Superstars Reax - 10/8/16, Sting-NYCC footage, cruiser making Raw debut Monday, Harper update, another lucha name working ROH, potential Network expansions including possibilities of NXT going live and streaming TNA/ROH content, and Questions on other Orndorffs, firing Sara Lee, the Grand Championship, Paige's future, and SMW fizzling

- Superstars:
- Darren vs. Jinder:
Very impressive back-and-forth early.

Solid straightforward wrestling.

Young always works hard in the ring. He's very dependable.

Nice ending sequence.

- Axel vs. Neville:
These two might as well have been drafted to Superstars.

More good straightforward wrestling.

Both men doing good stuff. I'm liking each man's strategy.

I continue to wonder if Neville would rather be doing more flips for a different company instead of doing the WWE style on Superstars.

Nice to try to avoid the Red Arrow.

Axel's a solid lower-level antagonist.

I like Neville's array of kicks.

That was a pretty good way to end things.

Here's a clip of Sting's surprise appearance at NYCC. I like the pairing of WWE and TMNT; the PG direction continues to boost the company.

Noam Dar is booked for Raw this week, so we'll presumably see him available as a regular going forward. I'm excited to see him and other international talents in action.

Sami Zayn defeated Luke Harper on a WWE live event in Peru, so that feud could be headed to Raw soon. I think that could be a good matchup to put the spotlight on both men's abilities.

Angel de Oro will work ROH live events soon, marking another luchadore competing there. Whether this is a temporary gig or a tryout for a bigger role will be seen as time goes on.

WWE is seeking feedback regarding multiple potential Network expansions. Among the ideas discussed:
- Making NXT a live weekly series. This would be a pretty big investment, as it would mean a lot more tapings for the brand. As such, this is being considered for a $14.99 tier.

- Streaming independent content, such as TNA or ROH. This would also be on the higher Network tier. That's a potential game changer for the entire industry. It would presumably be a case of buying the TNA library and/or licensing ROH's content while those companies remain independently operating. WWE could also do feature licensed content from, say, EVOLVE or PROGRESS. This is how important the Network is to the future of WWE; they're really trying to reach a wide paying audience.

- A $4.99 tier that only includes WWE's on-demand library and the Big Four PPVs. NXT wouldn't be available live. This tier would only be available on mobile devices.

- A free tier with limited access to the on-demand library. This would also include a live stream of what's airing on the Network.

-- All in all, WWE is moving forward in a big way with ideas related to the Network and the company's position in the industry.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. He could very well be Paul's brother. It'd be pretty carny for him to claim that if he wasn't.

2. I think she'd have a tough time proving they fired her because of her pregnancy instead of for not living up to their hopes in the ring, but there could be a case there if she looks to pursue it. Would it be worth all the time and money taking WWE to court, though?

3. In some ways the two titles aren't in direct competition given how the rules are different. I don't see them as equal, but it's different from the Grand Championship being a glorified "IC Title" kind of belt.

4. Not yet. It looks as though she'll have surgery before returning to the ring.

5. It had a brief run in a small area during a less-than-hot time period for the business. As such, it was eclipsed by promotions that changed the business for the '90s onward. I guess it's like a hair metal band coming along a few years before grunge became a popular thing: regardless of how good the content was, the times were changing.

More wrestling tomorrow.
