Questions on WWE dropping the ball, Edge acting, heel Punk, Raw's 20th anniversary, and Punk vs. Austin, Taker appearance, Sheik talks Olympics, more cameos to face Slater?, Kelly update, accident at Raw, Smackdown rating, and an update on Laurinaitis

For my take on PWInsider.com's Monday questions:
1. There are talents who are "over" who aren't being used for whatever reason (Ryder for instance). It's not entirely Creative/Management's fault (C.M. Punk has said that you don't "have" to follow the script and he ignores suggestions at times), but they don't get off without blame either since they ultimately decide who's on TV and live events, etc..

2.  I would think that WWE would have something where they own the rights to a character's name for acting as well (since they do their own movies), but that might only apply while someone's under contract. We'll see how things go if he continues to act post-WWE.

3. I'd love to see Punk retain over Rock to establish him as a true top guy, but I'd be surprised if they put him over Rock since Cena couldn't beat him.

NXT star works live event and Questions on Angle/Raw 1000, Sandow, Punk, chants, and Keller

Former FCW Champion Leo Kruger worked a Smackdown live event, losing to Justin Gabriel. They're both from South Africa, so it's natural that they'd feud.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. No word of them reaching out to TNA to get anyone for a cameo. The two sides are not on friendly terms right now.

2. Sandow got heat for interrupting DX and can now claim to be a martyr. I think it might end up being a good thing for him. It's not like they weren't pushing him beforehand and aren't pushing him now.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Query on Daffney-WWE, Questions on Kelly, Lilian, Divas, Tessmacher, and Taeler Hendrix, and more on Khali

First up, a query:
1. I believe Daffney has retired after her concussion in TNA, so no WWE for her.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. She tweeted that she was back on the road for Raw 1000, but obviously didn't appear then, so her future seems like it's still up in the air.

2. I can see them doing it given what they did with Adamle.

3. WWE feels that other segments and people are more important. A lot of fans agree. It's a self-defeating cycle, since they treat the division as filler and fans have been conditioned to agree.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Interviews with Jeff Hardy/Mysterio/Hebner/Lawler, Questions on contracts, Daffney, Traci, Universal Studios, and Batista, indie star to WWE rumor, Z! TLIS #77, Orton update, and Impact's rating

Jeff Hardy talked about a number of TNA and career topics, including if he'd ever return to WWE.

For my take on PWInsider.com's Friday questions:
1. Of course WWE (and TNA) try to get people to stay!  Ask C.M. Punk how far they'll go to keep someone they think they can make them money. Every case is different though, and we only know so much about the Bellas leaving.

2. There's a lot of misinformation out there about it, so it's hard to keep track of. I do know it's still going on, though.

3. Given her history with the company, I wouldn't rule out a comeback someday, but they weren't doing anything with her when they decided to release her.

4. I haven't heard of any other attractions causing problems, since they're usually in other parts of the resort.

Everything else is after the break.

Interviews with Riley/Stevens/Ryder, Jericho update, Questions on "newz" sites, touring groups, Blackhearts, Ring Ka King, Knockouts, and Garett, FCW name change, more on live Impacts, Knockout and Diva gone, and Khali has surgery

Cassady Riley and Chase Stevens talked TNA and more.

Chris Jericho is advertised for the Raw after Summerslam, so he'll at least be sticking around that long.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I hate sites that make up BS stories. It makes for a headache in determining what's real and what isn't. With so many of those sites around, it definitely hurts the overall medium.

2. That's crazy. I actually never knew that growing up since we must have had a big enough market to warrant getting the WWF Title.

3. I'm sure that team's gimmick sounded like a good idea to someone at the time, but I can see why it didn't work out!

Knockout leaving TNA?, After Raw 1000, Impact and Smackdown ratings, WWE PPV cut, Questions on Bischoff, Wellness violations, Schiavone, Off the Record, and Claire, Interview with Maxine, Austin update, and the Raw 1000 rating

Velvet Sky looks to be leaving TNA soon, which is kind of a shame given how popular of a babyface she is.

After Raw 1000, Cena and Rock ran off Big Show.

The 7/19 Impact did a 0.91. DirecTV was still not showing Viacom channels at that time.

The 7/20 Smackdown did a 2.04. Good buzz for WWE.

WWE will do Extreme Rules in May this year, advertised as the first PPV since WM29. It looks like Over The Limit might have been cut.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. I haven't seen anything linking Bischoff to it, as they've said. I don't think it would really add to the show to have Bischoff back any time soon.

Lots of Raw 1000 interviews, DiBiase returns, ex-TNA star works WWE live event, Questions on Cena vs. Punk, the NWA, and superkicks, more from Joey Ryan, and it's contract time for Team 3D

Jerry Lawler talked ahead of Raw 1000.

Variety looked at social media in WWE. Stephanie McMahon was in the piece.

USA Today talked about the show, too.

Ted DiBiase returned at a Smackdown live event that also included FCW's Xavier Woods (known in TNA as Consequences Creed).

Here's another look at social media and Raw from ESPN.

Everything else from Monday is after the break.

Monday, July 23, 2012

Interviews with JR/Ziggler/Vince/Vickie, Questions on Raw 1000, WWE's youth movement, MITB, and Cena vs. Punk, and Raw 1000 news (including possible cameos)

Jim Ross talked about the 1000th episode of Raw.

Dolph Ziggler talked about being cheered, working with Vickie, and more.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. We'll see tonight (or tomorrow in my case)! I think they've got enough cool stuff for it to work. I'm worried with how they're going to follow it all up in the weeks when they don't have DX, Lesnar, Rock, title matches, legends, and weddings.

2. I think we're seeing some degree of a youth movement as far as a lot of people getting pushed are closer to 30 than 40. It's going to take some time, but I think one day we'll see those names make their way up the card. The main one I'm worried about of that group is Ryder. Can he get more than a Santino push?

3. I've seen that debated and it was worth wondering. Maybe it broke because Jericho put all of his weight on it earlier in the match and that strained it?

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Questions on Del Rey, HHH's signings, Love, and Tessmacher, FCW talent on live events, and Raw 1000 hype

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions from yesterday:
1. WWE never lets someone work the indies while under contract to them unless they've already signed to do the appearances in question.

2. It looks like we're seeing kind of a shift in who gets signed. Generally we're seeing credible indie names get picked up instead of say, football players and fitness models.

3. Gail Kim and Tara came back so I wouldn't automatically assume she's done forever.

I hit everything else from yesterday after the break.

Queries on Gangrel and Shane McMahon, Interviews with Aries/Hart/Ziggler/Hennig/Rhodes/Henry/Vince, Questions on no-compete clauses, Knockouts, and MITB, and Aces and Eights speculation

First up, some queries:
1. When played backwards, Gangrel's theme song supposedly says "I buried Paul" in reference to an old Beatles urban legend. Funny stuff.

2. I'd like to think we'll see Shane McMahon make some kind of cameo some day, but I don't think he'll come back as a regular part of the company any time soon. Times could change, though.

Austin Aries talked to Newsday. He's right about using older names in the right way elevating newer stars.

Bret Hart talked on a number of WWE topics.

Dolph Ziggler spoke on a variety of topics going into Raw 1000. This guy's going places. He has pretty much everything you need to succeed in WWE if he can get fans to really hate him.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Query on NXT, Interviews with Lawler/Layla/Brodus/Ryder/Foley, Questions on not reading stories, OVW, and Team 3D's school, TNA signs Chavo, and a Cena update

First up, a query:
1. My guess is that WWE wants to save NXT for the upcoming WWE Network, where they can re-debut it fresh. I wish they aired it on WWE.com, too!

Jerry Lawler talked about 1000 episodes of Raw and more.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. I can see how that mistake could be made if someone's just looking at headlines.

2. Maybe you should ask him? @tonyschiavone24

3. To add to their answer, Robbie T/Rob Terry is working there now and more OVW talents are expected for Gut Check.

4. As far as I know. It is in sunny Florida after all. No word on if their refrigerator is running.

Query on TNA roster in WWE 13, Interviews with Arn/Ricardo/Anderson/Hardy/RVD/Tessmacher/Stephanie, Hogan update, Questions on Lesnar, the WWE Board, Christian vs. Orton, the BFG series, and timelines, JR at Raw 1000, TNA adding more live events? and changes in FCW's roster

First up, a query:
1. I would be downright shocked if anyone from the TNA roster appeared in WWE '13. TNA holds the rights to their appearances in video games.

Arn Anderson and Ricardo Rodriguez talked at Comic-Con.

Hulk Hogan is doing well after back surgery.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. That's my understanding of it, but I could be wrong. Lesnar might be opposed to such a schedule.

2. In kayfabe? Vince and Stephanie McMahon, I'd guess Triple H, and other people who haven't been revealed yet and might never be.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break!

Queries on Petey Williams and Tajiri, What happened during and after Raw, Questions on Hogan vs. Piper, Miz, Rashad Cameron, McGuinness, and Orton, Interview with Animal/Batista, names advertised for Smackdown, Aries update, Raw rating, Hart training, and advertised dates for Jericho and Lesnar

First up, some queries:
1. Petey Williams still works the indies, including Lucha Libre USA. If he weren't tied up there, I could see TNA being interested in him given their recent revival of interest in the X-Division.

2. Tajiri runs his own promotion in Japan now, so I don't think we'll see him back in WWE any time soon. There's always the rumor that he'll come back for the proposed Cruiserweight show, but it's just speculation at this point.

During a commercial break for Raw (after the mixed tag), The Miz called for a boss to complain to. This led to HHH appearing and giving him a Pedigree. How that does anything for the future of the business is beyond me.

After Raw, John Cena beat Big Show and Tensai. John Laurinaitis made an appearance, too.

Everything else is after the break!

Query on who runs TNA and Sin Cara, Questions on the Claire angle, the X Title, Do You Know, and broken necks, JBL/Daffney talk, and the Smackdown rating

Some queries:
1. Dixie Carter is TNA President. She has final say in the company. People like Hogan, Bischoff, Bruce Prtichard, Matt Conway, Bob Ryder, Jeff Jarrett, and the top wrestlers have say in things, but ultimately it's all up to her. Her mother keeps an eye on the company's finances as well, since she and Dixie's father are with Panda Energy, which owns TNA and could be argued to "run" it too.

2. Sin Cara is played by a wrestler known for his work in Mexico as Mistico. He hasn't been employed by WWE before in a previous role.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. I hate it. I've always found Daniels and Kazarian overrated, so I don't like them getting this much TV time in a bad angle. Styles isn't really one of my favorites either.

2. I agree with their take. I think it elevates the belt.

Everything else is after the break.

Raw Reax - 7/16/12

Read on for my segment-by-segment thoughts on Raw.

Blog time change

I've alluded to some changes upcoming to my life and the blog. So, here's the scoop: I'm starting a part-time job tomorrow night. Since I'll be working at times I'd normally be watching wrestling, I've decided that starting tomorrow all blog posts will be pushed back a day. So, Raws will be posted on Tuesday and so on. This also applies to news posts. I think it will be better for me overall to not be staying up past midnight every night with school approaching anyway. I apologize for any problems this causes.

Query on Paige, Questions on Wellness Testing, Flair, Kane, and HBK, Interviews with Sid/Waltman/Ryan Shamrock, and new WWE signings

First, a query:
1. NXT's Paige is an FCW prospect best known as Britani Knight. She competed in the UK before signing on to WWE.

For my take on today's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I haven't heard anything about them stopping testing for steroids. Sin Cara's suspension was for an injection for his knee that contained steroids.

2. I think if he does return, it will be on or after Raw 1000. I'd like to think that they wouldn't just put him out there as a former GM with no advertisement.

WWE Money In The Bank preview

Read on for how I'd book Money In The Bank.

Assorted WWE queries, Important WWE trademark lapses, Questions on ROH vs. Flair, Kelly Kelly, Sara Del Rey, ROH DVDs, and Destination X

To address some queries, there are no updates on the Hardy Boys, Tajiri, or Rhyno returning to WWE since the last time these topics were addressed.

I normally wouldn't talk about this, but since it's a slow news day: A LLC in New York has registered to trademark ECW for wrestling use after WWE has let the trademark slip. It will be interesting to see how that plays out legally with WWE owning the rights to Extreme Championship Wrestling.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. I haven't heard any different.

Everything else after the break.

Saturday, July 14, 2012

Questions on the Extreme Rising fight, Charlie Sheen, and ROH, why Hogan was written off, Vince talks Raw 1000, Z! TLIS #75, Impact rating, and a car accident

For my take on today's PWInsider.com questions:
1. If they haven't been by now, I don't see it happening.

2. I think they might be able to if he had a contract to tweet during the show.

Nothing to add to 3.

For 4, it sounds like ROH should be doing as was suggested.

Nothing to add to 5.

Read on for my segment-by-segment thoughts on Smackdown.

Queries on Lacey Von Erich and Cruiserweights, Interviews with Gunn/Mikey/Goldust/Booker/Ryan, Question on a TNA revival, and more on the Katie Vick angle

First up, some queries:
1. Lacey Von Erich left TNA to pursue a career outside the business.

2. The proposed WWE Cruiserweight show is part of the WWE Network, which means its status is still kind of up in the air at this point. If that does become a reality this year in some form, maybe the Cruiserweight show will get off the ground. Check back with another query in a month or so when there might be an update.

Here's more from Billy Gunn.

Mike Mondo, formerly Mikey of the Spirit Squard, talked WWE, ROH, and more. Here are some highlights. I like the way he thinks.

The former Goldust talked, too. I wish he was still teaching ring psychology in FCW.

Everything else is after the break.

Superstars and Impact Wrestling Reax - 7/12/12

Read on for my segment-by-segment thoughts on Superstars and Impact Wrestling.

Interviews with Show/Bryan/Sheamus, Sonnen rumorbuster, WWE agent update, Questions on Cena's promos, Lesnar, Ziggler, and GMs, and Dutt possibly signed

Big Show talked about Money In The Bank, hitting 40 and more. It looks like he'll keep on sticking around for years to come.

Daniel Bryan also talked MITB.  He's come a long way.

Chael Sonnen shot down the rumor that he's WWE-bound.

Finlay is officially back on the road as an agent/producer with WWE after finishing his indie commitments. Good to have him back.

For my take on today's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Most top guys have similar deals with cutting their promos. I think that he's earned the right to ad lib, but some of his stuff is really juvenile and bad. It's embarrassing that he's the top guy and he cuts those kinds of promos. We've come a long way from Rock, HHH, Austin, etc. at the top of the card.

Everything else is after the break.

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

More names for Raw 1000, Interviews with Aries/DDP/Roode/Santino/Ryback victim, Questions on Punk vs. Cena, Taker, Swagger, Tyson vs. Lesnar, and HBK, Kane busted open, HHH advertised again, what's being added to Raw, Raw rating, and an update on Rey

Mick Foley and Steve Blackman are expected for the 1000th episode of Raw.

Here are highlights from an Austin Aries interview.

DDP also talked after Raw. Another good read.

For my take on today's PWInsider.com questions:
1. That's just a rumor at this point. I know Punk has said that he wants to face off with Cena again, but I don't think it'd be wise to pit the two top faces against each other. I think Creative is of the same mindset.

2. I don't see it, since he hasn't worked anything close to full-time in quite a while and he's only getting older.

Everything else from today after the break!

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Queries on WWE changing ratings and Rhyno, Questions on Sting on CBN, Show's contract, WWF/E, ECW buying tables, and Heenan, WWE signing top female indie name and recent ROH performer, Impact rating, PAC update, more from Joey Ryan, TNA backstage sentiment, Dutt update, TNA to sign X-Division stars, Karen at Destination X, and the Friday Smackdown rating

First, some queries:
1. There continue to be no plans for WWE to go back to being TV-14. They like all the sponsors and deals they've gotten out of being family-friendly.

2. As far as I know, there are no plans for Rhyno to come back to WWE. The company just added him to the website like a lot of former talent.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. I'd only have an issue with it if he did it without WCW's permission, since it was their character he was portraying. Other than that, it's not much different from wrestlers appearing at political events during Smackdown Your Vote.

2. It's just a gimmick. I haven't seen anything about him signing any new, special contract.

Everything else is after the break.

Monday, July 9, 2012

Raw Reax - 7/9/12

Read on for my segment-by-segment thoughts on Raw.

Query on Shane buying TNA, another King update, Questions on TNA, WWE buying a network, Flair as WWE GM, Joey Ryan, and AJ, Dutt injury update, and a new WWE signing

First up, a query:
1. I don't see Shane McMahon buying TNA. While I think he still owns some stock in WWE, he's focused on his cable business in China.

Kenny King cleared the air about his leaving ROH to try out for TNA. I hope TNA picks him up on a more permanent basis.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. The last time I thought a World Title match could go either way was C.M. Punk vs. Chris Jericho at WrestleMania, since there was the theory that they'd do something to set up a big rematch in Punk's hometown. Turns out they didn't need to do a title switch. I don't see Aries vs. Roode being a long, drawn out feud.

2. I can see that being a better solution than starting from scratch, but don't know if WWE is thinking that way.

Everything else is after the break!

TNA Destination X Preview

Read on for how I'd book Destination X.

Z! TLIS #74, Questions on Sarita/Rosita, agents, iPPVs, Maryse, and an FCW star working live events

Here's episode #74 of Z! True Long Island Story.

For my take on today's PWInsider.com questions:
1. As far as I know, they're just not being used right now. With Anarquia gone, Mexican America is in shambles. Maybe we'll see them when Eric Young gets back from filming his Animal Planet show and defends the Knockouts Tag Team Titles.

2. WWE calls them "producers" but they do the same thing there. Sometimes with so many of them they give conflicting advice.

Everything else is after the break.

King update, Questions on WWE going overseas on the 4th, NXT Redemption, selling injuries, the Benoit tragedy, and Shannon Moore, FCW star update, Billy Gunn talks, and Smackdown's rating

Ring Of Honor released a statement about the status of Kenny King. That's a tough situation. He really better hope that TNA hires him after that.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I can understand what they're going for. If they can make more money overseas, I don't have a problem with them not running a show in the U.S. on the 4th. I imagine a lot of talents would rather e home on that day, though.

2. There is no official winner, as WWE stopped caring about the initial concept of the show. Bateman did technically get a spot on Season 6, but the new season doesn't have any kind of competition in the sense of previous seasons.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Friday, July 6, 2012

Query on Rosa Mendes, Interviews with Hart/Ryder/Bruno/Styles, Questions on Orton, Miz, the X-Division Title, and the TNA Hall, Raw rating, details on X-Division cameos, Destination X announcing change, and a new Destination X match

First up, a query:
1. I think Primo, Epico, and Rosa Mendes are still heels, though it is kind of unclear with their heel manager leaving.

Bret Hart looked back at Stampede Wrestling.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. I think Orton is in the top tier for WWE, but Punk (at least) tops him as the #2 guy. I'd think Mysterio would at least be close to him as well. But losing him would still be a big loss, no doubt about it. All those years winning championships and being in main events add up.

2. The word was that they were punishing him for his work not being as good as it was when he was a headliner, and for some of the comments his girlfriend Maryse had made about her release being WWE's loss. There was also the "not catching R-Truth" thing. I agree, though. Now's not the time to be knocking stars down pegs.

Everything else is after the break.

Superstars and Impact Wrestling Reax - 7/5/12

Read on for my segment-by-segment thoughts on Superstars and Impact Wrestling.

Questions on Raw 1K cameos, Sheamus, Edge, and Flair, Interviews with Ryan and Aries, and updates on FCW and Sabin

For my take on today's PWInsider.com questions:
Nothing to add to 1, so I'll start with 2. Rock might be busy and I'm also iffy on Batista. Taker seems like a somewhat safe bet given that he was on Raw #1.

3. You're certainly not the only one. I think there are some people who are like that with any top face. He's not doing anything that I feel like I HAVE to see. Just defending his title and kind of staying as a top guy- no big plans to have a long run or reinvent the wheel as champ.

4. Don't count on it. He seems pretty content to do things outside of WWE.

Everything else from today is after the break!

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Queries on Teddy Hart, Raw 1000, and the Cruiserweight show, Two former World Champions set to return?, what happened before and after Raw, Questions on Creative having nothing for you, Rhodes, Ziggler, TNA guys on WWE lists, announcers, and blog history, Interview with Roode, Bruno rumorkiller, and the identity of the fan Alberto attacked

Three queries today:
1. I don't know that we'll see Teddy Hart back in WWE after the problems he had last time. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but I wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon either.

2. No word on who the new Raw GM will be. It's possible that it's still being decided or they're able to keep it a secret.

3. Nothing new about WWE's proposed Cruiserweight show. That's really tied into the fate of the WWE Network. Right now WWE's talking of making the Network subscription-based, so the initial plans of making it something like OWN might have fallen by the wayside. If the Network does get off the ground (some are even skeptical of that), and they go ahead with the Cruiserweight show they'll hire people.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Love and Moore leave TNA, Questions on trades, Springsteen at Mania, the WWE Network, and rating matches, more names for Raw 1K, Interview with Christian, no Bruno in the Hall, Smackdown rating, and who played Doink

Angelina Love has asked for and been granted her release from TNA. She wasn't really doing much, so it's not a huge loss. I don't see WWE picking her up as she doesn't fit the traditional Diva mold.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't see WWE doing trades with anyone. They don't see any other company as in their league. And they'd have to get pretty peeved at Orton to trade him for a bunch of people who haven't drawn as much money.

2. I wouldn't put money on it happening unless there's a fat check involved.

Blog update

It looks like my computer has decided to break AGAIN, so I'm in for another involuntary hiatus it seems. As for the future of the blog, the fall is looking to be hectic with school and a "real" job, so I very well might be behind in posting if I can post at all. I don't want to stop blogging but I might need to if I want to make enough money to support myself and do my best in school. We'll see in August or so how I can handle it.

Query on WWE's finances, Hardcore Justice and Summerslam posters, Questions on the WWE/TNA lawsuit, the WWF, Richter, and allegations, and Nash out for Raw 1000

First up, a query:
1. There's nothing to indicate that WWE is approaching bankruptcy. They make well over $100 million every quarter. Things would have to get a LOT worse before bankruptcy was even thought about.

Here's the poster for TNA Hardcore Justice.

For my take on today's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't see how they wouldn't be able to sign people who were no longer under contract. Once the contract is up, you're free.

2. nWo Sting maybe?  It's easier to think of disguises that weren't convincing, like the second Sin Cara.

Everything else from today is after the break!

Query on TNA-Raw, Z! TLIS #73, Questions on MMA coverage, Eve, chairs in ECW, eating before a match, and signing with WWE, another Lesnar appearance, and an Interview with Rhodes

First up, a query:
1. I definitely don't think we'll see anything TNA-related on the 1000th Raw, or on any WWE show any time in the near future given their ongoing lawsuit. Even without the lawsuit, it was unlikely.

Here's episode #73 of Z! True Long Island Story.

For my take on the day's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I get their stance. Had I more time to put into the blog, I might cover more non-wrestling things too.

2. If she refused, WWE wouldn't have looked too kindly on it and it wouldn't bode well for her career. I don't think she'd necessarily be fired, but I don't think they'd be happy about it.

After the break, I hit everything else from today.
