Impact Wrestling Reax - 5/17/16

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Impact Wrestling.
NICE start to the show. Lashley and Galloway have been built as two of the toughest guys in wrestling. I love the brawls they're having.

Jeff Hardy vs. Willow is ridiculous, but kind of fun in how crazy it is.

This Jeff/Willow promo is really out there. I'm sure Jeff and Billy Corgan think it's amazing, though.

- J. Hardy vs. Willow:
I got flashbacks to Jeff vs. Sting with this match. WAIT. What if Shadow Willow is also another Jeff Hardy, and THAT Jeff is the one who always got in trouble?

This is the craziest thing. If this is what makes it to TV, imagine all the ideas Jeff has that don't make it to this stage.

I like evil Matt making this really personal.

I wonder how they can really end the Matt/Jeff feud. They've been through a lot already, and I don't see why they'd stop a feud so personal unless they're forced to (TNA Management says they have to stay apart or something).

Well, they got to addressing Velvet leaving pretty abruptly. I'm glad we're seeing new faces in the Knockouts division. I could only sit through so many Beautiful People reunions.

I like the idea of making a lumberjack match so Lashley vs. Galloway doesn't spill out all over the Impact Zone.

- Velvet vs. Sienna:
What's the over/under for how long the Beautiful People are back in TNA? Velvet and Angelina have both been gone from the company before.

Sometimes a brawl is better when the people involved aren't known for incredible wrestling matches.

That was OK for the time it had. It made sense to give Sienna a big win over the leaving talent.

Blah blah blah Mike Bennett. He'd be even less remarkable if he wasn't married to Maria.

Bennett as a long-reigning World Champion is a frightening idea, and telling of where TNA is talent-wise in 2016.

TWO Bennett promos in one show!? That's two too many.

I'm not sure if it's funny or kind of sad Bennett has to call Hebner out since the other TNA Hall of Famers have bailed on the company.

TNA will probably be dead before Bennett goes into the Hall of Fame.

- Bennett vs. Hebner:
Hebner's automatically one of TNA's top babyfaces. He could be KOTM Champion by BFG.

Based Earl. I love that Bennett has trouble beating the referee.

I guess Bennett inherited EY's piledriver.

Good setup to EC3 vs. Tyrus.

- Tyrus vs. EC3:
I like Tyrus. He's fine as a bodyguard for a main eventer.

Conchairtos are scary looking spots.

EC3's a pretty strong worker. He's been a highlight of TNA these past few years.

This is a really enjoyable brawl.

Pretty big hardcore match. Good work from both men.

Way too much Mike Bennett on TV this week.

What big gimmick match can they set up between Matt and Jeff at Slammiversary?

- Lee/Everett vs. Edwards/DJ Z:
This is mostly going well.

That was pretty good, I think.

Bram could pretty believably kill Drake.

I like Eli trying to scheme his way to the title.

This segment's going a little long.

Bram's a scary guy. There aren't many businesses he's suited for, but beating the hell out of someone is something he's good at.

Matt vs. EC3 should be one hell of a war. They work together really well.

- Galloway vs. Lashley:
Oh this is fun already. Just an absolute war.

This is like two starving animals fighting for a meal. I'm enjoying the intensity of the fight.

Everyone beating the hell out of everyone is a staple of TNA at its best.

Talk about your Pier 6 brawl. Wild end to the show.

More wrestling coming up.
