NXT and ROH Reax - 2/8/17

-- NXT:
- Dain/Wolfe vs. B. Boyz:
Glad we're finally seeing this hoss in the ring.

Yeah, good luck with this one, Sihras.

Hahah Gurv's reaction.

I'm liking this a lot.

Dain doesn't even need a partner!!!

That was AWESOME!!!!!

- Post-match:
Nikki Cross is already a better promo than Eva Marie.

I'm all for another round of Tye vs. Eric. Dillinger reminds me a bit of post-Team Canada Eric Young as far as being a reliable hand who doesn't really move up the card but always does well in what is asked of him.

I wonder if Eric could get a stipulation match booked where Tye has to join Sanity if he loses.

- Billie vs. Liv:
I'm getting pretty worn out with seeing Liv. Ready for some new babyfaces to be in the mix while she sharpens up her game.

Billie's clearly the more comfortable, experienced worker here.

Nice work from the heel.

It's going to be bad if Morgan wins with both of them on-hand.

Not a bad ending to cover for how green Liv is. It's fine to pick up young prospects with no wrestling experience, but they probably shouldn't be on TV this much.

- Tye/Sanity/Strong/Jose:
Tye's promo wasn't bad before the big attack.

Dillinger messed with the wrong dudes.

Killian is quite the force. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.

Glad someone's coming to Tye's defense! He's a nice enough guy.

I like this babyface tandem well enough.

- Regal/Billie/Peyton:
Kind of weird that the UK title will be defended outside of the UK, but it's good to get these people some experience and exposure while plans are worked out for a regular UK series.

Yeah, Liv's probably going to call up Ember or Asuka to take care of these two. The better laugh while they can!!

- Shinsuke update:
I assume Nakamura will get his rematch the night before WM33.

- Revival vs. Machinery:
The former tag champs countering the size well early. Their technical skills will serve them well.

I like the power and size on display.

I'm liking what the faces are bringing.

Good work from the former champs. They're absolutely main roster ready; it's just a matter of when and how to debut them.

I'm impressed with how mobile the big guys are. Just don't do stupid cartwheels and bronco busters.

Good work outsmarting the hosses.

- Revival/Authors:
Hahaha they're still heeling the crowd after they voted for Revival as top team of 2016!

I'm liking this a whole bunch.

Yeah, good luck beating the Authors. They're even more dominant and dangerous than their opponents tonight. I did like this is a warmup match for Takeover, though.

I like the heels showing fear to the absolute forces of nature they're going up against.

And that's how you get an advantage! Revival up to their old tricks; they'll do anything to get those titles again.

- Bate video:
I hope Tyler does well. He's still really young.

- Roode promo:
He's having a blast and I don't blame him!

Bobby carries himself like a top guy. He could absolutely hold one of the main brands' titles.

I like Bobby putting Shinsuke's accomplishments over instead of treating him like some nobody.

Bobby definitely looks like a big deal for beating Shinsuke.

Great promo. He's ready, brother.

- Seven video:
Glad they're giving these UK guys some background instead of just throwing them out there cold.

- E. Young/Dain/Wolfe vs. Tye/Strong/Jose:
This is enjoyable. It's all out war in NXT!

I'm enjoying the contrast between the two sides.

Jose's someone to keep an eye on for the main roster in 2017.

Pretty fun work.

I love Sanity. I wish Ascension had gotten to do this.

Strong's absolutely got skills as a wrestler.

Hahahahaha Nikki not going to let her team go down like that.

Funny Cross/Tye spot.

Good ending. I hope we see more of Sanity ahead.

-- ROH:
- Announcing:
I'm more than OK with this as long as Colt keeps wrestling.

- Whitmer/Martinez vs. War Machine:
Now that's how you start a match!

I'd like War Machine more if they were more serious.

I like the pairing of BJ and Martinez alright so far.

War Machine dominating here. Damn.

The heels are pretty basic, but effective. Not everyone needs to do cutesy flips.

Speaking of cutesy moves, here's Hanson.

The former ROH tag champs would be a pretty solid team if they didn't goof off so much.

I don't blame BJ for going for a table!

Oh, wow. I'm a little surprised we actually got a count-out ending. Hopefully this leads to a bigger match.

- Post-match:
I'm mostly liking this so far.

- Kingdom vs. Bruiserweights/Agau:
Hollis and Skyler are really getting around! They've teamed in NXT, main roster WWE, Impact Wrestling, and now ROH!

Ha. The heels not wasting any time. Works for me. They're on a mission!

This is pretty wild already!

The Kingdom try way too hard, but they almost have to in order to stand out in 2017.

This is pretty crazy.

Fine for what it was.

- Taven/Castle/Boys/Cabana:
Haha. At least Castle has fun in all of this.

That was weird.

Commentary's going to be quite the issue, huh?

- Bucks vs. T. Boyz:
This is the wrestling equivalent of a stereotypical Michael Bay movie that's just a bunch of stunts and explosions.

"Just do ALL the spots, fam."

The Tempura Boyz are showing some potential, for sure.

Pretty impressive German suplexes, although that's one hell of a bump to take.

Yeah, the Boyz are getting a little indieriffic themselves.

Pretty crazy stuff from the champs.

Big ending.

- Post-match:
Well that was something. I hope we see more of Page as the Hangman going forward.

- Sabin vs. Dijak vs. Shelley vs. Rush vs. Gresham vs. White:
Ahh yes the "we don't have anything else for you to do so go out there and have a meaningless match" match.

Fine so far I suppose.

Rush works hard. Maybe with some more seasoning he'll be worth another run somewhere else.

I wish Dijak would squash these little guys.

"Hey we're opponents but we're usually teammates so let's just get our shit in."

Oh man. Just not really feeling MCMG as bland babyface flippy team No. 33.

Gresham has some good fire on display.

Pretty wild action here. Everything's spilled out of control.

And now more flips.

I hope Dijak ends up in NXT. He's out of place here and they're not using him well.

Rush has skill.

And now we're in for more crazy shenanigans!

OK... I guess the match wasn't that important to them, either.

I'm going to be mad if Lio wins.

That was a solid ending. Glad to see Donovan win.

- Backstage:
Lots of fighting going on tonight!! Things have really fallen apart without Nigel in charge, huh?

More wrestling coming up.
