Smackdown name misses shows, historic venue fails to implode, Rock breaks world record, WK12 on AXS, Interview with former Simon Gotch, KOR loses mother to cancer, and Questions on WWF suing WCW over Nitro name, Taker's WM33 sendoff, Baszler in NXT, fans hating Brock vs. Roman, and WWE getting predictable

Harper left Smackdown's South American tour after Thursday's event due to his wife going into early labor. He is still booked for Tuesday's Smackdown taping as of this writing.

The home of Wrestlemania III was set to be imploded Sunday, but the detonation failed. That's the power of Hulkamania, brother! The 93,000 screaming Hulkamaniacs will never let that building come down.

Jim Ross is doing more book signings in the Northeast this week.

The Rock broke the world record for most cereal boxes in one place during a charity event for Puerto Rico. That's really great! I'm glad they did something that big for the area.

Wrestle Kingdom 12 will air on January 6 on AXS TV as a three-hour special. That could be a big night for NJPW's appeal in the U.S.

Simon Grimm, formerly Simon Gotch, discussed coming to ROH and more. Here are highlights:
- Yes, a lot of people who are friends on TV aren't necessarily friends behind-the-scenes.

- Wow. Grimm taking some shots at NXT there. The brand is very expensive to keep going with the upkeep of the performance center and the huge number of people under contract. Combine that with doing live events for people to get experience and you get some pretty heavy costs.

- Sin Cara has definitely had a number of spats backstage. With him being 40, I'm surprised he's been able to stay around given that fact.

Vince McMahon put over The Rock's Entertainment Weekly cover, which led to Rock shouting him out. Vince can get upset at Rock for going off-script, but there's also a lot of respect there.

Kyle O'Reilly's mother recently passed away from cancer. That's sad to hear. I hope he has success that would make her proud.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. WWF countered by changing "Monday Night Raw" to "Raw is War" and "War Zone." That was probably the right move, rather than spending a lot of time and money taking Billionaire Ted to court.

2. I think that was a great ending to his in-ring days, although I hope he announces he's headlining the Hall of Fame during Raw's 25th anniversary. If he's doing to be part of Wrestlemania 34, I'd have him be the special guest enforcer for Reigns vs. Lesnar, since both men defeated him at previous events. After the big sendoff he got at last year's show, I don't think he should wrestle again.

3. She's probably going to bypass NXT TV. I think they're going to save her in-ring appearances for really special occasions on the main roster, which is a smart move.

4. Oh, the Mania crowd is going to turn on the match from the get-go. They don't think Roman deserves that big of a push. I'd like to see Taker as special enforcer to combat some of that. As for Brock's future, he should definitely drop the title at Mania, and should take significant time away from the company. A lot of times they go through the motions with Brock, to the point where it's not special to see him because they're just in a holding pattern until Mania.

5. Any show that does that many hours of content in a week is going to get stale. There are only so many scenarios that can be booked, and once a fan has seen a lot of them, they "catch on" to what's going to happen the next time a similar setup occurs. NXT is a one-hour show each week, and there's a constant influx of new talent coming in and leaving there. Vince doesn't have the same luxuries HHH does as booker.

More wrestling tomorrow.
