Main Event Reax - 3/9/19, Raw star changes look, Ziggler on WWE Network after Raw, Interviews with Cornette/Reigns/Lawler, another Titus screening, Strickland wraps up with DEFY, key Japanese figure passes, injured WWE star returns, another NXT debut, NXT+SDL live event notes, and Questions on The Club's contracts, Piper in the Hogan biopic, GLOW stars wrestling in WWE, Bundy memories, Liger at Wrestlecon, and venues I'd like to see wrestling in

-- Main Event:
- Crews vs. EC3:
Basic, but effective.

This is heating up well enough.

Apollo is ridiculously underutilized.

Not bad!

- Kalisto/Lince/Breeze vs. Jinder/Singhs:
Well this is an interesting combination.

Yeah the luchadores are much more accomplished than the Singhs.

Nice work form the faces.

Cool ending.

No Way Jose has debuted a new look. I hope he got that approved! Notably he hasn't been on a live event since January 13, although he's worked WWE Main Event fairly regularly and appeared in the Royal Rumble. A new look could be what he needs to get his career moving again.

"WWE Photo Shoot" with Dolph Ziggler will debut after Raw. He hasn't been seen since Royal Rumble.

Jim Cornette spoke about Bruce Prichard returning to WWE on the Two Man Power Trip podcast. Of course Vince Russo came up. Hopefully Prichard can be a good mediator between Vince and his younger staff.

Roman Reigns spoke to Yahoo! Sports about overcoming leukemia. It's really good to have him back.

Titus O'Neil did another local movie screening through his foundation. I wouldn't be shocked to see him run for office once his WWE days are done.

Jerry Lawler discussed Jim Ross leaving WWE and no longer hosting the WWE Hall of Fame. There's speculation of Ross heading to AEW, which is a big move, but I don't know if it's the right direction for the company. As for Lawler hosting the Hall of Fame, I'm totally fine with a younger, fresher voice hosting that. I have immense respect for Ross and Lawler, but it's time for a new generation to get opportunities.

Shane Strickland has finished with DEFY Wrestling, indicating he's moving to a bigger destination. I fully expect to see him in some fashion at Takeover:New York.

Wally Yamaguchi, Kai En Tai's WWE manager in addition to being an important figure in Japan, passed away at 60. Figure Four Weekly and PWInsider.com remembered him.

Harper returned at Raw's March 9 live event in New York, defeating Mojo Rawley. This was in Harper's hometown, so it could have just been a special occasion rather than a full-on comeback.

At NXT's March 9 Florida live event:
- Bianca Belair and Mia Yim teamed to defeat Aliyah and Vanessa Borne, so Belair and Yim could become a team.
- The former Jonah Rock debuted as Jermaine Haley in a loss to Riddick Moss.
- China's Boa and Mars lost to Brennan Williams and Mansoor Al-Shehail. Boa hadn't worked a live event since January 19.

Nikki Cross is on Smackdown Live live events this weekend. She defeated Sonya Deville in Michigan. I'd love to see Nikki vs. Asuka for the Smackdown Women's Title at WrestleMania, but I don't see it happening.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1.a. As indicated, it wasn't for millions of dollars per year. That would definitely be excessive. WWE can definitely afford to pay them more with those new TV deals, though.

1.b. WWE clearly doesn't really know how to feature them, but they know AEW or NJPW could take them and run with them, so WWE might be willing to make an effort to use them at a higher level if the two sides agree to work together longer.

2. Things are still really early in the project. I would pop for WWE Avengers, but we'll see what happens.

3. It would be tricky for the reasons indicated, but it could happen if there was mutual interest. It would have to be a really special occasion for Netflix to put them out there to potentially get hurt, though.

4. Definitely the Hogan injury angle.

5. Anything on top of that is TBD/TBA.

6. I honestly haven't given it much thought. It pretty much depends on the show. I probably wouldn't go to Madison Square Garden to see AAA just for the experience of being in MSG, for instance. Certainly going to the Tokyo Dome or other famous venues would be great, though.

More wrestling tomorrow.
