Interview with J. Jordan, Titus press, yet another podcast, NFL name at Impact HQ, Impact preview, more on Impact-NOAH, U.S. Title match set for MSG, more on Mae Young Classic, ROH tryouts coming, ROH shows Smackdown main event (kind of), Raw audience, Hardys updates, Smackdown dark matches, another WWE-Japan date, and Questions on ending a match during commercial, the Power Plant vs. the WWEPC, moving 205 Live, Raw's audience dropping, and booking Shinsuke

Jason Jordan promoted Friday's Smackdown live event:
- I really enjoy American Alpha and hope we see them more. With New Day in the mix now, it's going to be harder for them to get spotlight.

- Glad someone else made the Isaac Yankem joke first.

- Man, he could have ended up with a Knuckleball Schwartz or Brooklyn Brawler gimmick, too.

- I really hope Jordan and Gable go far. They're both very talented.

- Oh they can definitely have Angle "draft" those two to Raw and go for the obvious Haas/Benjamin comparison. They need to interact at some point.

Titus O'Neil got press for last month's TEDxUCLA talk. WWE looks highly on that, so he could be around a while as an ambassador if he doesn't have another awkward run-in with Vince.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts has started a new podcast, since everyone else is doing that now.

NFL's D'Angelo Williams visited Impact Wrestling HQ this week. They're using him for publicity going ahead.

This week's Impact will feature a "champions' summit" with Lashley, Alberto El Patron, and Bruce Prichard, as well as Low Ki vs. Caleb Konley.

Impact is still working on using NOAH talents on its events. There's some real logistic work involved there.

Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles for the United States Championship is official for WWE's July 7 Madison Square Garden show. Smackdown is off that night, so some of their names will be working the show.

The Mae Young Classic will debut on WWE Network the last week of August, with the second round coming the first week in September ahead of the finals going live on September 12. The tournament was going to be released on the service earlier, but WWE didn't want it to be overshadowed by Summerslam week.

ROH will have tryouts on July 8 and 9. Daniels and Kazarian might be the two most valuable employees ROH has right now as far as being able to perform at a high level in the ring and contribute to the company beyond that area of business.

ROH released a full Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura match ahead of them facing off on Smackdown. That's really clever. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more ROH alumni on WWE shows sooner rather than later.

Raw drew 2.99 million viewers after Extreme Rules, a nice boost from previous weeks. Brock will be back in the mix soon, so that should help things. We'll see how the WWE audience takes Samoa Joe as a main eventer.

The Hardys are getting some time off due to the upcoming birth of Matt's second son. They'll have something of a reduced schedule for the time being. So, that partially explains the surprise title change.

The Hardys were interviewed by Corey Graves in footage likely appearing on Bring It To The Table. I'd like to see them address the Anthem situation there.

Before Smackdown, Luke Harper, American Alpha & Tye Dillinger beat Erick Rowan, The Ascension & Aiden English in Harper's hometown. It's a shame he's not set for MITB yet.

WWE will run another show in Japan on September 16. I can see them further courting that market as time goes on.

Randy Orton beat Jinder Mahal by DQ after Smackdown ended. He then attacked the Singhs to close the taping. Glad they're protecting the champ.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Interesting idea! It's worth a try. You'd think someone would win during a commercial break every so often, right?

2. I can certainly see a comparison. I know some accused the Power Plant of just being a place to work people out until they puked, but WCW definitely used it to get people ready for the main roster.

3. They could, but how many main roster fans are going to show up early for cruiserweight matches? It definitely makes more sense to have it after Smackdown, when the entire crowd is there and can potentially stay for more wrestling.

4. It's possible, and I think there'd definitely be panic. I think there's a definite chance of Raw dropping back to two hours in 2019. I strongly doubt they'll lose their TV deal, though. People are seeing a general trend in fewer people wanting to watch TV the traditional way and blaming Vince instead of the sheer amount of wrestling content available now. Vince isn't the one who pushed for guys like Rollins, Balor, Joe, Owens, Styles, and Nakamura to be where they are now. If those names focusing on having good wrestling matches doesn't appeal to the older audience that will sit and watch WWE as it airs, there's not much he can do.

5. Uggggghhhhh. Some people just don't mark for the same wrestlers others clamor for. WWE often does let their talent go all out (to the extent they can with the grueling schedule), but most fans want more of the soap opera side of things. I do think we'll see more from Nakamura, though. They didn't want to give away EVERYTHING from him in the early going.

More wrestling tomorrow.
