Edge interview, more from TNA NFL angle, Impact Wrestling post-show, Stone Cold blog, more WM29 press, Questions on WWE changing indie stars' names, Joey Styles at EVOLVE, and Chyna's new venture, Sheamus interview, Z! TLIS #53, HHH interview, and the Impact Wrestling rating

Edge was interviewed on retirement and more.

Here's the set up for next week's TNA angle with the NFL's Brandon Jacobs.

And here's the Impact Wrestling post-show.

Steve Austin blogged about some of his early days in the wrestling business, including why getting cursed out by a booker was the best advice he had ever gotten. Hopefully performers today take advantage of their opportunities to watch those more successful than them (past and present) and learn how to get the feel for what a crowd will and won't respond to. It's by no means easy, but it can be invaluable.

NJ.com and TimesUnion.com have stories on WrestleMania 29 coming to the area. They're taking a risk with it being roofless. Could get pretty nippy there.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news, starting with PWInsider.com's questions. First up, why does WWE change the names of established indie performers when they get signed?

1. Basically what they said. I do think they could probably get some more fans on board if they used those names, but it's risky. Another point to consider is that these are "character names". Robert Pattinson isn't going to be called Edward Cullen in a non-Twilight movie, etc., so I see this as pretty similar. Speaking of Hero, props to him for embracing his new name with a "KO" logo and references to "Oh No". That's awesome.

2. He's only under contract for his work with their website, not as a talent, so presumably he'd be in the clear there legally. Styles isn't one to shy away from controversy, but they knew that when they hired him.

3. Yeah, I'm not going to be covering that either. Though I'm sure there are people out there who will give play-by-play.

Nothing to add to 4 or 5, so I'll move on.

Sheamus was interviewed about his current run at the WrestleMania 29 press conference. Good little listen. Am I the only one who remembers what he did on the ECW brand?

Zack Ryder posted the anniversary edition of Z! True Long Island Story. Though I guess if you're WWE, it's the 2nd anniversary. That Saved By The Bell montage was pretty badass. I liked the Broski slippers. Great promos as always from Ziggler. Hawkins was good, too. Fun cameo from the former John Morrison as well. This show's been a great platform for people to show what they can do as characters.

Triple H talked after the WM29 press conference. Interesting talk about how it's decided where Mania will be. I wonder what Kane, Mark Henry, Christian, Jericho, and Big Show think about being left out of the talk about "that era".

Finally, the 2/16 edition of Impact Wrestling got a 1.06 off of a PPV and with a celebrity appearance. This show featured Roode vs. Hardy for the World Title and Bully Ray vs. James Storm for the #1 Contendership, as well as appearances by Sting. Not good at all when all those things are factored in.

That's all for Friday's news. More to come today. Thanks for reading!
