Sheamus cleared, Interviews with Natalya/WWE writer, Wrestler hosting Summerslam, WWE Con?, Storm hurt, more from SDCC, more on "Total Divas", NXT on the road, Destination X attendance, Punk injury, and Questions on Bret Hart, turning down the WWE Hall, Vince passing the torch, wrestling as a sport, and the whereabouts of Santino and Hornswoggle

Sheamus has been cleared to return to the ring, despite this nasty bruise. Ouch. It's like it's not considered a good match anymore unless someone gets seriously hurt.

Natalya talked about "Total Divas" in a piece centered on cars of all things. It gets the word out about WWE at least.

Someone who's written material for WWE's commentators was interviewed. Remember when commentators talked about the wrestlers and didn't have to make goofy references that don't really add anything to the match? There's a difference between comparing a wrestler to a fictional character and cracking jokes to seem relevant.

The Miz will be hosting Summerslam, further separating him from being taken seriously as a wrestler. I guess it's better than hiring a celebrity who knows very little about WWE.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
WWE is planning a convention like Comic-Con ("WWE: The Convention"), maybe having it over a weekend in conjunction with a major PPV. Here are more details. Could be fun!

James Storm was hurt at a recent TNA live event, because God hates TNA apparently. I hope he's not out long as he's one of their top non-former WWE performers.

Here's the Mattel panel from San Diego Comic-Con, featuring Dolph Ziggler and Mick Foley. I wonder if Ziggler's action figures bump as well as he does.

The Bella Twins will be promoting "Total Divas" a lot next week. NBC Universal wants that to be a success as much as WWE does, I think.

Triple H is planning on having NXT live events outside of FL. If that helps the talents there and gets WWE some money in the process, I'm all for it.

Destination X drew 3200 paid. There were also 500 comps. Not bad at all. Definitely a lot more than the Impact Zone held (roughly 1000).

Here's another injury picture: C.M. Punk's ankle.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
Nothing to add to 1, other than me remembering him being U.S. Champion. Ugh.

2. I believe that Mr. T turned them down, because he felt that he should have been in there earlier. I also don't recall Sting being invited, given his TNA status. That doesn't mean that it never happened; just that I don't remember it.

3. >Vince >ever leaving WWE. You must be new here. Seriously, though, pretty much everything points to Vince never voluntarily relinquishing control of WWE. You might even say that there's no chance in hell that he'll leave.

4. Even in NC, where wrestling is something of a tradition, it's not listed in my local newspaper. It's sports entertainment, remember?

5. I believe that Santino's been cleared to wrestle, but WWE doesn't have any current plans for him. He might have been a "Brian Gerwitz project" and now that he's not the head writer, Santino's not doing anything.

More wrestling tomorrow.
