Raw Reax - 10/3/16

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Raw.

- Reigns/Lana/Rusev:
Amazing that no one in the huge Anao'i family has been U.S. Champion.

Reigns is definitely better when he's short and sweet on the mic.

Lana has a point about how Roman's behaved toward Mr. and Mrs. Rusev.

The same lame babyface banter Cena was using years ago...

WE FIGHT ON MONDAY NIGHTS MAGGLE!!

DAMN. Great counter to the Superman punch.

This is a war! I really like it.

NICE ending.

Oh, I spoke too soon. The fight continues.

I expect a real war inside HIAC. Both men can really bring a big brawl.

- TJP/Kendrick video:
That would have been good if it was longer. Each man could use more character to sink our respective teeth into. A large part of the Raw audience didn't watch the CWC.

- TJP vs. Kendrick:
Good fire from the champ early.

Pretty good back-and-forth to start. Kendrick's a good first feud for Perkins since Brian's been in WWE before and gets the style.

GOOD GAWD what a neckbreaker.

This is pretty solid.

Ugghhhh a finisher kickout.

NICE counter into a rollup.

WOW. They just beat the champ clean three weeks into his reign. That's just... wow.

- Rollins interview:
I like them acknowledging Rollins' wrongdoings. It's not like he's suddenly a babyface and all that is in the past.

Pretty solid promo so far.

I am all for Rollins vs. Owens inside HIAC. That could be hype.

- Silver promo:
Yeah, be careful with that "dreams come true in L.A." talk. Unless your dream's to work in a coffee shop.

- Braun vs. Silver:
At least Silver tried!

Strowman just killed that guy.

- Braun promo:
I'm guessing we're headed for Roman vs. Braun. That should go over REALLY well with the die-hards.

- Sasha/Bayley:
Headlining with Sasha vs. Charlotte is bold. It is a New Era, though, so that kind of thinking is appropriate.

We've got to end up with Sasha turning heel to face Bayley, right?

- JeriKO/New Day promo:
Owens just burying announcers and interviewers is great.

Fun stuff with Owens playing off Y2J.

I'm curious what Jericho does if he's not in the Universal Championship match at HIAC.

I'm liking the bragging by this duo.

Good setup for JeriKO vs. New Day.

I'm loving the List of Jericho.

Kevin Owens is even heeling on Booty-O's!!

The line about Kevin joking was funny.

That list is getting pretty long!

- Sheamus/Cesaro arrive:
That was OK, I guess.

- Titus promo:
Titus' push is kind of stalling. It doesn't feel like they have a big plan for him. That was good enough delivery, though.

- Titus vs. Zayn:
Sometimes when you get too flippy, you get punished by a more powerful wrestler.

I like Titus keeping Zayn from flying and wearing him down. Smart strategy.

Well, that didn't last long!

Looks like the Titus/Darren story has pretty much been dropped.

- Foley/Sheamus/Cesaro:
Man this is bad. I like them being forced to team, but the material here was brutal.

- Club promo:
These guys are bland as all get out as characters. "Guys who wrestled in Japan" is about as generic as "guys from Puerto Rico."

- Club vs. G. Truth:
I could believe The Club retiring these two next. Not that I don't like Goldust and Truth, but collectively they're older than Bubba and D-Von.

This is fine action, but hardly anything that makes me say Anderson and Gallows are a top tag team.

That was fine enough.

Good post-match to make a statement.

- JeriKO/guest star dweebs:
Oh man, this is BAD. Do people even care about Ashton and Danny in 2016?

Oh no... we have to see them again later in the show.

- Enzo/Cass shill segment:
Nothin' to see here folks.

- JeriKO vs. Big E/Xavier:
Fine stuff so far.

Good back-and-forth between the two sides.

I like the heel antics of JeriKO.

Pretty fun action as we go into break.

More good action. Good to see Woods in action here.

I'm definitely more excited to see Rollins than Ashton and Danny, who apparently have a Netflix series.

Jericho's still got.... IT in the ring.

Pretty fun overall. Both sides work together pretty well.

NICE post-match. I wouldn't be shocked to see a triple threat for the title at HIAC.

- Charlotte promo:
Really solid. The queen's reign continues.

- Swann promo:
HE'S HERE TO HAVE FUN MAGGLE RICH SWANN'S TWERKIN AH LOVE IT.

- Seth/Stephanie:
I like Rollins standing up to her.

Good work from THE MAN Seth Rollins.

Rollins is motivated. I like it.

- Nese peomo:
Tony Nese is one hell of an athlete with a lot of tools at his disposal. I'm glad he's getting a chance here.

- Nese vs. Swann:
Nice contrast between the two stars early.

Nese is incredible for his versatility.

Brutal kick from Nese. I like what he brings to the table. Swann's athleticism is also very smooth.

Swann can move.

I liked Nese countering the handspring. Why would you do that in the middle of a competition?

- Emmalina promo:
I guess she's getting some kind of model gimmick? Odd. Hopefully she gets to show what makes her so good in the ring.

- Cesaro/Sheamus vs. White/Carradine:
I'm OK with seeing these two squash people. It shows how strong and good they are.

That DDT spot was pretty crazy.

Fine for what it was.

- Charlotte/Sasha promo:
They're definitely selling this as something important.

- Charlotte/Dana/Bayley:
Bayley's definitely the odd woman out here.

I'm glad Bayley didn't just take the head pat.

- Charlotte vs. Sasha:
Nice for Charlotte to try to win right out of the gate.

Oh how I love suicide dive spots. Every match should have 50 of them. Just think how that would have improved Andre vs. Hogan.

Sasha takes a lot of punishment.

Nice strategy to attack the back.

Nice figure four counter. These two know each other really well. In hindsight, keeping these two on the same brand to continue their feud was smart. Split them up in 2017, though, so this doesn't get stale too soon.

Man, that was going so well, but I'm getting tired of finisher kickouts.

NICE counter to Charlotte's slap.

Clever ending. Really hard work by both ladies.

More wrestling coming up.
