a win after Battleground. And he didn't even need Summer Rae or Layla working with him!

Good match to keep setting up Rybaxel as challengers, but it cut into the Usos' momentum after their big win at the PPV.

I think there's some potential for entertaining stuff from SlaterGator. I'm glad they got a segment to set up their match.

Alberto vs. Reigns should be good.

That was a good match to get momentum for Kofi and Big E. I was initially against the stable, but if it furthers the careers of Kofi, Big E and Xavier (and anyone else involved), it's good by me. Kofi needs a new direction and Big E needs some experience. This works for both.

Good Swagger/Zeb segment. It's crazy how relatively easy it was to make them faces.

Funny SlaterGator segment. I think that pairing could work, but Titus joining Xavier's stable seems likely. I'm not a fan of the "put all the black people together" feel to it, but it could be the best thing creatively for those involved right now.

Ambrose vs. Cesaro should be great!

That Lana promo was fine. I'm glad they're not totally abandoning the push.

I was a little disappointed with that ending, but the match was a solid physical encounter. Rusev's fine for looking physically dominant. I think there's a sizable chance we end up with Rusev vs. Cena down the line.

Good post-match to continue Rusev vs. Swagger.

Heyman's tease, Interviews with Kenta/Roberts/Punk, WWE guests, big book on WWE at MSG in the works, RVD update, AXXESS replaced, backlash to Battleground promo, More on British Boot Camp 2, Summerslam plans and Questions on Lana/Putin, Cesaro, the Impact Zone crowd and non-talkers

Paul Heyman made reference to going to pick up "Plan C" during Battleground. I wonder what Brock does when he's not involved with wrestling. He's quite the private individual.

Kenta was interviewed in NXT. He sounded fine in his brief English there. If he's as good as he's been sold as, he should get over fine.

Chris Jericho's father and son were sitting ringside at Battleground. I wonder what they thought of his match.

Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart visited WWE talents this weekend. I wonder if he'll make a cameo for the Tyson/Natalya angle down in NXT.

Steen note, TNA hypes "big news", update on physical WWE Championship, Battleground guest and Questions on the Summerslam main event, bringing back "jobbers", Sting in WWE, Mysterio and internet forums

Kevin Steen worked his final match with Ring of Honor this weekend. There continues to be speculation of him going to WWE. Steen wrestled with "OLE" written on one of his wrists. This was the catchphrase of longtime rival El Generico, who now wrestles as Sami Zayn in NXT. There hasn't been any official confirmation of Steen going to WWE, but he was part of a tryout months back.

TNA made reference to "big news" on Twitter, but it turned out to just be hype for Matt Hardy's return. It had already been officially announced Matt was going to be on Impact, so this wasn't really anything groundbreaking.

WWE will officially be transitioning to the new logo (the one used for the Network) at Summerslam. New championship belts with the new logo are being made. It's expected that once this switch is made, WWE will just use one physical belt for the top title. "Big Gold" will once more be retired. It makes sense for there to just be one belt for the title. I'm surprised they've kept two belts as long as they have.

Query on Devon's sons in WWE, TNA live event note, Santino update, Interviews with Rock/Wyatt/Bo/Natalya, Sandow's losses continue and Questions on Snuka, Ventura, Shane O'Mac and Russo vs. PWInsider

First up, a query:
1. I haven't seen anything about Devon's sons Terrence and Terrell going to WWE, or to TNA for that matter. Once Team 3D's run in TNA wraps up, it will be interesting to see if Bully Ray, Devon and/or Terrence and Terrell head to WWE. I'd think the latter would start out in NXT if they were signed.

James Storm was managing Sanada on one of this weekend's TNA shows, so that could be where their TV angle's going. If TNA does want Sanada as a long-term fixture of the company, Storm's someone who can pass knowledge to him.

WWE is advertising Santino Marella and Emma vs. Fandango and Layla for Australia. I'm guessing that's an old advertisement given Santino's announcement and where things have gone for Fandango and Layla lately. I do expect Emma to compete, however.

Interviews with top NXT prospects/Reigns/Henry, Hogan and Flair teaming, NXT taping thoughts, next big TNA event, Impact audience and Questions on what to do with Kenta, Punk, Paige vs. AJ, taping live events and ECW in TNA

Here are highlights from recent interviews with NXT's Charlotte, Sami Zayn, Tyler Breeze and Adrian Neville. I really hope we see Zayn on the main roster by the end of the year. They could save his debut for the Royal Rumble at the latest. NXT definitely has some solid names and more who are still in the wings (Solomon Crowe, Kenta, likely Devitt, maybe Steen). I do think Zayn and Cesaro REALLY put it out there at Arrival, but it was the culmination of their feud and the last time they'll face off in NXT.

Roman Reigns talked ahead of a live event. I could see him leaving WM31 as WWE Champion.

Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair are advertised as hosts for a WWE live event on August 16, the night before Summerslam. I wouldn't be surprised if they were booked for Summerslam itself.

WWE has pulled all C.M. Punk merchandise from their website. Since he's not under contract anymore, they no longer have the rights to make merchandise of him. I wonder if he'll cash in on his name and likeness through any other outlets.

Update: Of note, Punk's contract expired three years to the date of MITB 2011. This more or less confirms the story of him signing a new deal that day. That's amazing.

Update/correction: Punk's merchandise is under the WWE Alumni section. That makes sense.

JJ Dillon talked about Daniel Bryan's injury and more. There's pushing through being hurt and then there's doing serious, career-threatening damage. As for Ole Anderson, before the Montreal incident with Bret Hart, one of the biggest scandals in wrestling was "Black Saturday". Some would even consider it bigger than Montreal.

Battleground change, Summerslam main event further confirmed, Interviews with Sting/Ambrose, a look at WWEPC, WWE gets plug, TNA Champion working Bellator, Bryan snubbed, original WM30 plans for Rock, Taker appearance, top WWE name opening school, WWE heading back to Mexico and Questions on the WWE Universe, NXT debuts, DQs, TNA in NYC and the Network

Damien Sandow and Adam Rose have been removed from the Intercontinental Championship battle royal. This opens them up for a separate segment/match/thinly disguised commercial. I don't think they were really going to do much in the battle royal anyway.

A commercial for the Summerslam main event has been found. That'll be big for sure.

Sting confirmed he wants to wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31. I wonder what Taker thinks about Sting saying that. There's no guarantee Taker will be physically OK to do a big match then. Sting working with WWE and passing knowledge to the younger stars would be great. He's got decades of experience and has worked a number of top promotions.

Main Event:
Was it that hard to make Miz a hated heel again? I wonder how much Y2J's return had to do with Miz getting a reboot. Either way, I think that was a pretty good segment. Miz can be a pretty good heel when they let him (see: his whole run leading to and following WrestleMania 27).

WOW! I truly expected WWE to be bitter and throw Emma under a bus here. Props to them for not being petty. It would have made sense to have Cameron win to set up her match with Naomi, but I'm not complaining about Emma getting the win.

Good post-match to set up Sunday's match.

Good tag match from the participants in Sunday's battle royal. They're all talented.

I missed this version of Miz. He just didn't work as a face, even with Flair in his corner.

Sheamus vs. Miz was pretty good. I look forward to more action on Sunday.

Addressing the Ric Flair World Titles controversy

As John Cena approaches 16 World Championships, I look at the disputed title history of "16-time champion" Ric Flair.

More on NXT names working main roster, Wyatt busted open, Bryan update, celebrity WWE fan, NXT lineup, Battleground pre-show match set, more NXT guests, KENTA update, Cena pulled from appearance, Double J on WWE.com, Raw guests, Smackdown audience, more Flair, Sting-WWE update and Questions on Tyson in WCW, hacks, Raw at three hours, pushes or lack thereof and Punk in TNA

In addition to Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn and Charlotte, Sasha Banks is set for this week's WWE TV tapings. My guess is she'll team with Charlotte again in some capacity.

Bray Wyatt was busted open at Saturday's live event due to an errant punch by Ric Flair. Flair might have gotten Wyatt with the Hall of Fame ring. Ouch!

Update: Wyatt needed seven stitches, but won't miss any ring time.

Daniel Bryan will be on the cover of WWE Magazine's August issue since he was originally in the plans for Summerslam. As far as I know, that doesn't mean he's expected to be back by then. I believe that's still up in the air.

Anthony Bourdain made the news for praising his experience at a WWE show. That's pretty cool.

Here's the official press release for the second edition of British Boot Camp. I wonder if we'll ever see a Ring Ka King 2 or something similar.

The former Drew McIntyre talked about his post-WWE plans. TNA or GFW or whomever needs to pick this guy up so I can see him on TV again. He's a keeper.

WWE will be airing the documentary part of C.M. Punk's DVD Tuesday night on the Network. I think they're just getting everything they can out of being associated with him before his contract expires this week.

WWE signs KENTA, WM31 rumorkiller, WWE tryouts, Interviews with Natalya/Rose+Y2J+HHH, Mathews update, WWE-MSG notes and Questions on the WWE Network, RVD and unifying titles

WWE has officially signed KENTA. The signing was covered on WWE.com. This is considered a pretty big deal. They don't announce every signing on WWE.com or involve Hulk Hogan with it. I wish Kenta the best! He's held in the same regard as Punk and Bryan by some fans, so he's got a lot of hype.

There's a poster on the website for the stadium hosting WrestleMania 31 advertising The Rock, Brock Lesnar and Batista, but it's believed to be a fake. I can see Brock and Batista being there, but Rock is less likely. We'll see.

WWE will be holding tryouts ahead of their Australian shows next month, with eight wrestlers getting the opportunity to show what they can do. I hope WWE gets some talented new stars there.

TNA's UK announcement, Wyatt rumorkiller, latest on KENTA-WWE, Santino's replacement, indie name debuts in NXT, WWE set for SDCC, former World Champion coming back, WWE press, Impact audience and Questions on Bret's F bomb, a new WWE Title, WWF vs. ECW and Santino

TNA announced a second season of British Boot Camp. A number of talents from the show will work internationally for TNA in 2015. I think TNA could be going increasingly international in the years to come if things don't start picking up in the States.

There's a photo going around that people are interpreting as Bray Wyatt turning face. The photo was taken after Cena escaped Rowan's grasp when Wyatt was swinging for Cena with the chair. Rowan moved to take the shot to his back. This is a really common spot in wrestling, so I'm disappointed so many people jumped to conclusions. I haven't seen anything to suggest a face turn for Wyatt.

The storyline in Japan is Hulk Hogan signing KENTA to WWE. I'm not really sure how that makes sense, but whatever. I guess it wouldn't make sense for the heel Authority to sign him.

Why WWE doesn't tape in MSG, more from Angle, NXT result from Japan, Interview with Rollins, Matt Hardy update, WWE earnings release set and Questions on unifying titles, the New Age Outlaws, Corey Graves, Tensai and the BFG Series

Jim Ross addressed why WWE doesn't often tape TV or PPVs from Madison Square Garden. Are the unions shooting themselves in the foot?

Here's more from Kurt Angle addressing his wrestling future. I'm glad he's not trying to gut through the pain in order to work full-time at risk to his long-term health. I'd love to see one last run in WWE, but I don't know how realistic that is.

Adrian Neville successfully defended the NXT Championship against Sami Zayn on WWE's live event in Japan. I think we could easily see both of those men on the main roster by this time next year.

Update: Neville, Zayn and Charlotte are all booked for next week's TV tapings, presumably for dark matches (although it'd be pretty funny to put one of them in the bunny suit). I'm impressed with Charlotte and think she'll be a great addition to things, but I think it's too soon for her to be brought up. Charlotte working with Flair as her manager would be great, though. Especially if she debuts as a face and later everything goes to her head and she turns on him.

Linda McMahon gave $1 million to a local hospital for better breast cancer detection. That's great!

The former Evan Bourne is set for a live YouShoot interview. I'd love to hear his side of the two suspensions and not returning from them.

NXT Champion Adrian Neville and top star Sami Zayn are working WWE's events in Japan. I wonder how soon KENTA will be working WWE events (and under what name). I think it might be a LITTLE soon for Zayn to be a surprise entrant winning the IC Title at Battleground, but that would be a hell of a debut. Neville's still got some time before I'd recommend bringing him up. I think he'd be lost in the Justin Gabriel/Tyson Kidd spot.

Naomi and Cameron have officially split as a team. I think they might surprise us with their matches.

Main Event Reax - 7/8/14, off-air Raw notes, Foley praises Santino, Raw guest, why one star wasn't on Raw, new WWE PPV matches, Punk update, WWE Network updates, Smackdown audience, Sting tease, WWE game concept art and Questions on Battleground's main event, the Funkadactlys, WWE's sponsorships, jumpstarting TNA and WWE owning names

Main Event:
I liked the intensity of the Sheamus/Del Rio pre-match promo. A last man standing match would be much more special if the match didn't just get thrown together. Anyway, I don't think it's time to unify the midcard titles. Maybe after we get six or seven more injuries in the next few months.

I think the kendo stick should be retired for a while. It seems like it's used in every hardcore match.

That was a pretty good match. I think that awesome powerbomb should have been the finish. Good work from both veterans.

I expected Y2J vs. Wyatt at Battleground, but it's still an exciting prospect.

Good promo from Jericho. He knows how to strike that balance between serious and comical.

Fine enough handicap match to get that storyline further along. Nikki's husband would have overcome the odds, but Nikki's not as lucky.

Ehhh... that post-match was good to keep that angle moving forward. I wonder how many "Total Divas" fans watched this.

On its most basic level, that segment was a good promo for the Network and a solid babyface moment for Hart and Jericho. There were several interesting moments for me:
1. Y2J namedropped Owen. I didn't expect that one, given how the company goes out of its way to not promote him.

2. Sandow namedropped Ted Turner and WCW. I guess that could have been to play off the Monday Night War series preview, but it was still crazy to hear in 2014.

3. Bret Hart is now emulating the Screwjob with himself as Shawn Michaels, and for laughs no less. That's mind-blowing given how big of a deal that used to be. There were concerns about physical safety for those who were in on it the night it happened. Bret actually punched Vince backstage. People quit. I know it's been 17 years and I'm glad he's moved on, but it's still weird to see.

Remembering the TNA Television Championship

A look back at the life and times of TNA's "illustrious" championship.

TNA signs Wrestle-1 star, Interview with WWE author, another big Network deal, Impact audience, WM30 special, new WWE board member, TNA taping update, more on Santino and Questions on no-compete clauses, move names, chants, Ambrose and fantasy booking

Sanada has signed a contract with TNA. He'll still make appearances in Japan, but he's now officially a TNA talent (instead of just being "on loan" from Wrestle-1). It will be interesting to see how far he makes it in TNA. His character is set to undergo some interesting changes in the weeks to come as the NYC shows air.

The author of "30 Years of WrestleMania" talked about working with Vince McMahon and more. I'm sure that's a pretty insightful read.

WWE is promoting a free week of the Network as they debut new content. No credit card needed. If someone isn't buying the Network by now, I really don't know what else they want.

WWE live event notes, TNA/Wrestle-1 results, WWE star retires and Questions on keeping Smackdown, ring padding, TNA as WWE Lite, Brock as WWE Champ and Big E

Since 3MB vs. Los Matadores can't be a thing now due to releases and an injury, things have been shaken up on live events. This weekend saw Sin Cara, Diego and El Torito beat Heath Slater, Titus O'Neil and Hornswoggle. I wouldn't read anything into it as far as a new 3MB or anything. They're just filling some spaces on a live event. Also of note, Tyson Kidd worked as a heel. He's been doing that pretty well in NXT (although it can be argued he's still a tweener).

The Wolves successfully defended the TNA Tag Team Championships in Wrestle-1. No surprise there. The Great Muta beat Sanada, who then teased leaving Wrestle-1.

Santino Marella announced his retirement from in-ring competition this weekend at a live event, citing neck issues stemming from multiple injuries. He is expected to remain in WWE in a non-wrestling role. I think he had a great run as far as making the most of that character. He's more memorable and got further than a good number of more serious-minded characters. I hope we still see him on TV here and there. As for his team with Emma, maybe now she can split off and be more in line with her NXT work since that's been a big sticking point with people.

Former X-Division Champion retires, WWE charity, TNA vs. Wrestle-1 press conference and Questions on Gut Check, loldirtsheets, The Dixie show, New Jack and Francine

Petey Williams wrestled what he claims is his final match recently against Chris Sabin. It didn't look like he was going to end up back in TNA or break through to WWE, so I can't say I blame him on those grounds. I popped hard for Williams' finisher in the Team Canada days. He really lost his direction after that group split.

WWE and Dolph Ziggler took part in a food drive in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. That's pretty cool.

Here are photos from a press conference promoting a Wrestle-1 event featuring TNA stars. Included in the press conference were relevant spoilers from the NYC tapings.

Cena replaced on big tour, top indy name to WWE?, WWE live event note and Questions on Leo Kruger, Lance Storm, TNA on Spike, Emma, ECW and New Jack

John Cena has been pulled from WWE's tour of Australia set for early August. Roman Reigns will be his replacement. No word on why the current WWE Champion isn't working those shows. He also isn't advertised for the stateside shows on those dates. I'm sure he'll benefit from the time off, but that's got to be a disappointment for some of the audience there.

Kevin Steen has announced his final matches with Ring of Honor, opening the door to further speculation of him going to WWE. He did work a tryout for WWE not too long ago, but there hasn't been any confirmation of him being signed. Him working WWE is a pretty intriguing idea, at any rate.

Paige worked as a heel on this past weekend's live events, losing to Natalya in Canada. I think that's probably a direction she'll take on the main roster for the feud with AJ and beyond. I look forward to it.

Interviews with Brodus/Paige/Y2J, TNA drops oft-ignored title, latest on GFW, Network notes including anticipated show debuting, WWE looking for more Aussies, WWE project on Hall of Famer and Questions on Ryback, Paige vs. AJ, rebooking MITB and the fallout to Cena's win

Brodus Clay talked about his WWE release and more. I actually liked Brodus being vocal in the ring. I also think we're seeing something of an indy scene revival, at least as far as there being some prominent indy names out there and a good number of places for them to work. Naturally quite a few of those indy names have gone to WWE or TNA. I think WWE's goals with the Brodus/Woods angle were just to give an out for Tensai to move to commentary and to bring Woods up to the main roster because they like using him for public appearances. I think it worked on those two fronts.

TNA, through Kurt Angle in his new on-screen role as director of wrestling operations, has declared the TV Championship "inactive". In other words, after nearly 400 days of Abyss being champion without defending it, the title has been retired. I think that's a good move as small as the TNA roster is nowadays.

Jeff Jarrett continues to be in TV deal negotiations for GFW. There's really no update on when this will see the light of day, but they've got some big names attached (namely Toby Keith). I'm taking a wait-and-see approach on how it actually turns out.

Injury update to top TNA name, TNA roster updates, TNA's UK announcement, Slammiversary plan, more NYC taping notes, more on Emma arrest, Bret Hart and Y2J dates, where's Mark Henry?, BNB update, Interview with Santino, why Roman has a title match, a look back at the last full year of ECW, Emma released and reinstated, WWE HQ scare, the effect of Cena winning on business and Questions on Vickie vs. The Authority, Orton vs. Rollins, wrestling props, RVD as champ and Orton as a Wyatt

This item references a TNA spoiler: Dixie Carter broke two small bones in her back due to the powerbomb she took from Bully Ray. This is considered a minor injury. Either way, this is expected to be the end of the Carter character. My opinions on that will depend on how things play out and what TNA has planned going forward.

Update: Tommy Dreamer is also expected to be done as an on-screen character. He will remain as a producer.

Bully Ray had a lot of pull with the creative plans at the NYC tapings, including suggesting Team 3D vs. the Hardys. That one should have been a no-brainer.

Main Event Reax - 7/1/14, more Cena promotion, TNA showing a Foley PPV, TNA visitor, new TNA producer, live notes from Raw, Emma arrested, Interview with Heyman, WWE press, Titus honored, Raw audience, more content added to WWE Network, Raw match, more on Bryan, NXT names in dark match, Ryder update, Vickie's life after WWE, Dreamer training and Questions on Owen, getting time off in WWE, Bryan's injury, Cena's booking and wrestling contracts

Main Event:
That was a pretty good opening segment. I'm glad the people involved all got mic time to put over the IC Title battle royal. The championship should be really important and worth winning.

The Wyatt Family are pretty over. It's cool to see.

Good match to re-establish Rowan and Harper after losing at MITB. They've got to be my favorite team in wrestling today.

Bleh. I couldn't care much less about Naomi vs. Cameron or Alicia vs. Nikki. Now that AJ is back, that's where my interest is.

I like Sheamus vs. Del Rio for the title. I know others aren't big fans of the two of them squaring off.

The Heyman/Cesaro segment was pretty cool. Heyman can get heat on anyone, and tying Cesaro's injury to Bryan and Barrett was clever.

Good main event! The IC Title match should be pretty good.

Query on TNA's six-sided ring, MITB notes including an injury, big WWE press conference, TNA press for UK fans, fallout from Cena's win, NXT injury notes, WWE main roster injury notes including Bryan update, WWE Network going up north, Angle update, Smackdown audience, Y2J update and Questions on gimmick PPVs, the Network, Great Muta and WWE authority figures

First up, a query:
1. TNA stopped using the six-sided ring when Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff came in. Getting rid of the "playpen" ring was part of their vision of the company. I actually like the four-sided ring better.

Randy Orton got 11 staples after the main event of Money In The Bank, and also banged up his arm. Obviously there are bumps and bruises inherent in the business, but it feels like injuries are becoming more common as big gimmick matches pile up.

Update: Orton underwent concussion testing before Raw. Obviously he competed that night, so he must have passed. I wonder what WWE would have booked for Battleground if he wasn't cleared.

Chris Nowinski, NFL's DeAngelo Williams and Josh McDaniels, ESPN's Robert Flores and Mick Foley's children were visiting at Money In The Bank. Foley notably wasn't there. I'm glad Nowisnki and WWE are on good terms.

WWE live event note, WWE press, Cougar Countdown, Interview with Austin, Devitt-WWE update, PPV feed issues and Questions on Cena vs. Brock, Mathews in TNA, Steen in WWE and TNA tapings

NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension worked another live event for the main roster, this time losing to Dolph Ziggler and Sin Cara. I wonder how their act will get over on the main roster.

Here's a piece on a recent WWE event. If you like live event pictures, check out that link.

WWE will be doing a special edition of Countdown on the Network remembering the WWE career of Vickie Guerrero. That's pretty cool. I wish her the best in post-WWE life. It's crazy thinking there's no Eddie, Chavo, Vickie OR Raquel Diaz there now. I believe there's been at least one Guerrero employed since the WCW buyout. Truly the end of an era in that sense.
