Main Event Reax - 6/9/17, Hardys update, HoFer getting Network special, more on Trinidad-WWE, NXT preview, Cena press, Irish promotion not joining WWE Network after all, Russo/Cornette continues, NXT match stopped, Interviews with Lana/Aries, Impact audience, WWE double taping in September, NFL star-Impact update, Total Divas cast shakeup, and Questions on Mike Bucci, Crowbar's heel promo, NXT voiceovers, what WWE would have done with Impact, Tanaka to WWE, and ECW music rights

-- Main Event:
- Gulak promo:
We really need some new faces in this division and on this show. I like pretty much everyone on 205 Live, but OH MY GOD I'm already sick of most of them.

- Dorado vs. Gulak:
I like Gulak's mat skills.

Fine so far.

Basic psychology, but effective.

Good little story here.

I like that both men are getting to show what they're good at here.

Uh-oh. That knee's going to be trouble.

Fine for the time it had and the rushed ending.

- Hawkins vs. Bo:
I'm not really sure which man we're supposed to pull for here.

Fine basic stuff so far.

Both these guys are better as opponents to more varied opponents.

Fine psychology.

The Tree of Bo!!

Hawkins showing off all the cool stuff he saw on the indies.

Meh. Good enough.

Matt Hardy's second son was born late Thursday. The Hardys are getting some time off in order for him to be with his wife and new son. I wish their family the best in this exciting time.

Madusa/Alundra Blayze will be the subject of a WWE Network special at some point. WWE filmed footage of her working as a guest coach at the performance center.

WWE had been looking to sign Thea Trinidad since she was cast in The Rock's movie. There had been talk of using her with Andrade Almas for a while, which came to fruition on the most recent episode of NXT. I wish the former Rosita well there.

On the next episode of NXT:
- Authors of Pain in action
- Velveteen Dream vs. Raul Mendoza
- Ember Moon vs. Peyton Royce
- Asuka vs. Nikki Cross vs. Ruby Riot

John Cena was on the Today Show Friday. I could see him getting pretty regular press after his WWE career ends.

Ireland's Over The Top Wrestling has launched its own video-on-demand service. So, it doesn't look like it will be joining PROGRESS and ICW on the WWE Network. I hope they can be successful in that approach with everyone else trying to jump on with a bigger service.

Vince Russo and Jim Cornette are back at it, with Cornette offering $5,000 to fight Russo in a shoot and Russo responding with a heel "apology" promo. So, anyone hoping for the two sides to bury the hatchet instead of each other is going to have to keep waiting. I hope someday they do end their long-standing feud, but it looks like it's going to be milked for all its worth.

Asuka vs. Ruby Riot was stopped during an NXT live event due to Ruby being busted open. Hopefully she won't miss any ring time.

Lana talked to the New York Post about life before wrestling.

Austin Aries talked to USA Today. I do wonder what they'll do with him next, but I don't see him taking three months off or anything.

Impact Wrestling from India drew 318,000 viewers this week, so the change of venue seems to have made a positive change for viewership. I would like to see them do more shows out of the Impact Zone here and there, but it has to be worth the expense.

Raw and Smackdown will be taped back-to-back on September 11, as Raw will be heading to New Zealand/Australia and Smackdown will be going to Hawaii afterward. That's going to be a REALLY long day. They should either tape more of Main Event and 205 Live the week ahead or do some clip shows that week, because that's a really intense taping schedule to keep up.

NFL player DeAngelo Williams intends to return to football following his involvement with Impact Wrestling. He'll be Moose's partner in a tag match at Slammiversary.

Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax will replace Eva Marie on "Total Divas" next season. So, that franchise will continue and Eva is all-but-officially out the door.  Alexa and Nia should make a pretty fun duo there.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Simon Dean is legitimately one of my all-time favorite gimmicks. Nice trip down memory lane.

2. Wow. Heeling a dirtsheet writer AND playing off ECW to get attention for your indie show? I'd really like to see everyone involved move on from ECW, the nWo, etc. days and start making something new.

3. Pretty much both, as was said. Sometimes they need to add something late-breaking like footage from a live event taped later or an angle on Raw or Smackdown, so they'll add some further voiceover work.

4. I expect WWE would have signed some of the talents to NXT/WWE deals, but clearly "TNA" was just going to be something in the video library.

5. Tanaka's working out of Japan at the age of 44, so I don't see him being a big priority.

6. ECW would have sunk even sooner if they tried to pay for licensing rights!

More wrestling tomorrow.
