Raw Reax - 11/14/16

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Raw.

- Steph/Mick:
Now that Shane's back, can Stephanie take a hiatus like he did? I've seen more than enough of her in recent years.

Blah blah blah Raw is better blah blah.

Mick at least did a good job of putting talent over.

At least this segment set some matches up tonight.

OH MY HOW WILL THEY EVER GET ALONG???

- Owens/Reigns vs. Cesaro/Sheamus:
Nice start. I like how Roman and Cesaro play off each other.

I'm liking the Cesaro/Sheamus combination in the ring at least.

Good story being told by both sides here.

Fun plancha spot.

I can't be the only one who thinks Cesaro relies too much on European uppercuts.

Owens mocking Reigns is great.

I wouldn't mind Sheamus and Cesaro as champions, but New Day is destined to surpass Demolition.

This is pretty solid.

HAHAHAHAHA good ending.

- Rollins/Braun/Y2J:
Jericho's still pretty entertaining.

Well that was weird. I do wonder how much more they can get out of Chris' current character.

- Bo vs. Zayn:
At least this match has something of a story leading into it.

Sami is just unbelievably smooth.

That was good to build the No. 1 Contender to the IC Title.

- Sami promo:
Ehhhhhhh. That didn't hit the mark for me.

- Kendrick addresses the cruisers:
I like Brian as the "messiah complex" guy of the division.

Well that didn't go so well. I'm surprised they didn't jump him. Although, why should they really care which show they're on? I don't see why anyone there would dislike Shane or Bryan.

- New Day:
I loved the blatant shilling. Almost DX 2006 level.

- New Day vs. Y2J/Seth/Braun:
Nice start.

This is pretty entertaining.

The teamwork from New Day is always on point.

Strowman's something of a guilt pleasure, but he's pretty fun to watch.

More pretty good work. Braun adds something different to the equation.

GOOD GOD WHAT A BACK DROP.

That was good.

- Post-match:
I expect Y2J vs. Rollins at Roadblock.

- Steph/Mick/Heyman:
DOH HOH HOH HEYMAN'S FAT.

That was OK, I guess.

- Charlotte/Sasha:
As great as these two are together, I hope one of them goes to Smackdown in 2017 in order to give their feud a break.

The build of Charlotte continues.

- Kendrick vs. Cara:
Brian losing here would be baffling.

I like ruthless veteran Kendrick a lot. This makes up for his embarrassing TNA run.

This is enjoyable. Nice to see something other than flips.

OH MAN. Missing a suicide dive always looks BRUTAL. Heck, a lot of times hitting it looks brutal.

I'm liking this! Kendrick brings something different to the division.

That was pretty solid.

- Enzo/Cass/Club:
Blah blah blah everybody get along blah blah.

- Brock/Goldberg:
Interesting they're not ending the show with this. That does make sense if neither man will be around going forward.

Bill getting right down to business.

Heyman is a maestro at getting the crowd to react.

I like Heyman insisting security is there to protect Bill.

I'm really curious what the future holds for Taker as we get another mention of him.

This segment is almost all Heyman and Goldberg.

They're building this pretty well. I'm excited!

OH MAN Paul pushed the wrong button.

Hahaha security gave up. Love it.

- Sasha/Charlotte vs. Alicia/Nia:
I'll be glad when this "partners who don't get along" thing dies down a bit. It's getting old.

I enjoy Nia as a mastadon. I low-key want to see Nia and Braun get together.

This is pretty fun other than the same-old "partners not getting along" stuff.

That ended up being mostly good. I'm glad it wrapped up when it did, though.

- Post-match:
That was a pretty good segment all-around.

- Mick/JeriKO:
Everything's kind of spinning its tires because now it's all about Raw vs. Smackdown.

- Enzo/Cass promo:
Not one of their best, but OK. The Club are really bland as characters.

- Enzo/Cass/Club vs. S. Stars/G. Truth:
That wasn't a bad start. Pretty funny spot to go to break.

This is mostly fun.

I like Big Cass a lot. I don't know if he's Universal Champion level on his own, but he's got an upside.

Interesting. I guess Golden Truth don't get paid more for winning this match or otherwise just don't care about the result so they throw the Stars to the wolves.

Fine business overall.

- Raw vs. Smackdown segment:
Shane and Bryan shilling for Smackdown is great.

Oh God this is painful "our show's better" "nuh-uh!!!" Sibling rivalry in your forties is just odd.

They're cheering for Smackdown because both shows are WWE and the competition is more or less arbitrary.

I HATE this is more about the authority figures than the wrestlers.

Blah blah blah another McMahon feud.

Way to bury each other's world championships, idiots.

The Owens/AJ dynamic is pretty interesting. I like the nod to the disintegration of Y2AJ.

Umm, Jericho, you just had Ellsworth on your podcast.

REALLY cool between Braun and Bray.

Pretty crazy segment, but generally fun.

I love a wild brawl.

That was pretty cool overall.

More wrestling coming up.
