Interviews with AJ/Styles, TNA dark match, more from Joey Ryan, Questions on Angle moonsaults, the brand extension, Taker, and the Jarretts, Z! TLIS #79, Where's Trent?, more on Gunn/FCW, Impact viewership, AW release and its backlash, and HBK on another Raw

WWE's AJ was interviewed by ESPN.

TNA's AJ (Styles) was also interviewed.

Before Impact, Northeast talent CJ O'Doyle and Team 3D students Los Ben Dejos received a tag team tryout for TNA.

Joey Ryan sent out an open letter in regards to TNA Gut Check. Maybe he'll get signed to face the Aces and Eights?

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
Nothing to add to 1.

2. Flair did the same bit from the top rope. It's a spot that gets over! In kayfabe, I guess he figures he'll hit it again one of these days. He should or it wouldn't make sense to keep in his repertoire.

Everything else is after the break!

3. As they said, WWE pretty much doesn't care about the brand extension anymore, except for live event tours needing two brands. I've pretty much stopped caring about things that don't make much sense, since some fans seem to be giving it more thought than WWE does.

Not much to add to 4. It's all about the law of diminishing returns. I wish they'd realize that this same principle should hold true for a number of top stars.

5. Yep! At least Jeff. Anyone up for some poker?

Here's episode #79 of Z! True Long Island Story, starring someone who will probably be kicked to WWE's new Saturday show. Where's the long-term plan for a guy selling merch and getting over?

Trent Barreta returned to the ring at the most NXT taping following ankle surgery. So that's where he's been.

Speaking of WWE developmental, there's talk that Billy Gunn could be brought in as a part of it.

The 8/9 Impact brought in 1.21 million viewers, which is down. Possibly the Olympics are to blame?

AW, formerly Abraham Washington, has been released. He went on a rant on Twitter about it. Money promo that I really can agree with. Old-school WWF would have been completely fine with the joke he made.

Shawn Michaels is advertised for the next Raw, where hopefully Lesnar devours him to add heat (and PPV buys) for Summerslam.

More news tomorrow!
