John "Zero Chill" Cena posted a picture of Kenny Omega on Instagram, adding to the speculation of Omega being WWE-bound. Omega is under NJPW contract through January 31, so he won't be able to work Royal Rumble. We could definitely see him the week after WM33, though, if he's interested.
Tommy End is now Aleister Black, and Big Damo O'Connor is now Killian Dain. That second name could use some work, but the first one is really good.
Batista appearing at Wizard World New Orleans was booked through WWE. Interesting. I wouldn't assume that means he's coming back or anything, but the two sides do have a working relationship.
Tye Dillinger marked 15 years in the wrestling business. That's dedication.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. JBL has definitely been successful enough to go into the Hall of Fame. It could be a case of WWE knowing he's not going anywhere, so there's plenty of time to induct him. I'm sure he'll get in at some point as he continues his career.
2. Because the main roster needs lower-card performers as well as people getting pushed. Someone's got to be in the opening matches, fill out space on live events, etc.
3. I doubt anyone books with that in mind; there are a lot of other things to "get over" during a Rumble match than who draws No. 14. People just like to look for patterns.
4. Brock and Goldberg already have the big monster spots, with Braun potentially joining them. Joe could easily get lost in the shuffle there. I definitely think they'll need to do more with Joe than assuming the crowd knows him from his earlier work. I'm OK with him coming up right after the Rumble IF they establish why the audience at large should care about him now that he's "in the big leagues." Show him destroying people in NXT, people discussing his accolades, etc.
5. I assume Carmella's using him for some reason or another. That reason could just be she's a jerk.
