Main Event Reax - 12/1/18, WWE Match of the Year collection, another Network collection, next E&C episode, Interviews with Bischoff/Candice/Xavier, ROH signs two top indie names, WM35 week shuffled, Stephanie promotes charity, NXT name back in the ring, and Questions on exaggerating wrestling injuries, WWE not acknowledging the Diva Era, NXT name changes, and the NXT status of Aliyah and Cross

-- Main Event:
- Mojo vs. Titus:
Basic, but fine.

I feel like I'm watching FCW.

Fine enough. Better these two being stuck here than people with more potential.

- Ryder/B-Team vs. Breeze/Ascension:
Fine so far.

I like the (unintentional?) continuity from Fashion Files.

Smooth enough work here.

Fine match. These names could have a fun digital series.

WWE's Match of the Year compilation has been detailed, which includes matches from NXT, 205 Live, NXT UK, and the Mae Young Classic on top of "main roster" picks. Glad to see that work honored, too.

- The nWo will also have a collection in December. Somewhat surprisingly, none of their WWE run is covered.

The Edge and Christian Show will follow Raw again this week.

Xavier Woods discussed a meeting in the Philippines, where he was promoting WWE. OK this needs to be recreated on WWE TV.

Eric Bischoff compared pro wrestling to the current news media. I definitely see the similarities.

- Candice Michelle also had a TEDx talk about wrestling.

Xavier Woods fired back at WWE critics. I get his point. There are plenty of wrestling options out there, and WWE is giving fans in-house alternatives to Raw and Smackdown Live. I think most critics are upset about the creative direction rather than the efforts of the wrestlers.

ROH has signed PCO, formerly Pierre Carl-Ouellet. He's seen a surprising resurgence on the indie scene. I'm definitely interested to see how he fits in with ROH.

- Brody King has also signed there. He could debut at the December 15 TV tapings, as he has finished his MLW commitments. It's good to see fresh faces coming to ROH.

WrestleMania 35 weekend's Takeover special will now be on Friday, with the Hall of Fame ceremony moving to Saturday. This means Takeover won't be running against G1 Supercard. Make of that what you will.

Stephanie McMahon put over the V Foundation.

NXT's Riddick Moss returned to the ring this weekend for the first time since April. He lost to Matt Riddle on Friday in Florida and Fabian Aichner on Saturday in Florida. We'll see how he rebounds from being out for so long.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Certainly not ALWAYS, but there are definitely times when they do that to make their superstars look more invincible when they return early from injury. I don't think it's as common now as it used to be, given how easily word leaks out of legitimate expected return times.

2. I think to a degree they do downplay the Johnny Ace/FCW Era in general, since Triple H has replaced him and changed how developmental works. Specifically they're now pushing how they've moved on from the Diva name, etc. They do acknowledge names from before the FCW days who were more trained as wrestlers, as those names were.

3. It's generally a case of when they were signed. They've been more willing to let talent keep their pre-WWE name in the past few years. The War Raiders are key exception, because "War Machine" is already a Marvel character and MMA fighter, among other things. WWE doesn't want there to be any confusion in the marketplace that could lead to a court case.

4. She's working live events pretty regularly, so they obviously still view her as a project worth investing in. She's only 24, so there's time for her to get a solid foundation before they use her for something more significant.

5. Right now her SDL appearance was a one-time thing. It feels like they can't quite figure out where they're going with her. There's not really anything else to do with her in NXT, since they don't want to put the title on her only for her to be called up shortly thereafter. So she's just kind of in Limbo until Raw or Smackdown Live picks her up.

More wrestling tomorrow.
