Maria Kanellis interview, ECW originals look back at Barely Legal, Questions on tag teams, Lesnar past-WM29, Melina-TNA, Aries vs. Bully Ray, and the Divas Title, more on Russo YouShoot, Jannetty interview, who was the minister on Impact?, RVD update, TNA charity, Nash wants back in WWE, No Way Out update, live report of Punk/Jericho angle, Hogan talks before Lockdown, Impact Wrestling rating, NY Times misidentifies Angle, Big Show autograph signing report, and a Honky Tonk Man interview,

Maria Kanellis had an interview with VOC Nation. Here are some highlights. ROH isn't even close to surpassing TNA, even if you just look at their business in the U.S.. Let's not kid ourselves here. ROH isn't in nearly as many homes as TNA, for starters. Who are these celebrities ROH is making? That implies anyone knows any of them outside of wrestling circles. I do agree about the Twitter-WWE stuff, though.

The former Sign Guy Dudley looked back at ECW Barely Legal at its 15th anniversary.

Update: As did Joey Styles and Tommy Dreamer at WWE.com. Good reads with some inside jokes and jabs.

PWInsider.com had some new questions for Friday. Here's my take:
1. I don't consider myself enough of a tag team historian to give a qualified answer here, so I'll let them take that one.

2. His contract ends at WM29 is I'm understanding things correctly, so that idea wouldn't work without him re-signing. That said, he could very well win the WWE Title before then. He might re-sign after Mania, but it's far from a guarantee.

3. I'm also kind of surprised about that, unless they're concerned about her backstage reputation. If they signed her without Morrison, people would inevitable wonder where he is. So perhaps that's where the issue is. There was also a rumor that she had a high price-tag, and TNA's already got some pretty heavy salaries to fill.

After the break, I go into everything else from Friday. Next up, why is Austin Aries facing Bully Ray?

4. It feels like one of those cases where the fans got so into his act that they started cheering for him, so they're rolling with it and making him a face while still doing heelish things to a degree. He did face Kash and Ion in title feuds, so this isn't the first time he'd been a heel vs. heel situation.

5. Nothing to add there. They like to call their female performers "Divas". That's pretty much it. If they ever move away from that, they might change the title back. I don't see that happening any time soon, though.

Here's the latest promo video for Vince Russo on YouShoot Live. I'm expecting a heel turn for Sean Oliver and one of the questioners being the driver of the white Hummer.

Marty Jannetty was interviewed by NotInHallofFame.com. The fact that people still talk about Shawn turning on him in the Barber Shop should tell you something about how big it was. I like his thoughts about things like Tough Enough. He makes good points about WWE's rehab program. I personally loved the Miz/Morrison angle about who was the "Jannetty" of the team, but I can certainly see how he and his fans would be offended by it! All in all, solid read and I do think he belongs in the Hall of Fame.

The minister of the ODB/Eric Young wedding was just a local actor.

Rob Van Dam is expected to be a "top guy" in TNA going forward. That would have been welcome news in, say, 2006. Talented guy, but him being pushed at the expense of the younger guys only exacerbates the problem of them not becoming stars.

TNA will be running a food drive at Lockdown.

Kevin Nash is "staying ready" if WWE needs him. More great news for the future of the business.

WWE's advertising of June's No Way Out is pushing a number of potential gimmick matches that fit the theme, including lumberjack, strap, chain, and handcuff matches in addition to cage match main events. Gimmick PPVs are way overdone these days. They can only do so much to help a match people wouldn't care about otherwise.

Not altogether unsurprisingly, there was considerable confusion at the Revolver Golden God awards during the Punk/Jericho angle.

Hulk Hogan was interviewed by TNA going into Lockdown.

Impact Wrestling got a 0.98 on Thursday. Hopefully that's because of the Bischoff and ODB/Eric Young focus.

In a piece talking about Kurt Angle pulling out of the Olympics, they mistakenly say that he's a WWE wrestler. That was simply a typo. He'll be staying in TNA for the foreseeable future.

Here's a piece on a Big Show autograph signing.

Finally, here's an interview with the Honky Tonk Man. I'd take it with some salt given that he's previously claimed that Hulk Hogan was leaving TNA (before he signed a 2-year contract extension).

That's all for Friday's news. More to come later tonight. Thanks for reading!
