Read on for my thoughts on last night's Impact Wrestling.
- Alberto/EC3:
So much for that title reign!
Man, imagine a shoot between Alberto and Lashley.
I like how much the world title means to both men. Titles aren't everything, but I'm OK with them being important.
I like smug dick Alberto. I wonder if Ricardo Rodriguez would come to Impact if offered.
EC3 can be a pretty entertaining douche, too.
Fun fight. Should be one hell of a main event as well.
- Edwards promo:
Bleeehhhhhh. One big drawback of Corgan on creative was this goof getting pushed.
- Tag title discussion:
If Decay won the title, wouldn't a ref have been on hand? They should have to get in touch with him.
- Eli/Tyrus vs. L. Kid/Garza Jr.:
Even more new names in action!
Lucha guys doing lucha things.
God, I feel like I'm watching ROH.
At least Tyrus adds something different to the table.
Eli and Tyrus make a pretty fun team.
Man, the heels are shutting these two down.
Well, that was kind of a disappointing ending. A little 50/50. Also, there seems to be a theme of Impact guys doing the job to the newer names.
- Quinn/Brandi/Cody:
Ha. Cody implying its OK that HE pimps has dad's fake last name. Ain't that a shoot!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Cody burying Impact's pay for KC. That was fucking BRUTAL. He knows Impact needs him more than he needs them, too.
They could build to a title vs. title match between Cody and Moose if they wanted.
- Rosemary/Quinn:
Man, really rough night for KC!
KC took a 20-hour bus ride just for this?
- EC3 vs. Alberto:
Awwww yeah we've got a pier-six brawl going on.
WE FAHT ON THURSDEE NAHTS MAGGLE AH LOVE IT.
I like the focus on EC3's arm.
These two are working together well for this fight.
Two experienced pros showing how it's done.
EC3's really turned it up several notches since the Derrick Bateman days.
Ummm, why isn't Carter trying to pin him?
EC3 lost his focus, and it led to him losing the match. There's a lesson there.
- Post-match:
Alberto did a good babyface promo without it being "gee golly whillickers" silly like a lot of ROH names.
That was good.
- SCUM promo:
I liked Week One of these two, so I'm good with where things go from here.
- Suicide video:
Suicide was a pretty important character, and there's a natural merchandise opportunity with him.
- Suicide vs. Everett vs. Sutter vs. Trevor:
While Suicide is new, we're seeing pretty much the same thing in the ring.
Jesus Christ Andrew. Is he trying to TK O'Ryan himself?
Wow. Laurel's had quite the couple week!
I hope the X-Division is due for more of a reboot than this. It's still random small guys doing MOVES.
- Sienna promo:
All this awkward acknowledgement of Maria leaving.
I wonder who will team with Sienna to oppose Braxton. Without Mike Bennett all presumably need a male friend to help out.
- Prichard and a lot of tag teams:
Hahaha burying their most popular act in years.
I'm really interested to see what the new regime does with Decay given their seeming distatste of wacky gimmicks.
Umm, you guys have been here about a week. Why are you in the title picture??
And you guys have been here for less than week!! Why aren't DCC and Eli/Tyrus involved in this conversation given their previous success?
Great to see Homicide again. I've missed him a lot.
