Read on for my thoughts on last night's NXT and Main Event.
- NXT:
- B. Boyz promo:
This could be a fun duo for NXT.
- B. Boyz vs. Authors:
The Sihras are trying their best, but there's no stopping these two.
That was an all-out stomping.
- Matha vignette:
I'm glad they're selling this guy as someone worth paying attention to.
- Swann vs. Clark:
I miss the America tights, but I'm liking the Prince homage.
Clark already has more charisma in the ring than a lot of ROH wrestlers.
Good action so far. Swann has great moves and a natural connection to the crowd.
Impressive ending. Rich is someone to keep an eye on.
- Billie/Peyton/Liv:
That was fine enough to establish the new heel duo.
- Peyton vs. Kamela:
Nice move by Kamela to try to win once Peyton was getting cocky. Sometimes it's the little things that make a match good.
Peyton's definitely got experience and athleticism. I'm glad we're seeing her in action again.
Kamela's athletic background shows.
Solid ending. Good showing from the Venus Flytrap.
- Roode/Tye promo:
Roode's amazing. Tye's delivery and timing is really good, too.
Oh, man. Next week's going to be exciting given the spoilers about Sanity. Fun promo overall.
- Matha/Joe:
Oh you know Vince likes this guy.
Oh, well..... so much for seeing Matha debut. I like that he didn't back down from Joe, though.
Joe even made a silly line like that work because he's such a believable badass.
Joe's just going to destroy the entire future of NXT, eh? Hopefully he didn't destroy a bunch of people at the recent training camp.
- No Way/Swann promo:
That was pretty good. They complemented each other well.
- Sanity video:
I'm ready for Sanity next week. I think they'll be worth the wait.
- Cedric/Almas vs. Revival:
I'm liking the babyface team's fire and athleticism against the tried-and-true tag team strategies of the heels.
Nice teamwork from the challengers.
Funny of Almas to make Cedric do the big dive while he just posed in the ropes.
I love the tactics of The Revival.
Cedric's quite the athlete.
Clever double-team spots from the faces.
Solid match.
- Almas turns on Cedric:
There's the heel turn people have been wanting pretty much since Cien's debut. Works for me.
GOOD GAWD what a bump on the steps by Cedric.
- Main Event:
- Naomi vs. Natalya:
Nice back-and-forth to start. Naomi's doing well with the increased spotlight on her.
Nice strategy from Natalya.
That was a surprising ending. I enjoyed things before the sudden end. I'm sure we'll see them face off plenty in the future, though.
- Raw recaps:
Even on the show with Smackdown action, Raw has to go over. They should have recaps of Smackdown here.
- Slater/Rhyno vs. Ascension:
I like how the face teammates (Slayno?) play off each other. They've made a bond.
Good power game between Rhyno and Konnor. That's good in small doses.
Good work heading into break.
This is pretty solid. I'm liking how they're working against each other.
Viktor's somewhat underrated. The Ascension are having a good showing here.
A GORE out of nowhere is always fun. Especially when it's sold like death.
More wrestling tomorrow.
