Eva update, Hoyt out hurt, Lawler appearance, Interviews with DDP/HTM, new Impact producer, another Foley memoir out soon, Kickoff match set, Impact audience, Impact tapings official, another Legends with JBL this week, even more Smackdown on the Network, WWE hits Soundcloud, top name booked for MSG, and Questions on Rosa's absence, trademarked nicknames, who booked the last Nitro, and wrestlers with the same gimmick

Eva Marie is teasing big things for 2017. No mention of wrestling in there at all, and her hair is still its natural color. From the looks of things, she's pretty much going to wait out her WWE contract and see how far she can get in other endeavors. It certainly doesn't look like the company plans on using her anytime soon, so I don't blame her for building her own future. No word on her leaving WWE or her contract coming due or anything, so we'll have to wait and see how this plays out as time goes on.

Lance Hoyt will miss an undetermined amount of time due to a badly herniated disc. OUCH. I wish him the best in recovering.

Jerry Lawler will be part of a minor league baseball night in North Carolina on June 7. He remains under WWE contract, but can make appearances like that as he wishes.

DDP talked about a number of topics:
- It's expected Page will go into the WWE HoF soon. Well-deserved!

- Jericho and Goldust have definitely benefited from the workouts. They're still in great shape.

Honky Tonk Man talked wrestling's changes and more:
- It's definitely cool for fans to be able to check out older names on the Network. They might not be exposed to them otherwise.

- Rude could very well go in this year, which would be great.

- The important thing would be if HTM would be drawing money from owning the name Jake Roberts. I can see why people would be upset at that. Vince gets people under contract when trademarking their names; it's a deal where both sides benefit.

- A little surprising to see HTM put over people doing the video game style stuff.

Paredyse is working as a producer for Impact. He worked a One Night Only PPV as a cameo; we'll see if he ends up wrestling more regularly there.

Mick Foley will release a Christmas-themed memoir in October. So, he's continuing to write. Whether WWE will plug the piece and whether he'll still be on-screen when it's released remains to be seen given his impending surgery.

Mojo Rawley vs. Curt Hawkins is official for Elimination Chamber's Kickoff show. They have almost the entire Smackdown roster in matches that night.

Impact's audience this week was 252,000. Other than Thanksgiving, the two clip shows that ended 2016, and the time they had tech issues in June, that's the lowest audience number since March. There's not a ton of variation in the audience week after week, though. It's not like they were closing in on 400,000 a week or anything.

Impact Wrestling will have more tapings from March 2 through March 5. I'm a little surprised they're not taping more content during that stretch.

Legends with JBL will feature Jimmy Hart Tuesday at 3 p.m.

WWE Network is adding Smackdown episodes from 2010 and 2011. It's expected the entire run of the show will be available on the service by the end of March. It's unknown what classic content will be next on WWE's list to upload.

WWE.com now has a Soundcloud account. Good for them to expand to another platform to reach fans there.

Shane McMahon has been booked for Smackdown's March 13 live event in Madison Square Garden. I assume he'll have a non-wrestling role. There's talk of him competing at WM33, against either AJ Styles or Triple H (if Seth Rollins can't work the show).

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It's been a full year since she gave birth, and 22 months since she wrestled. Even JTG couldn't pull off being employed that long without being used!

2. Apparently Impact does still own the trademark. I don't expect them to sue or anything, though. They've got much bigger worries than what a former employee is doing.

3. Interestingly, the trademark is live for Dick Beyer. I don't see there being any issues, as I wouldn't expect anyone to confuse any of the wrestlers involved in advertisements, etc.

4. WWF booked it with an eye of which talents were going to soon be part of the Invasion.

5. Unless someone entered a market with another similarly named wrestler, I doubt anyone cared. Other territories were far enough out of the way it didn't really matter.

More wrestling tomorrow.
