Interviews with Simmons/Cena, Finn special coming, more on UK special, Angle DVD trailer, recent ROH name to Impact, Cole-ROH update, Final Battle venue set, Florida indie name passes, and Questions on Brock wrestling on Raw, WWE music in the NBA, how GLOW 2017 will differ, and LU's status

Ron Simmons talked about JBL and more. Here are highlights:
- It is pretty cool Simmons has that honor. It's surprising on the surface there hasn't been a (fully) black WWE/Universal Champion, but it's a matter of the right person being in line for it. I hope Big E gets that honor, personally. I think Mark Henry's time has passed.

- APA was a believable tough guy do that didn't take any shit. No cartwheels or dives, either.

- I'd like to see a little more promos and shenanigans in 2017. There are too many matches made just to fill time.

Finn Balor's WWE 24 special will air after Raw, and a 90-minute UK Championship special will air Thursday night. I don't think the weekly show will necessarily be 90 minutes. This is just kind of a (re)introduction to the brand and its competitors.

John Cena talked about the Vince McMahon biopic. Cena as Vince doing that insane script would be AMAZING. The world needs to see that.

Kurt Angle's DVD has a trailer. It will be released on July 31 in the UK and August 1 in the States. I'd love to see a DVD set with all his top matches, but Anthem has the rights to a lot of them.

Matt Sydal is done with ROH as he'll be signing on with Impact Wrestling. That will be a new environment for him and hopefully fresh things will happen there.

Adam Cole is not booked for ROH past this weekend, but the two sides could continue working together on a per-date basis. The Cole to NXT rumors are going to heat up once his contract ends.

ROH Final Battle will run at the same venue as War of the Worlds sometime this December. I'm very interested to see what the roster will look like that night.

Florida independent wrestler Richard Delicious passed away at 29 due to a series of heart attacks suffered in late April. He had been in a medically-induced coma since his hospitalization. Delicious has been working behind the scenes for WWN family promotions, so this loss will be felt outside of the ring, too. Sad to hear.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't think we'll see it unless he's just going to beat someone in 30 seconds as an appetizer to a PPV match. Brock keeps his physical appearances pretty short and sweet, and WWE's going to (mostly) make the televised ones count.

2. That's bizarre. Apparently it's OK live but not directly broadcast on the air. WWE's probably OK with it getting that kind of play at any rate.

Nothing to really add to 3. It's probably just the wear of time.

4. At this point, it's just a comedy series based on GLOW rather than its own promotion running shows or whatever.

5. Still no word on Season 4 being green-lit, which should have people worried as time drags on.

More wrestling tomorrow.
