Smackdown and 205 Live Reax - 1/9/18

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Smackdown and 205 Live.

-- Smackdown:
- AJ/Owens/Zayn/Shane/Bryan:
Definitely an interesting solution to this feud to do a handicap match.

Bryan seems to have made things a lot worse for Smackdown's main event scene.

Renee asking the tough questions here.

So, like, would Sami and Kevin share the title if they win?

Wow. Kind of a tough shot at the heavily-Christian AJ.

Kevin and Sami are having fun here. Good to see them used like that.

Interesting main event.

The intrigue continues.

- Becky promo:
That was pretty good.

- Becky vs. Ruby:
Becky showing Ruby how it's done.

Damn. Becky not intimidated in the slightest. She's taking the fight to Ruby.

Good to see Becky on a roll.

I'm liking this overall.

Solid work from Lynch.

Pretty good match!

- F. Files:
Good times.

Part of me really wants to see this cross over with the Woken Universe.

Pretty entertaining.

- B. Bros vs. Ascension:
Smart start from The Ascension.

Oh... well.... that didn't last long.

More good destruction. I'm BEGGING for them to face the Authors of Pain at some point.

- Post-match:
Pretty solid.

- Ryder vs. Mojo:
I like Mojo's aggression.

Ryder's still pretty solid.

Not bad to keep building Mojo. He definitely benefited from being in a team, but maybe he'll turn out alright.

- Post-match:
Mojo beating Roode would be insane.

- Jinder promo:
That wasn't bad at all.

- Gable/Benjamin/Bryan:
Heel turn time!

I'm not a big fan of them being heels, but I'm willing to give it a chance.

Ha. Heeling the ref. At least they won't book them to lose to two refs in a tag match or something.

Bryan's experience in the ring adds something new to being a manager character.

Their heel attitude is growing on me.

NICE setup for a two-out-of-three falls match.

- Orton/AJ/Shinsuke:
I don't think anyone's excited for Orton vs. AJ headlining WM34.

Wacky Shinsuke is becoming pretty forced. He's not really meshing with WWE as a character.

- R. Day promo:
I'm fine with Chad and Shelton turning if these two are faces. They're pretty funny.

- R. Day vs. Breezango:
Aiden and Rusev make an interesting duo in the ring.

I'm enjoying this so far.

Aiden's pretty solid.

Good to see this get a decent amount of time.

Surprising win.

- Bryan/Shane:
Uggghhhh.... these two feuding has really gotten tiresome. Surely someone else could have gotten some time here?

Shane really trying to force Bryan out.

If only WWE had a 25th amendment!

- AJ/Shinsuke/Orton vs. Owens/Zayn:
Good work so far.

Lots of kicks, punches, and stomps here.

Solid work from everyone.

Wow, Shane really micromanages things, huh?

This has gone pretty well.

Owens getting out of the unfair match by any way possible.

- Post-match:
Kevin's done with all of this.

Wow, Shane. Meddle more, why don't you?

- AJ/Shinsuke/Orton vs. Owens/Zayn (again):
Haha Zayn trying to get the hell out of there.

Sami's the sacrificial lamb here.

Pretty solid to move things forward.

-- 205 Live:
- Kalisto/Metalik/TJP:
Oh how I've missed Cocky Douche TJP.

- TJP vs. Metalik:
GM's flash is unreal.

Good to see Gran back. He feels fresher after time off.

TJP is a really talented wrestler. Wow.

Both men really impressing here.

This is quite the match!

That was a really good stretch at the end.

- Post-match:
Come on, TJP. It's not like any of these matches mean anuthing!

- Enzo/Nese:
I missed the champ!!

This has been pretty good.

- Gallagher/Itami:
I like how motivated Jack is.

Itami has good intensity.

Not bad!

- Cedric/Goldust:
HAHAHA I'm glad Goldust was there to followup that really dull interview.

I'm very glad to see Goldust in the mix here. Can Heath Slater cross over next?

Good ending line.

- Enzo promo:
Amore consistently cracks me up.

- Nese vs. Cedric:
Nice back-and-forth start.

I like Nese looking to wear him down.

Both men are solid athletes, although Nese has more personality.

Nice counter to the Lumbar Check.

Pretty good work here.

I'm impressed by both men's work.

HAHAHA nice fakeout by Cedric.

- Post-match:
Good moment for the challenger here.

Nice segment overall.

More wrestling coming up.
