War Machine update, HoFer writing foreword for Dr. D, Hemme medical update, St. Louis historian hospitalized, more WWN seminars, Hawkins gets merch, NWA legend wishes happy new year, Enzo tries to invade Raw, another potential Impact live event site, WWE gummy vitamins, promotion for Monday's Raw, Titus honored, former women's champion joining WWE commentary, Smackdown guests, and Questions on Michael Cole's skills, Shane firing Sami and Kevin, Bagwell's WWF tenure (or lack thereof), the effects of WWE stopping being PG, and WWF rings vs. WCW's

Raymond Rowe is advertised for an Ohio independent show on January 19, so War Machine isn't headed to WWE just yet.

Bret Hart is writing the foreword to Dr. D's upcoming autobiography. That's appropriate as both men took wrestling very seriously.

Christy Hemme has spent time in a medical facility after facing complications regarding going into early labor with quadruplets. Wishing that family the best.

St. Louis wrestling historian Larry Matysik has been hospitalized. I hope his stay is brief.

WWN has set a creative seminar for January 14 and a talent tryout on February 18. The latter is specifically promoted as a potential door to NXT.

Curt Hawkins now has a T-shirt commemorating his losing streak. That's amazing. Between having no merchandise and having one dedicated to being a jobber, I'm taking the one that means more royalties on my check. If I'm him, I'm volunteering to keep losing, since people are talking more about him for his massive losing streak than they have been in years. Either way, we'll see if he hits 200 straight losses as the shirt suggests. He's got 54 matches to go!

Austin Idol wished people a happy new year as only he can. I'm liking the old school feel to things; it's a nice contrast from other promotions.

Enzo Amore came to Raw after checking himself out of the emergency room, pushing for WWE to allow him to compete. WWE sent him back to his hotel. That's a gutsy move on his part.

Impact is considering running shows in California at some point in 2018. That would be a nice change of pace from Orlando and Ottawa.

WWE has released gummy vitamins at Giant Eagle stores in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, and Maryland. The gummies are also available online. In case your kids somehow need even more sugar.

The January 8 Raw is part of a promotion with other events at the venue. I wouldn't be shocked to see a WWE crossover at the NBA game.

Titus O'Neil is being honored for his community work. That's awesome! I'm always glad to see him promoting such charitable causes.

Beth Phoenix will be doing commentary for "Mixed Match Challenge" alongside Michael Cole and Corey Graves. Another accolade for women in WWE. Good to see it.

Rockstar Spud and Shayna Baszler were backstage at Smackdown. It's expected Spud will be joining 205 Live soon. I'm not sure how he'll fit in there, but I'm looking forward to seeing him again after his Impact work.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Yes, hardcore fans pile on Cole for Vince's direction of him and for replacing JR at the desk. I think to some degree people are starting to accept him in the sense they seem to be ragging on people like Saxton and Phillips more.

2. Shane could have gone above Stephanie's head to make sure no one in WWE could sign Owens and Zayn. WWE shouldn't have to spell every little thing out. If you're old enough to write to the dirtsheets, you're old enough to connect the dots.

3. While JR did make the call to not utilize him further, it was hardly an unpopular decision. WWE had a lot of potential new talent to utilize from WCW, and only some were judged to be worth the price.

4. NBCU ordered PG shows. Their current sponsors pay to advertise during PG shows. Stockholders have invested in a company doing PG shows. I think it could potentially have a bigger negative impact than the proposed XFL reboot, since at least that's independent of the main company.

5. I could picture Vince having bigger rings just to stick it to Dubya Cee Dubya.

More wrestling tomorrow.
