Main Event Reax - 3/4/17, more riding along on the Network, HBK on WWEPC role, Charlotte at NBA game, Aroluxe out, more Impact spoiler notes, Gail update, Impact visitor, Rex misses tapings, big name back on WWE TV soon, ROH and NXT live event notes, big surprise ROH appearances, and Questions on Bryan taking paternity leave, Johnny The Bull, Orton as face or heel, and Angle's in-ring future

-- Main Event:
- Commentary:
I'm starting to wonder if Truth's about to hang the boots up, and what that would mean for Goldust.

- Cara vs. Dallas:
Sin Cara is Mr. Main Event!

Flips vs. straightforward basic offense. Again. I'd like to see some new faces on this show. Smackdown's tag team division could really use the spotlight.

SC can hit you with something flashy from just about any angle.

This is fine at this point.

I liked Bo just ducking the crossbody. Clever, simple, and effective.

That was OK. It was all it needed to be to fill some time before Raw began.

- Ariya vs. Metalik:
Fine start.

I love Metalik as the master of the ropes.

Daivari's basically there to set up and take Metalik's offense.

I like what both men have here. Daivari's kind of a bit player, but you need some people to fill out the division. Not everyone can be pushed.

This is solid enough for a filler cruiserweight match.

Good ending sequence!

WWE Ride Along with Sami Zayn/Neville and Cesaro/Seth Rollins will debut after Raw. I miss when younger names were paired with veterans for travel purposes so they could pass on tips to the newer flock.

Shawn Michaels talked about transitioning to his current role at the WWE Performance Center and more:
- HBK's good to have on-board to be eyes and ears for the younger talents who are still kind of figuring things out.

- YES. So much of wrestling is about selling the match and the angle. That's something of a lost art in some places.

- A lot of talented people in NXT.

- I hope Roode does have a good future on the main roster. Just not yet. Let him do a lot at the NXT level first.

- I hope Taker joins the performance center when he retires.

Charlotte was involved with WWE Night at an NBA game. Glad she had a good time.

Aroluxe Marketing is no longer working with Impact Wrestling. The same production crew was utilized, but they weren't overseen by Aroluxe. So, it looks as though Anthem bought 100% of Impact Wrestling.

Matt Morgan and Chris Mordetzky/Masters will be part of Impact. No word on Magnus just yet, but he'd seem like a pretty obvious choice of WWE's not calling.

Impact spoiler: James Storm is expected to return to being the Cowboy following the split of DCC. No word on what that will mean or Bram and Kingston. Storm and Jarrett have a lot of years together in Impact, so I think he'll be in good hands.

Gail Kim was backstage at Impact, but she hasn't returned to the ring. I expect she hasn't been cleared yet.

MMA's Phil Baroni was backstage at Impact, but was likely just visiting. He could end up coming in down the line, though.

Aron Rex is not part of this week's Impact tapings due to being part of a movie role. I really wonder how his gimmick will fly under the new regime.

Impact could bring in Christina Von Eerie from GFW at a future set of tapings. They've got a LOT of talent to pull from in the new era.

The Undertaker is expected to be part of WWE TV this week to set up a match at Wrestlemania. He's expected to face Roman Reigns at the show. There's potential for him to "pass the torch" in a final match. We'll see if that happens; if there's anyone to never count out, it's Taker.

At ROH's Manhattan Mayhem VI:
- Sumie Sakai won a triple threat with Mandy Leon and Jenny Rose in the pre-show.

- Josh Woods and John Skyler have advanced to the finals of the top prospect tournament. I could see both contributing to ROH, as they love people who do MMA stuff and are always looking for some more indie dudes.

- The Hardys made a surprise debut, challenging the Young Bucks to an impromptu tag team championship match. The Hardys won and announced they have signed with ROH. They're booked for ROH's 15th anniversary show, the TV tapings afterward, and the already announced Supercard of Honor. They'll be free to work other companies outside of their ROH bookings, although WWE isn't included in that. Big get for ROH. I hope the Hardys do good things there; ROH TV could definitely use some Broken brilliance.

- Bully Ray also made a surprise debut, saving Bobby Fish from a Bullet Club beatdown. Bully compared ROH to ECW and said he's not there to be a champion or a veteran taking money from a wrestling company, but because he wanted to say he fought for the company before retiring. Bully was originally set to return to Impact, but the two sides couldn't come to terms on an agreement. I'm interested to see how he'll fit into ROH and how long he'll work there. Definitely an unexpected move for Bully and for ROH.

- Some speculated we'd see Mike Bennett and Maria return to ROH at this show, but they didn't IT's still possible they're ROH-bound, but they weren't at this event.

Elias Samson worked as "The Gypsy" under a mask at an NXT live event due to losing a match yet to air on NXT TV. I love that he's got a new name at each live event. He's probably headed to Raw or Smackdown in the post-Mania season.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I could see Bryan taking some time off, but I doubt he'd be replaced. They'd probably just have Shane take his place for a little while. I think WWE has bigger plans for Angle, namely being the next part-timer to have a final run.

2. He seems to have retired from the business, which would make sense if he's had issues from concussions.

3. A fair point, but I think they were going for antihero standing up to the evil cult leader. Fans complain about goody-goody babyfaces, but apparently edgy babyfaces are no-go, too. Sheesh.

4. I expect he's going to work a few big matches for WWE, then hang it up.

Nothing to add to 5.

More wrestling tomorrow.
