WWE Elimination Chamber thoughts

Tonight's WWE's last PPV before WrestleMania, so we're getting closer to the biggest show of the year. Who will survive tonight's title matches and make it to the grandest stage of them all? C.M. Punk defends his WWE Championship against Chris Jericho, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, and The Miz, while Daniel Bryan must fend off Big Show, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, The Great Khali, and Santino Marella. One of these 12 men awaits Sheamus in Miami. Also tonight, John Cena confronts Kane in a match that can only end when one man is carted off in an ambulance. All that and more on tap. Read on for my thoughts on the show as t happens.

Punk and Kingston starting things off. I can get behind this. Got some WWECW memories.

Great work from these two early. Punk knows how to make an opponent look good.

Punk, Ziggler, and Kofi. Three guys who will hopefully be the stars of the company in due time.

Dangerous stuff here.

WOW. Some insane spots going on here.

All these guys are laying it all on the line.

They got a great group of workers for this match.

Punk and Jericho could steal the show tonight and at Mania if given the chance to do so.

This is simultaneously amazing, impressive, and terrifying. I'm really concerned for some of these guys if they keep upping the ante.

Fantastic story from everyone involved. Pure carnage. I hope everyone's ok after that.

Ok then.

Get ready for plenty of Cena/Rock packages.

Genius linking the Snuka/Piper feud to this. I guess we'll get a coconut at some point?

Good story early.

They're going all out with the sick bumps tonight. Very dangerous precedent.

Pretty damned impressive. I don't think many expected this level from them.

I'm guessing someone will take Santino out?

Why does WWE feel the need to do big returns without advance hype? They're leaving money on the table.

This is crazy. Two big returns people would have paid to see thrown out in one segment. Extremely short-sighted booking.

WWE's really throwing things at the wall at this point. So many ideas and performers that everything's becoming a clustermess.

What happened to the Big Show who trashed Theodore Long's office? This show is hurting my head.

At least maybe Big Show starting things off means he won't be Champion.

This was going pretty well until Show started being dominant.

Hahahahaha, so much for Khali. Given how slow he's been lately, that was probably for the best.

This is #$&@*@ crazy. Show's unstoppable.

About #*@&$*#@ time they pinned Show.

They're not going to be satisfied until someone gets killed tonight, are they?

Oh God, it's going to happen. Santino's going to win the title.

NO NO NO.

PHEW. I love Santino as a comedy guy, but that would have been too much for my tastes.

And of course, Bryan gets taken out as soon as he wins. WWE makes my head hurt sometimes.

What am I watching!!??? This show. I swear.

I get this terrible feeling we're going to get Laurinaitis vs. Long. Nothing says "we're doing a terrible job pushing some of our stars" like a match between non-wrestlers.

That was good while it lasted. Felt like a waste of time total. Why is the US Title going on after the WWE and World Titles?

They might as well end tonight with something spectacularly terrible to cap off a very questionable night.

And... yep... that was a match with people beating the crap out of each other.

I try not to be too negative, but this show wasn't for me. It did have some very big spots, though, and I give them credit for that.

That's all for a frustrating Elimination Chamber. I'll be back tomorrow for Raw. A news post wll be up later tonight. Thanks for reading!
