Impact Wrestling name change update, Taijiri injury update, NXT preview, WWE Blu-rays update, more female WWE tryouts, JR book release date, NJPW site in English, Dreamer and Nash injured, AJ Lee on mental issues, Kelly leaves ROH, and Questions on HHH competing at WM33, Hardys working at other promotions, Y2J merch, finisher spam, and Taker's condition

Impact Wrestling is expected to be the company's official name going forward. Anthem will likely make an announcement to that effect at the next set of tapings. This is marketing move on Athem's end. Probably the right move as they more or less move into a new era.

Tajiri is expected back in the ring soon, so his injury wasn't too serious. That's good! I hope the last legs of his in-ring career are a success.

On Wednesday's NXT:
- Alexander Wolfe/Killian Dain vs. Bollywood Boyz
- Liv Morgan vs. Billie Kay
- The Revival vs. Heavy Machinery (Otis Dozovic/Tucker Knight)
- Eric Young/Alexander Wolfe/Killian Dain vs. Tye Dillinger/Roderick Strong/No Way Jose
-- Should be a pretty interesting episode given the use of Sanity. I'm curious to see what things will look like for NXT going into the next Takeover special.

WWE is scaling back on Blu-ray releases going forward. The transition to digital media continues.

WWE is having another set of tryouts for female talents, including Lei'D Tapa and Renee Michelle. It doesn't look like Tapa has done much since being used by TNA and GFW; I hope for her sake she's not rusty.

Jim Ross' autobiography will be released on October 2. I can't wait to read all the JR-isms. He's one of a kind and has left quite a legacy in the business.

NJPW has relaunched its English website. That's good as it continues to reach audiences beyond Japan.

Tommy Dreamer suffered a freak eye injury, severely scratching his cornea. He has pulled himself off upcoming international bookings as he recovers. That sounds REALLY painful, even for a guy with such a hardcore background.

AJ Lee disclosed being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, as well as her experiences writing her upcoming autobiography. I'm glad she feels comfortable in her skin now. Many with bipolar disorder struggle.

Kevin Nash suffered a shoulder injury and will require surgery. That's a shame; he looks to be in pretty good shape other than that.

Kevin Kelly has departed ROH. In addition to his commentary duties, he had recently taken a full-time position as a link between management and talent. It's expected Ian Riccaboni will take over his on-screen role. ROH's commentary team has absolutely been wiped out. They need someone to move to color commentary duty soon. Prince Nana would be my pick; retire him as a manager or whatever and put him there.

- Kelly will remain part of NJPW. It's speculated this was something of a case of choosing them over ROH. It will be particularly interesting to see what, if anything, this will mean for the structure of ROH given the role he had taken up behind-the-scenes.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. HHH is a top guy and he's able to compete at the top show of the year. Of course they should use him. Rollins (or Rollins' replacement) being able to hang with an all-time great means a lot for them and shows they can perform at a high level. Rollins will have plenty of chances to face Joe; there won't be nearly as many chances for someone to compete with HHH at Wrestlemania and learn from a guy with that much experience first-hand.

2. Theoretically it could hurt talents to lose to the Hardys, but coming up short to an iconic tag team that brings outside exposure and interest to the promotion is usually worth the exchange. This isn't losing to Honky Tonk Man at 64; the Hardys are a hot act that can still go. And TNA will plug those promotions in the sense of featuring a match for their titles on national TV. This could also help TNA in discovering talents/having working relationships with outside promotions.

3. WWE needs Jericho more than he needs them. If he wants to do his own podcast, have his own store, etc., they're not going to stop him because he brings a lot to the table for them.

4. Oh, yeah, I'm not a big fan of a lot of finisher kickouts either. But if Cena won with one or two AAs, "smarks" would complain even more about the booking not making him look strong enough. The bar has been really raised as to what makes someone a tough talent. It took 3 big AAs and an STF to beat Kevin Owens in the blowoff match, and people still complained. It's insane!

5. Taker got in, had a big moment or two, and got out. We probably won't see him in action again until Mania itself. He can only do so much after so many surgeries and the like, and that's becoming increasingly clear. But, if anyone can come back and be fine for WM34, it's him! He keeps on keeping on.

More wrestling tomorrow.
