WWE Q3 2016 Reax

Read on for thoughts on WWE's earnings release.

WWE released its financials from Q3 2016:
- Impressive increase in revenue. The Network is really stepping things up for them.

- International growth from the Network has been key. I hope that continues, as well as domestic growth.

- Ad revenue is one of the keys to WWE's success. Ratings can keep sinking and it won't matter much if people are still signing up to be on during WWE commercial breaks. It's a shame people overlook this to give an anti-WWE slant to their news.

- BIG goal for 2017. We'll see how they do. They keep succeeding despite all the predictions of things going south for them.

- North American revenue dropping is certainly concerning. It's good they're doing better outside of the U.S. to offset that. Growth in Asia and Latin America is particularly good to see.

- The loss in licensing is worth noting.

- Almost 1.5 million subscribers? WHOA.

- Doing more international tours with NXT will boost things.

- They're lucky people are paying more for tickets given the lower attendance for main roster events.

Here's a recap of the conference call:
- I assume Vince's talk about ratings has to do with international numbers of something because they're definitely not seeing twice the ratings for Smackdown in the U.S. compared to it being taped.

- The WWE brand is definitely still strong given the mainstream reach of ESPN, E!, etc. Cena in particular is really popular beyond the world of wrestling. I hope more of the NXT generation can break out and appeal to non-fans of wrestling.

- They're investing a lot into the Network. There's plenty there to be excited amount.

- Having "street teams" or whatever in local markets is a great idea to get people out to shows.

- WWE should be fine as far as cord-cutting and cord-nevers given what they're doing digitally.

- I really don't see WWE merging or anything while Vince is in charge. He's not the type to trust outsiders.

- Of course, people will still say WWE and NBCU have heat even with WWE saying things are great between them.

More wrestling coming up.
