WWE live event note, more on El Patron's injuries, TNA cancels taping, NXT name needs dental work, upcoming ROH matches, riot at WWE signing, more on Nese, and Questions on Taker threatening HBK, flak for TNA reporting, fake TNA news, Piper's book, Koko's whereabouts, and best venues

Bob Backlund is not on live events with Darren Young during the tour of South America. Young is teaming with Neville against Titus and Bo, so he's not in the spotlight enough on this loop to really "need" a manager, I guess. The former PTP are kind of stalling currently. WWE can't decide if they're still feuding or not.

Alberto El Patron is claiming Paige was also assaulted in the recent incident where El Patron ended up with a number of lacerations from a reported stabbing. Independent verification (beyond El Patron's statements) has so far been lacking, with no police reports or published news outlet stories of the incident.

- One statement by El Patron to MLW Radio differed greatly from the current story of El Patron and Paige being attacked by a "drunken, homeless man." The story passed on by that outlet, which has connections to Alberto, states El Patron was attacked after a car accident. There's no independent verification of this incident, either.

-- So, what exactly happened to Alberto (and possibly Paige) is somewhat up in the air, and this brings up the question of how WWE fits into the picture if one of their female superstars has been assaulted.

TNA canceled Thursday's TV taping due to Hurricane Matthew. It had previously been moved to an earlier time. The plan at the time the taping was canceled was to return to tapings on Saturday, then do two additional tapings Sunday. Hopefully the weather doesn't further negatively affect the schedule.

Patrick Clark chipped a tooth during the match with Rich Swann that aired on NXT this week. He had a Prince-esque outfit in the match, so that might be a more regular appearance for him.

At ROH's October 29 TV taping, The Addiction and Kamaitachi will face CMLL's Ultimo Guerrero, Okimura, and Hechiero as part of the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship tournament. So, The Addiction could get right back into holding a championship after the big loss at Ladder War.

ROH's November 20 event in the UK will feature:
- Young Bucks vs. Will Ospreay and Marty Scurll
- Adam Cole vs. Chris Sabin
- Jay Lethal vs. Alex Shelley
- reDRagon vs. The Briscoes
- ACH vs. Joe Hendry
- The Addiction vs. Delirious and Dalton Castle
- Donovan Dijak vs. Lio Rush

A Seth Rollins autograph signing in Chile turned into a riot. Man, talk about an unsafe worker.

Tony Nese is booked regularly for EVOLVE starting in November to play off his appearances in the cruiserweight division. He remains unsigned by WWE, but they intend to continue using him.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. That's a story that's certainly been around for quite a while, from a number of sources. HBK wasn't exactly well-liked backstage in those days.

2. Well, the only way he's able to report on what happened in the locker room meeting (or anything backstage in TNA) is people who were there give him details. So, they should be upset at those giving info out. If PWInsider didn't report it, someone else would.

3. It's a carny business, and someone's always trying to get clicks, regardless if a story is true or not. As long as people keep giving those outlets attention, they'll keep doing what they do.

Nothing to add to 4.

5. Not at all! It goes into road stories from Piper about the business, etc.

6. He still does his thing here and there. Unfortunately, the original Frankie is no longer with us.

7. Hammerstein Ballroom? It depends on what you want in a venue. There are factors such as an intimate feel, history, good seats, and so on.

More wrestling tomorrow.
