DiBiase, Sr. does Easter message, another Olympian going pro?, Questions on interviews, Cena's look over the years, Rock's promos, Lesnar in TNA, and title changes on TV, and new advertising for Extreme Rules

Ted DiBiase, Sr. gave an Easter message at a church in Illinois. Video is upcoming here.

Former Olympic gold medalist (and "Biggest Loser" contestant) Rulon Gardner is considering wrestling professionally. It's all a matter of what he brings to the table at 40. He's obviously got quite the story to play off of if he does make it.

Easter Sunday brought new PWInsider.com questions. Here's my take on them:
1. I guess it depends on how you define journalism, reporting, interviewing, etc. as that's one of those "No True Scotsman" arguments to me. While I agree that a lot of people would want to read about WCW and TNA, this was basically a choice between getting no interview and getting a "limited" interview with one of the most important and controversial minds in the business. The topics he did talk about were relevant to wrestling and his take on them.

After the break, I go into everything else from Sunday. Next up, a question on John Cena's physique.

2. Bodybuilding is primarily about looking a certain way, and early in his career he presumably wanted a bigger look in order to stand out. To wrestle as much as Cena does and stick around long-term, you need to be in a different kind of shape than that, since you're actively wrestling a lot more than just lifting, posing, etc.. It's a "form vs. function" thing, partially demonstrated here.

3. Nothing to add there. Rock has definitely not seemed like the same guy he was "back in the day". I think there's definitely part of the audience that wanted the Rock who cracks jokes and gets things to trend on Twitter based on the responses he got. Specifically, though, the "crib notes" were fictitious, just giving Cena something to rip on. It's been pretty clever to elevate Cena I think (though a lot of it was for naught since Rock won the match). Remember that a great deal of the audience doesn't/won't know what's going on behind-the-scenes, and will just assume Rock's "lost it" and needed the notes to keep up with Cena.

4. If I'm not mistaken, Lesnar's still good friends with Angle and that didn't get him there either. Had it happened, another feud with Angle's the obvious way to go. If I'm looking at things from a "what feud would I like to see" perspective instead of a "building new stars" perspective: Abyss, maybe Roode, Calfzilla, Crimson, MAYBE Gunner, Hardy, Morgan, RVD, and Samoa Joe.

5. As they alluded to, sometimes there are good reasons to do a title switch on TV (Punk cashing in MITB on Edge comes to mind). But a lot of times, I agree that it's BS to do that and rightfully hurts PPV buys. PPVs should be more important than TV shows. Too often they feel like "a couple of big matches, but everything else might as well be the same as on TV". Ditto for gimmick matches not being as big anymore. Why pay to see cage matches when they're on TV all the time?

Finally, advertising for Extreme Rules now reflects that Brock Lesnar will be appearing. No mention of the hometown WWE Champion.

That's it for Sunday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
