Former World Champion re-added to TNA roster, TNA Creative updates, Questions on Sting-WWE, wrestlers having creative input, the 2012 Rumble, and Kofi, Daniel Puder interview, what "Snicklefritz" is, another backstage TNA departure, TNA/Spike update, JR scouting, Bourne removed from Raw intro, Waltman to open wrestling school, Taz update, WM29 date/location made official, why NWA Champion believes he's not in WWE, and Sorensen released from the hospital

Jeff Jarrett has been added back to the TNA roster after his on-screen firing in 2011. I'm not sure what, if anything, this is foreshadowing. He was taken off of TV in anticipation of the Ring Ka King tapings in India, which concluded late last month. Notably, Karen Jarrett wasn't added back. I've been really entertained by Jarrett's latest egotistical heel run, so I'm ok with him coming back provided that the focus of the company long-term is still the younger stars.

TNA sources indicate that Vince Russo was released from his position as writer. Dave Lagana offered creative input and feedback at the most recent TV tapings, and is expected to "take Russo's place" of writing the shows' scripts along with Matt Conway. Bruce Prichard remains head of Creative.

On to Wednesday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I wouldn't rule out one big match, but at the same time I wouldn't say that it's likely. According to him, he's gotten pretty close to going there.

2. Pretty much what they said, though I think that if someone's kind of "slipping under the radar" like DiBiase and Ryder were they might get leeway to do more of what they want since the higher-ups on Creative aren't focused on what they're doing. Whoever puts together NXT and Superstars cares more about the lower-card talent than the people who do Raw, Smackdown, and PPVs. Then again, they can justify that because a lot of people don't watch those shows. It can also be said that there are "tiers" of talent. Kane might have trouble with Cena, but Zack Ryder's not as formidable of an opponent. It's something like a more complicated version of rock-paper-scissors.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news and questions, starting with criticisms of Zack Ryder's character direction.

3. To say that the people who have been writing TV shows for DECADES don't know about the effects of presenting characters is pretty ridiculous. Here's why I don't really care for the story: Zack Ryder spent months gaining traction as the light-hearted comedic babyface living his dream, and now he's really angry. He was the "outsider" underdog who wasn't "made by the WWE machine" and now he's linked to the epitomes of the WWE establishment- Cena and Eve. He's not the same character he used to be, and it's not as enjoyable as a result. BUT, if the story ends with him getting a bigger push, I can live with it given how hard he's worked to get the crowd behind him.

4. More terrible analysis. I haven't seen all of the Rumbles, so I don't think I'd be qualified to give a good answer on which is the worst. As for their claim that only one younger guy got pushed: The Miz lasted over 45 minutes. Cody Rhodes lasted over 40, and got 6 eliminations (including Hall of Famers and former World Champions).  Kofi Kingston lasted about 18 minutes and got the handstand spot. Dolph Ziggler lasted almost 20 minutes after a WWE Title match, and got some eliminations in his own right. Heck, even Santino got a rub from working with Foley. They're technically right about Kharma, since she's not a younger "guy". I'm starting to think they just decide beforehand to bash something, and sweep inconvenient facts under the rug.

5. They presumably didn't think he was ready for that big of a push, though he got pretty good reactions for that angle. Hopefully the time improving his game in the midcard and tag team division will pan out in his favor as time goes on.

"Million Dollar" Tough Enough winner Daniel Puder gave an interview on WWE, TNA, MMA, and more. I think an angle with him in TNA would be interesting, but I don't know how good of an idea it would be. Do enough people remember him for it to be worth the money and TV time that would be invested? It has been 7 years since he was on national TV for a wrestling promotion.

The name "Snicklefritz", dropped by C.M. Punk on Raw, was apparently an inside reference between Punk and Cliff Compton. He definitely likes to slip in references.

Vince Russo's son Will resigned from his production job in TNA after his father's TNA departure.

The president of SpikeTV threw a party for TNA after Monday's Impact Wrestling tapings. The deal between the two sides could be set to expire in the fall, so this was seen as a good sign for the future.

Jim Ross will be scouting talent on behalf of WWE at the Oklahoma State/Oklahoma University wrestling event on 2/16. Good to know. Hopefully there's another Jack Swagger out there.

Evan Bourne is no longer featured on the intro to Raw as of Monday. That doesn't look good for the status of what was once a pretty promising superstar.

Sean Waltman is in the process of opening a wrestling school in Florida. That could be good. Hypothetically, the more places to learn the better.

Taz was not at this week's Impact Wrestling tapings following the loss of his brother-in-law. However, he and Mike Tenay dubbed over the episodes in Nashville. It's not easy to bounce back after something like that.

WrestleMania 29 has been officially set for 4/7/13 in East Rutherford, NJ. The logo for the event indicates that New York City will also play a part in the festivities (likely AXXESS).

Adam Pearce, NWA World Champion, was interviewed. He stated that he felt that he would be in FCW if not for his age (33). That could have something to do with it, though that's by no means "too old" to make it in the company.

Jesse Sorensen, amazingly, has been cleared for release from the hospital and is back home continuing his recovery. I hope that was the right move for his long-term health.

That's all for Wednesday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
