Plenty of Mania hype and interviews, Honky Tonk Man interview, Impact post-show, more Mania visitors, new name possibly involved in WWE's "finishing program", why participants in the 12-man tag were changed, Questions on Bryan/AJ, managers, the trashed Women's title, and Madusa in the Hall, Z! TLIS #60, new WWE tag team, Lesnar-WWE update, Sheamus does more anti-bullying work, WWE/YouTube relationship profiled, Impact rating, TNA-country music crossover, Mania pre-show match, and Cena talks bullying

WWE's YouTube page continues to feature quite a bit in the way of WrestleMania-related videos.

Here's a preview of an interview with the always-controversial Honky Tonk Man. He makes good points.

C.M. Punk was interviewed about Chris Jericho. I think he's right about the "the man" comments. Not that Jericho isn't immensely talented.

Mick Foley talked about his favorite WrestleMania moments and more. Good read.

Here's the post-show for Thursday's Impact Wrestling.

Terry Funk has had to pull out of AXXESS due to not being physically ready to travel after a second knee replacement surgery.

Add The Miz's girlfriend Maryse to those visiting at WrestleMania. Timbaland appeared at the Mania premiere party as well.

After the break, I go into everything else from Friday, including PWInsider.com's questions. Next up, Zack Ryder's interviewed.

Smackdown thoughts - 3/30/12

It's two nights from WrestleMania, which means a LOT of Mania hype tonight from AXXESS. There's also Zack Ryder vs. Drew McIntyre and Chris Jericho vs. Kofi Kingston. Read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens!

Friday, March 30, 2012

Query on a Raw dark match, more Mania/HoF promotion including discussion of blood and WM28 vs. WM3, Questions on Taker being out of the title picture, the more-than-Four Horsemen, indies ahead of WM29, Knockouts in a cage, and the Pope, Windham update, Austin Q&A, Finkel interview, Sting re-signs with TNA, and Angle injured

Since someone asked about it: To the best of my knowledge, there was no Raw dark match this week. They taped more stuff than they usually do on Mondays so they could head out to Miami for WrestleMania (Smackdown will be taped at AXXESS). This is also why NXT and Superstars were somewhat lacking in in-ring action this week. When there are two tapings in a week (and Smackdown isn't live), they're more likely to do dark matches.

There were plenty of Mania-related videos posted on WWE's YouTube channel, including stars answering Twitter questions.

Sheamus was interviewed in Baltimore. It's especially fun to imagine him saying those things in his signature accent.

Arn Anderson talked about being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame and more.

Jerry Lawler talked in Miami.

As for my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. As they said, sometimes a character is a big enough draw that they don't need to be in the title picture to be useful. John Cena's in a similar position now.

After the break, I go into everything else from Thursday. Next up, a question on inducting other Horsemen.

Superstars and Impact Wrestling thoughts - 3/29/12

Just three days from WrestleMania, WWE has a brand new episode of Superstars. This week, Heath Slater goes up against Alex Riley. Then, on Impact Wrestling, TNA's bringing forth Matt Morgan vs. Crimson, Madison Rayne vs. Velvet Sky and Mr. Anderson vs. Jeff Hardy. But could they be looking at a new GM in Hulk Hogan? Read on for my thoughts on the shows as they happen.

Query on Gangrel's music, Questions on resentment towards HHH/Taker, Cena on house shows, explaining Kane's actions (again), replacing WWE's top stars, and what TNA gets out of Flair in the Hall, plenty more on Mania, Menounos update, history of Mania go-home ratings, more on Kamala's health issues, more ex-Creative members talk, Mysterio update, and even more Mania stuff

To follow up a news item from the other day, someone asked about Gangrel's old theme music. I believe when played backwards, it says "I buried Paul". If that's true, it's likely a reference to the old "Paul is dead" Beatles conspiracy theory. Pretty clever. As alluded to, Al Snow's theme music has a backwards message as well. It has a female voice (who some speculate to be "Head") saying "I am the one in control". Do musicians still do the whole "backwards message" thing?

For my take on the 3/28 PWInsider.com questions:
1. I wondered this as well! They make a point, though. Those three haven't been at "that level" for as long as HHH and Taker. Which I have no problem with because that means they've been working to get the next generation further over instead of just popping in here and there and being main eventers.

2. I definitely see their point. I think WWE would counter that people want to see Cena ahead of Mania. Little Jimmy would be disappointed with a live event that didn't have him in a big match. It's basically a vicious cycle and them putting a lot of eggs in the same basket. Again.

3. Something like that, yes. Kane's a twisted psychopath. He'd rather be a monster, and Mark Henry is the one who made him a monster by taking him out. They could have done a better job of explaining it, but that's how I see the story. Kane's looking to make up for him being weak and "human" by going after Orton (and doing what his "human" self couldn't do).

After the break, I go into everything else from Wednesday. Next up, planning for a worst-case scenario.

NXT thoughts- 3/28/12

We're on the road to WrestleMania, but you'd never tell from NXT's storylines. This week, we get the aftermath of the kidnapping of Matt Striker and the main event will feature Derrick Bateman going up against Smackdown's Hunico. Titus O'Neil faces Jey Uso as well. Read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens.

Austin/Punk teased for WM29, HIAC PPV set, plenty of Mania hype, Questions on wrestling auctions, Rock/Cena or Rock/Hogan, Wellness violations, and the new branch of developmental, profile of WWE's business, video of Raw aftermath, Jake Roberts talks Hall of Fame, HoF induction change, WWE visitors, FCW cameo on Raw, preview of Impact Wrestling, Sabin cleared to return, more TNA Gut Checks, WWE/TNA/Flair updates, Raw rating, more from former member of WWE Creative, FCW stories on Steamboat and Leavine, and the rating for the Rock/Cena special

Stone Cold and C.M. Punk have continued their teases of clashing at WrestleMania 29 on Twitter "if all the stars align". I'd certainly like to see it, in a match that would make Punk a megastar.

The 2012 Hell in a Cell PPV will be on 10/28 in Atlanta.

The Chicago Tribune had another good interview with C.M. Punk. He definitely beats to his own drum, which is very refreshing. There are a lot of fans (and potential fans) who are more in his mold than Cena's, and WWE should run with less "clean-cut" corporate-approved stars in places.

For my take on Tuesday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I pretty much agree with their take. I don't think wrestling has THAT big of an audience. Ric Flair's robe from WrestleMania 24 (his "retirement" match) could be a big sell, since it is (was?) in the Smithsonian. The original NWA Championship would also be something that I'd think could be big. I'm sure I'm missing something. WWE and TNA have official auctions if that's your thing. I don't know how much it sold for, but WWE seriously sold the cheerleader outfit from the Katie Vick angle.

2. I definitely think the match will be a big emotional rollercoaster, but for the reasons they mentioned Rock vs. Hogan is bigger. It will still be one of the biggest matches in years, though.

3. To add a little bit to this, the second suspension was believed to be for something other than synthetic marijuana (though it still counts). That used to just be a fine, but they changed their tune not too long back. Either way, any suspension counts.

After the break, I hit everything else from Tuesday. Next up, will WWE team an established indie promotion for their "finishing program" in the Northeast?

Plenty of Mania hype, change in WWE TV tapings, Questions on a physical WWE Hall, Miz at Mania, Chyna's adult films, and replacing Cena, more from Shane Douglas, head of WCW Power Plant interviewed, video of Arn tribute, Tyson interview, Mania celeb hurt, JoMo mocks HHH/Taker, WWE has a meeting on Twitter, Puerto Rican visitor for WWE, WM29 rumor shot down, ex-Creative member talks McMahon family and more, Smackdown's rating, and what happened after Raw,

Beth Phoenix talked ahead of WrestleMania. I'm not hugely surprised that they're not going with a Divas Title match on the card this year given how hot-and-cold they are with the division. As big as things were for Beth a number of months back, though, it would have seemed a certainty.

The Bella Twins also promoted the big show. Well... kind of. It was more about fashion and other "softball" fare.

The Rock was part of a piece in Variety. Here are some highlights.

Because of it being WrestleMania week, WWE filmed all of NXT, Superstars, and Raw on 3/26. Smackdown will be taped Thursday at AXXESS and will likely feature a lot more in the way of video packages than matches. Things will almost certainly return to normal next week (1/2 of Superstars before Raw, all of NXT and the other 1/2 of Superstars before Smackdown).

For my take on Monday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. They definitely bring up good points. While a physical WWE Hall of Fame would be quite awesome, it wouldn't necessarily be profitable and that's what's going to ultimately determine whether they should do it. There was also WWE Niagara Falls that was eventually closed. Kind of a shame, really.

After the break, I go into everything else from Monday. Next up, The Miz at WrestleMania.

Raw thoughts - 3/26/12

It's the final Raw before WrestleMania XXVIII. The Rock, John Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker are all under one roof tonight. If that doesn't sell tonight's show, I don't know what will. Read on for my thoughts on it as it happens.

Monday, March 26, 2012

Queries on Kane, David Hart Smith, and Russo-WWE, more live event tryouts, Cena talks Rock, Arn Anderson interview, more from JoMo, Questions on Sheamus, Nigel McGuinness, Laurinaitis vs. Long, Shaq, and Hogan, Punk Q&A, Sheamus busted open, more Mania hype, Waltman talks about Rock criticism, possible Mania change, Sheamus interview, and a pretty cool moment with Arn Anderson

Some queries for the weekend news post:
1. WWE likely books Kane the way that they do (ultimately losing to Cena and possibly Orton) because he's 44 and been taking bumps for 20 years. He probably doesn't have many years left in WWE, so they're using him to elevate the younger headliners. That's smart business in my book. Kane's a great worker and company guy, but they need to be thinking long term. And 5 or so years from now, it's more likely that the guys currently under 35 will be around than the one who would be closing in on 50.

2. While I wouldn't rule it out for down the line, I don't see why WWE would bring back David Hart Smith. If they couldn't come up with what to do with him when he was released, I don't see that changing now. Quite the talented guy, so are a number of other that WWE has let slip through the cracks.

3. I definitely don't see Vince Russo going back to WWE. Given the issues he had with them last time he tried to go there (before his first TNA run), I don't think he'd be a good fit.

At this weekend's Raw live event in Puerto Rico, Leo Kruger, Ryback, and Ricardo Rodriguez all wrestled. Ricardo teamed with Alberto. I don't know if they're thinking of putting him in the ring full-time, but I definitely think he can get over handsomely as a comedy character. Kruger's a former FCW Champion I haven't heard much on, and Ryback used to be Skip Sheffield.

After the break, I go into everything else from the weekend. Next up, John Cena talks about his differences with The Rock.

Three matches set for next week's Impact, DiBiase update, interviews with Gangrel, DDP, and JoMo, Questions on holding the WWE Title, Taker/Austin, WCW DVDs, and WWE-OVW, more on the state of WWE developmental including FCW talents working AXXESS, Layla update, who's inducting at the HoF, important TNA exec recovering from heart attacks, Edge interview, Ziggler promotes live event, more Mania promotion, Z! TLIS #59, Impact Wrestling rating, Hart talks Hogan, Big Show interview, why the Nash angle got derailed, AJ the Marvel Fangirl, and why Cena's character is what it is

The following matches have been set for Impact Wrestling:
Matt Morgan vs. Crimson
Mr. Anderson vs. Jeff Hardy
Madison Rayne vs. Velvet Sky
I only really care about that first one.

Ted DiBiase posted a video update about his recovery from surgery. Good for him for keeping his name out there while he's off of TV. How well he hits the ground running after his return will be pretty important in where his career goes from here.

Gangrel was interviewed on a number of things. I like the Territory League concept, teaming veterans with newcomers. That can be quite helpful. That music and entrance was pretty badass. Al Snow's old theme song also has a backwards message. Spooky.

DDP was also interviewed. I'm very high on Christian as well.

Here's Part 3 of "Cut that promo" with John Morrison. Funny opening story.

After the break, I go into everything else from Friday. Next up, PWInsider.com's questions.

Smackdown thoughts- 3/23/12

Tonight on Smackdown, the WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Champion will be in the same ring at the same time. C.M. Punk teams with Sheamus to take on Daniel Bryan and The Miz. WrestleMania's just around the corner. Who will get the upper hand heading to Miami? Read on for my thoughts an this and everything else from the show as it happens.

Sunday, March 25, 2012

Morgan, Cena, and Billy Gunn interviews, Questions on Douglas' run-in, FCW, Tod Gordon's book, and HBK, Jericho on Fallon, Joe Blanchard passes, more Mania cameos, JoMo update, more on FCW, Masters interview, more Twitter fun from Angle, Rock interview, Diva returns, and the post-Impact show

Matt Morgan talked ahead of a TNA live event. He handled himself really well. Props to him for doing so well with his condition.

John Cena was once more interviewed ahead of WrestleMania (specifically ahead of last week's Raw). Very good to hear his insights on those things. Great guy. I like his endorsements as well.

Billy Gunn was interviewed on a number of things, too. I think he hit the nail on the head about the tag team division. I also miss the Attitude Era's great storylines. We have damn solid wrestling a lot of times, but not as much in the way of really good angles compared to the past. There are times when they get something good started, but they ultimately don't become what they should be.

For PWInsider.com's Thursday questions:
1. Given how few people noticed (I wouldn't have at all if it wasn't reported online), I also don't think they really succeeded. As for him cutting a promo outside of Raw, that wouldn't have gotten nearly as much attention as disrupting the show. It was admittedly a clever idea in some ways.

Nothing to add to 2. As for 3, they didn't. They only reported that they couldn't confirm rumors about that happening. Which would make sense, because it's not happening. I similarly reported that those were rumors that hadn't been confirmed.

After the break, I go into everything else from Thursday. Next up, why Tod Gordon's ECW book never got off the ground.

Superstars and Impact Wrestling thoughts - 3/22/12

Today on WWE Superstars, Eve Torres gets in the ring in a tag team match against Natalya and Tamina. Seriously, that's all WWE advertised. For Impact Wrestling, there's the follow-up to the big Bobby Roode vs. Sting match as well as three title matches. Who will be X-Division, Tag Team, and Knockout Tag Team Champions as we start the countdown to Lockdown? Read on for my thoughts on the shows as they happen.

Saturday, March 24, 2012

Queries on Chyna, Homicide-WWE, and Snooki, JoMo interview, Questions on heat for Miz/Show, Eve turning heel, the "30-day rule", chair shots, the brand extension, and ROH, WWE developmental update, more Mania press, Angle Twitter rant, new HoF member official, more insults for Lilian Garcia, Piper talks WM28/Piper's Pit, Waltman talks up FCW stars, and a Daniel Bryan interview

Some queries to start the 3/21 news:
1. I don't see Chyna returning to either WWE or TNA any time in the near (or even not very near) future. Neither were pleased by her adult film endeavors (and WWE likely wouldn't have picked her back up even without those given some of her comments and actions over the years).

2. No word that I'm aware of on Homicide going to WWE. He mentioned in an interview years back that he'd be on-board to go there, but that's all I've really seen on the matter. He wouldn't be able to use that name for copyright reasons (nor do I think WWE would want him to, given its connotations), but I think he could add to the company. If the WWE Network and its Cruiserweight show get off the ground, that could be a good fit for him.

3. I wouldn't count on Snooki wrestling again, though Mania is in the NJ area next year so I wouldn't rule it out either. Mainstream attention's something WWE likes for big events, so maybe she'll end up back in the ring next year.

Here's Part 1 of an interview with the former John Morrison. Good comment on what makes a promo successful, and sadly true at times.

After the break, I go into everything else from Wednesday. Next up, PWInsider.com's questions, beginning with backstage heat on particular performers for almost causing injuries.

Friday, March 23, 2012

NXT thoughts- 3/21/12

This week on NXT, Maxine continues to seek power in her relationship with William Regal, and Tyson Kidd looks for revenge against Michael McGillicutty. What else will go down on the show? Read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens.

Raw dark match, Questions on Justin Gabriel, Rock/Cena vs. Rock/Hogan, Wellness strikes, Lesnar returning, and Flair at the WWE HoF, FCW clarification, more on Douglas crashing Raw, WWE switches around live events, RVD update, what happened after Raw, Bourne and DiBiase updates, more with Bret Hart, Daniels and Swagger interviews, Swagger apperance profiled, Head of Creative not at Impact, TNA champion's contract up soon, more on Bischoff vs. Borash, why TNA was Twitter-happy on Sunday, Cena promotes Mania, Christian interview, more channels showing Rock/Cena special, Raw rating, Angle on for Lockdown, Hall of Famer visits at Smackdown, No Way Out returns with new concept, Legends Roundtable talk on Rock vs. Cena, and the post-Smackdown dark match

The dark match from the 3/19 Raw taping saw Brodus Clay beat Michael McGillicutty. Remember when Clay was the talk of the wrestling world and was really gaining momentum?

For my take on the 3/20 PWInsider.com questions:
1. Maybe in time. I've liked a good deal of what I've seen from him, but we're still pretty early in his WWE career. I wouldn't count it out, though. He's definitely got potential to rise above where he is now.

2. I don't think so either. With all due respect to the competitors involved, I don't know if they're as big as Hogan and Rock in '02. Hogan wasn't as far removed from the wrestling spotlight as Rock was pre-comeback. As for their gripe, WCW's credibility was already pretty dead when WWE bought it for dirt-cheap in 2001. That angle was never going to be what people wanted it to be. Too many egos and big-money contracts to work with.

Nothing to add to 3 other than it would be very unfortunate if another great performer's career was wrecked by drugs.

After the break, I go into everything else from Tuesday. Next up, a question on the potential return of Brock Lesnar.

Thursday, March 22, 2012

Impact Wrestling preview, Questions on the GMs feuding, Punk's father, a more edgy WWE, Vince's worth, and Brandon Jacobs, TNA loses national DVD distribution, Cena in car accident, Maria Kanellis and Nash interviews, Lockdown in theaters, WWE assists Seacrest in charity endeavor, YouShoot with Shane Douglas trailer, Smackdown rating, Ryder rally, formatting change for Raw, WWE-OK update, Shane Douglas attempts to crash Raw, identity of Lord Tensai, and some pre-Mania publicity appearances

Two title matches have been made for Impact:
Austin Aries vs. Kid Kash vs. Zema Ion vs. Anthony Nese
Eric Young and ODB vs. Rosita and Sarita.

The first one should be good. The second one, I'm not as confident about. Looks like Sarita and Rosita are back as a team, though. Where are Hernandez and Anarquia?

As for my take on the PWInsider.com questions from 3/19:
1. For once, an answer other than something like "That's creative for you!!". I'm guessing the reason they're feuding has more to do with them wanting a reason to put 12 people on the Mania card in a match that actually has something on the line. I also think it won't be too awful long before we end up back with two GMs. I also have the speculative theory (i.e. I haven't seen anything to support it) that with Laurinaitis' backstage responsibilities, they need to write him off of TV so he can focus on that and that's why they're feuding.

2. I certainly see why they threw it in. Of course he's not going to have a return as big as the guy who's been gone for a lot longer (and doesn't wrestle most weeks). They can still use that to set up a rematch for Extreme Rules. It's in Chicago, so that could factor in.

After the break, I go into everything else from Monday, starting with a question on WWE going less PG.

Raw thoughts - 3/19/12

Tonight on Raw, John Cena will face off with the World's Strongest Man Mark Henry. The Undertaker, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels will all be in the ring at the same time, and The Rock has a surprise for Philly. Read on for my thoughts on all this and more as it happens.

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Questions on Rock/Cena promos, unifying the top titles, Rock post-Mania, and the best year for WWE, RVD update, Rhodes joins Twitter, Cena talks Rock, Punk visits a WWE warehouse, Slammiversary set, and what happened after Victory Road

For the 3/18 edition of PWInsider.com's questions, here's my take:
1. The only thing I can really add here is that while the storyline is rooted in reality to some degree, there won't be any kind of "going off-script" as far as one of them legitimately trying to hurt the other at Mania. There's a difference in business philosophies, but they don't "hate" each other.

2. Michaels also had the World Title when it was just on Raw, but I see what you're getting at. I don't think they should combine the titles. I like the idea of there being a top prize on each brand worth fighting for (for it to work better, brands should be more separate - like the American League and National League in baseball where there's some interplay but not all the time like now). I agree that they should work on elevating younger guys. Like maybe give C.M. Punk the WWE Title and have him face Chris Jericho at WrestleMania. Or, say, Cody Rhodes could have a long reign as Intercontinental Champion and face the Big Show. Or even Daniel Bryan becoming World Champion, facing Sheamus (who would win the Royal Rumble). Obviously all those ides are farfetched, though, because WWE doesn't elevate younger talents. I'm tired of the big roles for Cena and Orton, who are like, what, 45?

After the break, I go into everything else from Sunday, starting with a question on future feuds for The Rock.

TNA Victory Road thoughts

TNA had some big title and grudge matches on Sunday, setting the stage for next month's big Lockdown event. Read on for my thoughts on the show as it happened!

TNA Victory Road preview

Yes, a preview of a show that's already happened. Read on for how I would have booked the show (without knowledge of how it actually went down).

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Warrior talks, Questions on WWE vs. Nintendo, Heyman returning, the Hall of Fame, former Intercontinental Champion back in WWE?, Cena appearance, Morgan interview, WWE flight issues, more on Oklahoma wrestling ban, next TNA celebrity cameo, and potential FCW call-ups post-Mania

Ultimate Warrior talked about Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon, and more.

For my take on the 3/17 PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't suppose so. If they had claimed the character was WWF-approved or Randy Savage himself, maybe they would have.

2. Things seem less and less likely on that front every year. He didn't get the offer he wanted from TNA, and I don't think he'd want to go back to the WWE machine. He doesn't get along with Jim Cornette, so theoretically that rules out ROH as well. If he wanted to do something else (like found a new company), presumably there would have been some indication of that by now. So, I don't see it happening any time soon (if at all).

3. To throw some other names in the mix, how about Dick Ebersol or Bonnie Hammer? I think both deserve credit for what wrestling is today TV-wise.

Nothing to really add to 4 or 5 that hasn't been covered recently, so I'll move on after the break. Next up, could another Attitude Era name be coming back to WWE?

Impact Wrestling post-show, Lilian's wardrobe mishap, '90s WWF wrestler does art exhibit, Questions on the KO tag titles, bounties, broken limbs, Tamina, and long title reigns, McGuinness talks not getting into WWE, Menounos update, Z! TLIS #58. Impact Wrestling rating, and Ryder returns to the ring

Here's the post-show to the 3/15 edition of Impact Wrestling, with a number of interviews pushing Victory Road.

Lilian Garcia's shoe broke on the way to the ring at the 3/13 Smackdown taping. WWE naturally posted mocking footage of it. That was...something...

The former Damien Demento talked about an upcoming art exhibit of his. I don't see a WWE return for him.

PWInsider.com had new questions on 3/16. Here's my take:
1. I think it'll continue as long as someone in TNA Creative (and to some degree the audience) is amused by it, or they run out of ideas for them as champions. Long story short, I don't think it's just going to be a "transitional" reign to put the titles on someone else.

There's nothing to add to 2, since I've also heard the stories by Iron Sheik. 3 refers to a legendary angle as they mentioned. C.M. Punk paid homage to it as he and the Straight Edge Society "broke" Big Show's hand. We need more angles that awesome in wrestling today.

After the break, I go into everything else from Friday. Next up, a question on pushing Tamina.

Smackdown thoughts- 3/16/12

Tonight, Christian returns to Smackdown, and he's bringing the Peep Show with him. His special guests will be none other than the two men sponsoring warring factions at WrestleMania, John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long. How will these combustible elements interact 16 nights before their positions are on the line? Plus, Chris Jericho goes one-on-one with Sheamus in a battle of WrestleMania #1 Contenders. Read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens.

Query on the Hardy Boys-WWE, Joey Styles interview, Hart shoots down HoF rumor, Rock/Cena special update, Kevin Sullivan interview, Questions on AJ Styles-WWE HoF, Kane vs. Aksana, Divas, and Brie vs. Nikki, Edge and Vader interviews, FCW signee profiled, Rock on Seacrest, HBK on ESPN, new celeb match at Mania, and a Bret Hart interview

The news for 3/15 starts with a query:
1. No word on a Hardy Boys return to WWE. I wouldn't put a high probability on it. While Matt did return to the ring not too long ago, I haven't heard him change his stance on no longer being a full-time wrestler (and I'm not so sure WWE would take him back under a reduced schedule). While I'm proud to say that life seems to be improving for him post-rehab, I don't know if WWE's willing to take another chance on him just yet. The older he gets, the less likely I think it will happen. Jeff's still in TNA, and I haven't seen anything to suggest that that will change anytime soon. He's pretty much a major player there.

Never one to shy away from controversy, Joey Styles gave his opinions on a number of recent news topics. He should do shoots like Jim Cornette. I think it might be a little early to put in Paul Heyman, and Bill Apter would be an odd fit in the WWE Hall of Fame. JR definitely should call HHH/Taker to put a bow on the whole thing. I don't blame Cole as much as WWE Management's direction for him. There's way too much arguing on the announce teams at the expense of the talents in the ring. NXT and Superstars I generally have no problem with announcing-wise, but the main shows at times have me wanting to pull my hair out.

Bret Hart shot down the rumor that he'll be inducting Yokozuna into the 2012 Hall of Fame class, stating that he hadn't been contacted on the matter. It might have just been talk of asking him that never materialized.

The USA Network special on The Rock vs. John Cena will be called "Rock/Cena - Once In A Lifetime". It will air before the 3/26 Raw. There's got to be more than one match in this feud.

After the break, I go into everything else from 3/15, including PWInsider.com's questions. Next up, Kevin Sullivan talks.

Superstars and Impact Wrestling thoughts - 3/15/12

Today on WWE Superstars, Divas' Champion Beth Phoenix faces off with the ex-champion Kelly Kelly. Which blonde bombshell will reign supreme? Then, on Impact Wrestling, Mr. Anderson returns to the ring against Christopher Daniels before Sting and Bobby Roode sign a contract for their match at Victory Road. All this and more. Read on for my thoughts on the shows as they happen.

Saturday, March 17, 2012

Sorensen update, MLB player returning to TNA?, more on Woerhle, more TNA employees defend Borash, Questions on elevating Santino, Robbie E, Rock's return, Punk vs. Bryan for both titles, and Cena "killing angles", possible Mania spoilers, Bourne update, no more wrestling in Oklahoma?, Austin and Kurrgan interviews, more on the 2012 Draft, Sheamus in Sydyney, Tough Enough alums talk, WWE CFO makes presentation, TNA return, and celebrities in attendance at Mania

Jesse Sorensen's healing process is said to be going along quite well. Good to hear after a really scary moment last month.

The White Sox' AJ Pierzynski and Dale Torborg (formerly the KISS Demon in WCW) teased a return to TNA. Meh.

Here's more on the life and times of Dick Woerhle. Seems like he was a great guy.

More TNA workers have (privately and anonymously) expressed their support of Jeremy Borash following Eric Bischoff's comments. He's done a lot for the company since the earliest days of its existence, so that's to be expected. Very curious to see what consequences (if any) this will have for Bischoff.

As for my take on PWInsider.com's 3/14 questions:
1. People complain when WWE doesn't push new stars, and then they complain when they do. While I also don't think he's over enough and ready enough to be in the WWE/World Title picture, he could end up proving us wrong. He's catching on pretty well, and them cutting out his momentum any time soon would be counter-productive to say the least. Unless this question was about him being a more "serious" wrestler, which I would hope they don't do anytime soon given how well people respond to him now.

2. It sucks if they're thinking of dropping the character. If the current creative team can give as much TV time as they do to EY and ODB, I think they might be ok with him. He's defending the title at Victory Road at least.

After the break, I hit everything else from Wednesday, starting with a question on The Rock's comeback.

NXT thoughts - 3/14/12

And, we're back! William Regal puts on another edition of NXT this week, headlined by a mixed tag match featuring Maxine and Johnny Curtis vs. Derrick Bateman and Kaitlyn. How will the most entertaining people on the show fair in the ring after so many segments and vignettes? Also, Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks continue to try make a name for themselves on WWE's unofficial 3rd brand. Plenty more's on the card. Read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens!

Bischoff runs down Borash but Magnus defends him, more on Woehrle, Mania celebrity update, Rock and Booker interviews, Question on HHH being subject to the Welness Policy, Santino, Rhodes, Ryder, and HBK, Cena makes a wish, DiBiase update, Kamala and Orndoff talk, Raw rating, Z! TLIS# 57, and the Smackdown dark match

Eric Bischoff took some serious shots at Jeremy Borash. Apparently Borash claimed at a bar that he was one of the owners of TNA, which Bischoff took offense to. The comments weren't received well by long-time TNA employees and fans, as Borash has done a lot of work there over the years (on- and off-screen). Bischoff's taken issue with Borash before, calling him a "mark". This is definitely something TNA should treat as an issue. A member of management running down a long-time employee in a public place (yes, the Internet is considered a public place) is more than a little troublesome.

Update: a number of TNA performers have expressed their support of Borash, and wishes that Dixie Carter would reprimand him (while not expecting that to happen). Magnus did so publicly via Twitter.

Referee Dick Woehrle passed away because of complications due to colon cancer at the age of 81.

As hinted at on Raw, Maria Menounos of Extra will appear at WrestleMania in some capacity. More on this in upcoming posts.

Update: the angle for it was filmed on Wednesday.

The Rock was interviewed ahead of Raw. Twice.

Booker T. was interviewed in Miami. He knows what he's talking about.

For my take on the 3/13 edition of PWInsider.com's questions and the rest of Wednesday's news, hit the break. First up, Is HHH subject to the Wellness Policy given his backstage roles?

Questions on Kane ignoring Henry, Cena/Punk vs. Rock/Jericho, Kane/Taker, Shaq at Mania, and Laurinaitis, new WreslteMania match, Bourne update, Jacob Novak and Angle interviews, Sorensen update, Riggs interview, Yokozuna-HoF update, Trish talks females in wrestling/MMA, Raw promotion, Destination X set, ex-TNA name gets WWE tryout, new Victory Road match, Smackdown taping moved, FCW talent at TV tapings, Smackdown rating, ex-WWF referee passes, Storm has surgery, and what happened after Raw

The news for 3/12 began with PWInsider.com's questions. Here's my take:
1. This has been covered here multiple times. Just because some people don't remember Kane talking to Teddy Long about not feeling like a monster anymore before he was taken out by Henry, that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Now he's back as a monster because Henry woke up the hate inside of him or whatever. He wanted to be a monster again. Henry made him a monster again. Why would Kane attack him for doing what he would consider a favor? If you're going to attack WWE for plot holes, make sure they are actually unaddressed plot holes.

2. That sounded great until their valid criticisms. I like the general idea, but unfortunately for the reasons they mentioned I don't think it would work out.

3. I saw it more as "people remember Kane as the monster when he had hair and the mask, so we're giving him hair and a mask" and them working around Taker's condition, but I guess that's possible as well. I just don't think WWE is THAT simple-minded in their decision-making process.

After the break, I go into everything else from Monday, starting with a question on Shaq.

Raw thoughts- 3/12/12

Tonight on Raw, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker will come face-to-face ahead of Taker's Hell in a Cell match with Michaels' best friend Triple H. Michaels will be the referee that night, which has big implications for the Phenom's legendary streak. Also tonight, The Rock in Concert vs. John Cena's Rap going into the Once in a Lifetime bout in less than 3 weeks! All this and plenty more, including "Psych"'s James Roday. Read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens.

More live events for FCW star, stip added to Victory Road main event, Impact preview, Questions on working for WWE, Sheamus, time zones, and Taker in the HoF, WWE roster change, former Women's Champion at Mania?, PPV name returning, and more ways to catch WWE PPVs

Seth Rollins (formerly Tyler Black in ROH) worked this past weekend's Smackdown house shows, defeating Drew McIntyre. I've heard good things about him, so I hope we get to see what he's made of soon.

Bobby Roode vs. Sting at Victory Road has been made a No Holds Barred match. Cool I guess, since we need to move on from that for Lockdown (where the focus should be on Storm instead of Sting).

Here's the video preview for the 3/15 edition of Impact Wrestling. No mention of Daniels, Anderson's opponent.

For my take on the 3/11 edition of PWInsider.com's questions:
1. This is one of those questions that's unlikely to happen to me since it was addressed to them. I wouldn't think I'd be anything close to qualified for a job there.

2. I definitely think he can. A lot of it does depend on the Cena factor. They need to consistently build him and have him look good past Mania season. So many people have lost momentum after a big push, which has had a detrimental effect on the company's business in my view.

After the break, I go into everything else from 3/11, starting with the Undertaker in the Hall of Fame:

WWE live event notes, Zbyszko talks end of WCW and more, Questions on Kane vs. Kurrgan, an ECW talent, Raw getting an 8.1, and my first PPV, new WWE ref, and new WWE house show perks

Ryback beat JTG on the 3/10 WWE house show. No word on when the ex-Skip Sheffield will be back on Tv. I'd think that if he's getting this much work on live events, they have a good plan for him.

Larry Zbyskzo was interviewed. Good look back at wrestling in the old days and the differences with WWE. I don't think AOL is exclusively to blame for how WCW went downhill, though they played a sizable part in it that a lot of people ignore.

For my take on PWInsider.com's 3/10 questions:
1. Ahh, the Oddities. I remember them. Next time someone talks about how great the Attitude Era was and how characters were better and more realistic, they should be brought up. Anyway, I have no idea other than the fact they mentioned of the group not being particularly serious threats. That's the first time I've ever heard someone being in favor of that particular match-up. For that matter, I don't remember seeing an Oddities-related question before.

Nothing to add to 2. The situation in 3 is simultaneously hilarious and terrible, but I don't know of anything to add there either.

After the break, I go into everything else from Saturday, starting with a question on a big Raw rating in '99.

Match added to Victory Road, OVW talent works TNA house show, Nikita Koloff interview, Questions on Mascaras, Divas, and standing up to Vince, identity of Abyss' brother, TNA live event profiled, Douglas Williams talks, Z! TLIS #56, Maryse and Edge interviews, Impact rating, Victory Road preview, and a Dolph Ziggler interview

In addition to the Tag Team Title match set on Impact, AJ Styles and Mr. Anderson vs. Kazarian and Daniels has been made official for Victory Road. Anderson got some time off from the road. It will be interesting to see where everyone's career goes in respects to that one.

TNA developmental talent Jesse Godderz (known as "Mr. Pec-tacular") worked a recent live event, defeating someone by the name of Joey Spade. This could be a sign that he's headed to the main roster soon, or could have just been a tryout.

Nikita Koloff was interviewed on a number of topics. Interesting read. He sounds like a really smart guy as far as his career goes.

For my take on the 9/3 PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'd like to thank the answerer for taking a more optimistic, devil's advocate view instead of the usual "WWE is dumb and evil" sounding stuff. Mascaras was announced quite some time in advance of Mania season, so it's not like they're dragging him through the mud. Can we all chill out on this? WWE's extending him a pretty high honor. That should really make up for it not being announced on TV (as of this writing).

After the break, I go into everything else from Friday, starting with a question on the direction of the Divas division.

Smackdown thoughts- 3/9/12

Today on Smackdown, we have a Raw rematch on our hands: Santino Marella goes back up against the former U.S. Champion Jack Swagger on a night where John Laurinaitis is in charge. What will the self-proclaimed Mr. Excitement bring to a Friday night? Find out and read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens.

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Bischoff interview, DiBiase update, Questions on Shamrock, time limit draws in ROH, Knockout tag teams, and the Jarretts, Edge and Ryder interviews, Kharma and Sin Cara updates,

Eric Bischoff was interviewed on a number of topics. Part of me really wishes I was around covering WCW, as it sounds like it was quite the train wreck at times. It's nice to see confirmation that Russo was a short-term planner. Hopefully now they think more long-term (which seems to be the case to some degree now).

Ted DiBiase's ankle injury could be worse than initially believed. He suffered a Grade 2 tear to his deltoid ligament and a fracture in his heel bone. More on this in future posts as it comes in.

Update: He posted a photo of his lower leg in a cast.

Update: There was no torn tendon, so he won't need surgery. 2012's going to be an important year for him. If his career stalls now, it might be tough to get it back on track.

For my take on PWInsider.com's 3/8 questions:
1. I was also pretty young at the time when he was popular. I really enjoyed what he brought to the table, but that could be the "nostalgia goggles" clouding my view. I'm a bit surprised that they haven't done a similar character to his given the popularity of MMA, but that could be exactly why they haven't! I guess some would say that they did something somewhat similar with Sylvester Terkay and Vladimir Kozlov, but they also had more size going for them. And I'm guessing they weren't as successful as WWE hoped given where both men's careers went. I'm not too surprised he never became WWF Champion.

For everything else from 3/8, hit the break. Next up, a question on the push of Garett Bischoff.

Superstars and Impact Wrestling thoughts- 3/8/12

Today on WWE Superstars, former Intercontinental Champions collide as Kofi Kingston takes on the "Show Off" Dolph Ziggler. Who will win in a match that deserves to be on TV? Then, on Impact Wrestling, we get closer to TNA Victory Road. Garett Bischoff has been told not to attend. Will he heed Ric Flair's advice or is he in for another clash with his dad? Read on for my thoughts on the shows as they happen.

Important notice about this weekend's posts

Long story short, my computer is not going to be usable for a couple of days. When it is (probably Monday), I'll pick up where I left off with the column for Thursday's Superstars and Impact Wrestling. From there, I'll go "in order" until I catch-up. So, a news post after that, then Smackdown, then Friday's news, Saturday's news, and Sunday's news in separate posts. From there, it's Raw, Monday's news, and so on in the order they'd normally be in. I apologize profusely for this situation and will do my best to make sure that this is a one-time, temporary setback.

Slammiversary rumor-killer, DiBiase injured, Kharma update, Questions on weird booking ideas, Kendrick, and Punk vs. Bryan, Raw visitor, more Sheamus anti-bullying, Ryder and Edge interviews, top indie name getting WWE tryout, and a Daniel Bryan interview

Despite rumors to the contrary, it appears that TNA Slammiversary will not be in New York City.

Ted DiBiase suffered a broken ankle at the Smackdown taping. Very sorry to hear that.

Update: WWE is saying that he will miss several weeks. At least that's not "several months". It's a shame that another performer's going to possibly miss Mania.

In a very unfortunate turn of events, it appears that Kharma's pregnancy ended in a still birth. Very sad to hear that and I hope she pulls through what must be a very trying time.

As for my take on Wednesday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I almost said "losing his title shot to someone more credible", but it depends on the talent involved. My definition of a lower-card jobber would be someone who barely gets any TV time. A Rumble win could catapult just about anyone to being taken seriously, but that doesn't mean they should go that route. If they did decide to do that for some reason, they should spend the remaining time towards Mania building said performer so that he's no longer a lower-card jobber.

Nothing to add to 2. As for 3. It is possible, but very unlikely. Why give away a big gimmick match when the big selling point of Mania is that it's the first time those two are facing off one-on-one?

After the break, I go into everything else from Wednesday. Next up, more questions.

NXT thoughts - 3/7/12

After a year of redemption points, dog barks, love triangles, and cast changes, William Regal has become the new match-maker for NXT. What will he have in store for the WWE undercard today? The main event pits two best friends turned rivals against each other, as Titus O'Neil goes one-on-one with Percy Watson. Plenty more will be on tap, including the latest in Derrick Bateman's love life. Read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens.

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

Rock and Punk in Boston, Questions on WWE's thoughts on Miz, Cena vs. Rock, Natalya, Punk/Bryan, Ryder and Eve, Smackdown main event, WWE Classics update, notes on Rock and Ryder, Mysterio and Del Rio updates, another FCW star on the road, Edge interview, another Rock-Raw appearance, Raw rating, and the Smackdown dark match

The Boston Herald caught The Rock and C.M. Punk ahead of Raw.

For my take on PWInsider.com's Tuesday questions:
1. On top of that, he might not have the best reputation in the locker room if a recent interview with Del Rio is any indication. I hope this is just a phase like we went through with Sheamus because I think Miz really has "it". The descent from where he was last year is disappointing to say the least as he could have been on his way to being one of THE guys in WWE. I really hope things pick up for him sooner rather than later. WWE can't really afford to botch the ascent of ANOTHER promising star.

2. Nope. It's big enough on its own. If they do a rematch (or two), then they can bring in stipulations. The loser has to watch the winner's movies or something. Seriously though, it's already a clash of two of the biggest stars of the last 20 years. What more do you need?

3. They're using a technically sound, credible performer to get over the people they want to push (and possibly improve Eve's ring game in the process). This is not a new thing in wrestling. I doubt this is punishment for Natalya as much as them wanting to get other, less-experienced Divas over.

After the break, I go into everything else from Tuesday, starting with a question on Punk vs. Bryan.

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

NFL player has harsh words for Punk, Questions on Rock vs. Cena, the Hall of Fame, and Kane, TNA star "stepping away from wrestling", more to follow?, Henry interview, McIntyre update, Smackdown rating, Slammiversary on the road?, Punk interview, Raw dark match, and what happened after Raw

In a semi-coherent rant possibly stemming from the Chris Brown issue, the NFL's Shawne Merriman went after C.M. Punk. Apparently Punk once took a shot at Merriman for failing to pick up some WWE Divas. I THINK that's what Merriman's comments are referring to (it was in Costa Rica). I might take this more seriously if the spelling and grammar were better. Is literacy really that difficult?

For my take on PWInsider.com's Monday questions:
1 and 2 are related, so I'll address them jointly. Whoever came up with the "crib notes" part of the angle is genius. A LOT of people (myself included) were fooled. It is somewhat of a 4th-wall breaking feud involving The Rock and "Dwayne Johnson". I have to say it's pretty entertaining, even if I'm usually against the "worked-shoot" kind of thing.

3. What they said. They're not going to go on what a fan sends them, unless that fan's pretty well connected.

4. As they said, the talent has to be on good terms with WWE and agree to go in. Bob Backlund was offered a spot a few years back, but thought (thinks?) it's for retired people and didn't (doesn't?) feel that he's done as a wrestler yet.

After the break, I go into everything else from Monday, starting with why Kane didn't attack the guy who injured him.

Raw thoughts- 3/5/12

Tonight on Raw, The Rock will be live and in-person! What notes will he have on his arm this week? Also appearing for WrestleMania season tonight is Shawn Michaels, who will further stir the pot ahead of Hell in a Cell between Triple H and The Undertaker. Plus, the WWE Board of Directors has put Theodore Long in charge of Raw tonight. What will he put together for the WWE Universe? All this and more - read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens.

Former TNA star works another live event, NXT roster update, Questions on TNA's new direction, Ryder disappearing, Creative's inspirations, and Mania, Zhukov and Trish interviews, Mania match update, boy gets Mysterio-themed prosthetic leg, and updates on McIntyre and Del Rio

Xavier Woods (former TNA Tag Team Champion Consequences Creed) defeated Curt Hawkins again at the 3/3 Raw live event. If there's any word on him or any other FCW prospect making it to the main roster, I'll make sure to report about it. I can't remember a time where this many talents had gotten try-outs in such a relatively short timeframe.

In a correction/update to a previous story, Titus O'Neil's profile is visible on the Smackdown tab of the Superstars page, and Maxine's is visible on the Divas page. However, neither are visible on the main Superstars page. Titus is also listed as part of the "Current Season" on the NXT page, but Young, Watson, and Bateman are not. No idea what's going on with all of that, but as far as I know everyone's still going to be on NXT until further notice.

As for my take on Sunday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Well, they won't be bringing Russo back on board if that's what you're worried about. They seem to be focused on things beyond ratings now with better long-term planning so maybe they'll weather the storm.   I hope so, anyway. Now that the company's doing some of the things that fans have asked for (better focus on the X-Division, more Knockouts, less older names and bigger pushes for the TNA Originals), it's our duty to tune in and support them or they'll go with things we're less pleased with if they think they can draw with them.

After the break, I go into everything else from Sunday. Next up, a question on Zack Ryder at WrestleMania.

Sunday, March 4, 2012

NXT performers moved to Smackdown, TNA star returning, latest FCW performer to work live events, Sammartino interview, big WWE tryout, Questions on Survivor Series, Morrison, Sid's WarGames powerbomb, Layla, and RVD, Barrett update, big Mania bout scrapped, and Doug Furnas passes away

WWE's website has moved Darren Young, Derrick Bateman, and Percy Watson to the Smackdown section of the Superstars page. All three regularly compete on NXT and haven't been signed to either brand in storyline. No word as to why. Titus O'Neil and Maxine are still on the NXT page. That's rather odd. There may or may not be a storyline reason for this coming up. I wouldn't read anything into it if they continue to perform on NXT.

Mr. Anderson will be back on Impact Wrestling this week. He was granted time off. It'll be interesting to see what he brings to the table now and who he'll face off with.

FCW's Xavier Woods, perhaps better known for his time in TNA as Consequences Creed, beat Curt Hawkins on a Raw live event. Presumably WWE's considering bringing him to the main roster at some point. I'm very curious to see how he'll do with the company. I wasn't blown away by his TNA work, but maybe he'll earn my praise this go 'round.

Bruno Sammartino talked about Vince McMahon, his refusal to enter the WWE Hall of Fame, Hogan, Flair, and more. The celebrities in the Hall all had WWE appearances. He's obviously not familiar with Hogan and Flair's financial woes.

After the break, I go into the rest of Saturday's news, including PWInsider.com's questions. Next up, a big WWE tryout session.

Saturday, March 3, 2012

Russo to face some of his toughest critics, WWE Network's lack of progress profiled, Daniels and Ziggler interviews, HHH returning to the ring before Mania, Impact preview, HHH signs long-term deal, Questions on Sabin, Bryan vs. Sheamus, Santino, Chamber injuries, and writing Taker off, Russo releases statement, Sorensen update, Z! TLIS #55, ROH rumorkiller, FCW star update, WWE moves live event, name for Ziggler/Swagger team?, Impact Wrestling rating, a new WWE trademark, and McIntyre removed from the WWE roster

Vince Russo will be appearing on a future installment of YouShoot live. Talk about walking into a lion den! There are people who genuinely HATE this man for what they perceive as him doing to the wrestling business.

The New York Post covered the stalled WWE Network. Poorly written (edited?) piece, botching the company's abbreviation and contradicting itself on whether the programming is "raunchy". That aside, things aren't going as well as WWE would hope and there are some real concerns about its ultimate fate. Vince McMahon seems like the type of guy who wants things done big immediately and gets frustrated when they don't happen like that. It's troubling to say the least given the company's business the past few years.

Daniels was interviewed. I wasn't aware that he had so many injuries. That's kind of scary.

Dolph Ziggler was also interviewed. He even steals the show in interviews!  Supposedly the change in hair color (back to brown) was a Creative decision that obviously bombed. It's not time yet to change into a super-serious character given how well he stands out as he is now.

Triple H will compete at a WWE house show in Madison Square Garden on 3/18. Makes sense I guess if they think he has ring rust, and that is their "home arena".

After the break, I go into everything else from Friday, including PWInsider.com's questions. Next up, the preview for next week's Impact Wrestling.

Friday, March 2, 2012

Smackdown thoughts- 3/2/12

Recently on Smackdown, World Heavyweight Champion and rising star Daniel Bryan put on a barnburner with the underrated veteran Randy Orton. This week, after a concussion put the Viper out of action, we get a rematch. Will the vegan villain get taken out by the RKO, or will the WWE Universe be hearing cries of "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!"? That and plenty more on this week's Smackdown. Read on for my thoughts on the show as it happens.

Foley and Maxine interviews, posters for WM28 and Extreme Rules, Questions on fans at the HoF, Cena vs. Rock, RVD, and Gail leaving WWE, Hogan shoots on Warrior, WWE reaches to Latin American audience with new office, WWE moves PPV, Mysterio update, Konnan shoot preview, Bourne update, FCW appearances, new WWE signing, and a Mark Henry update

Mick Foley gave an interview about where he'd like to be at WrestleMania. I think having such a big name at commentary for HHH/Taker would kind of take away from things, since we'd be expecting some kind of run-in or something from him. JR should get the call. Foley running interference in the match could work. If they're going to go all out with nostalgia in the match and finally settle it, Foley could add to that.

Maxine, who you should all be watching on NXT, was interviewed by Mynorthwest.com. I'd think studying criminals would lend itself well to being a villainous character? She's quite good on the mic and coming along well in the ring. If you're tired of the Divas matches we see on Raw and Smackdown, her matches with Kaitlyn have been a breath of fresh air.

InDemand.com has the posters and descriptions for WM28 and Extreme Rules. Will Rock/Cena really be a one-time thing? There's GOT to be money in a rematch. Interesting that Mysterio's advertised. Could he be making a surprise appearance after all?

Update: WWE could bring him in for at least a cameo if they try to break the Guiness World Record for most lucha masks at one event. Is it too soon for him to give the on-screen rub to Sin Cara? They could come out together to wave to the crowd, etc. and give an update on their respective conditions.

After the break I go into my take on PWInsider.com's questions and the rest of the day's news. First, should fans be allowed at the WWE Hall of Fame?

Superstars and Impact Wrestling thoughts- 3/1/12

Today on WWE Superstars, an old rivalry gets reignited. Former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali goes one-on-one with the man who made his life a living hell in India, Jinder Mahal. Then tonight on Impact Wrestling, we get the latest build between TNA World Champion Bobby Roode and the General Manager (and Insane Icon) Sting! Not to mention ODB vs. Madison Rayne, Shannon Moore vs. Zema Ion, and a gauntlet match featuring AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Kazarian! All that and more with today's shows. Read on for my thoughts on them as they happen.

Smackdown dark match, Hardy update, Impact preview, Foley talks, Questions on Cena, HIAC, Bryan vs. Rey, and punishing wrestlers, updates on the WWE Network and its proposed Cruiserweight show, Finlay DVD trailer, Punk Q&A, Taker scratched, and a Raw guest star

Ted DiBiase beat Hunico ahead of Smackdown. Nothing new going on there I see. I believe that Camacho's at least worked live events, so maybe we'll see what he can do in the ring on TV at some point.

Jeff Hardy's believed to be suffering from food poisoning. If he feels better in time, they can tape all of his segments ahead of Impact airing. That's one benefit to taping vs. live.

Update: It's believed that they were able to tape footage involving him.

Here's the video preview for Impact Wrestling.

And here's another interview with Mick Foley about wrestling and comedy. I'd be ticked if he did promos juts to crack people up backstage, too. I also think Regal would be a pretty good comedian. I hope that Rumble appearance was Foley's last as a "serious" competitor. He'd be a great source to build intrigue for HHH/Taker in a Cell.

For my take on Wednesday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. As they alluded to, it's all about what Creative thinks people want to see. I imagine that at least part of the audience wants the more goofy manner from him.

After the break, I go into everything else from the day, starting with expectations for HHH vs. Taker.
