Booker T. and Wade Barrett interviews, Questions on Kelly Kelly, Hulk Hogan, HBK's inductor and Cole vs. Lawler, Diesel, Abdullah The Butcher, and Ric Flair updates, Cena pulled from house show, Dixie talks Impact

WWE.com has an interview up with Booker T.. He says that if he returned to WWE it probably wouldn't be as a superstar, because "the young guys are really what it's all about." Having him as an announcer is "a great position for me to actually go out and make the young guys bigger stars". Booker T. is someone who GETS what wrestling is about, as evidenced by his quotes on what he's looking for in prospective Superstars and Divas on Tough Enough:

"What I’m looking for is showmanship, athleticism and how much do they really want to learn about this profession as opposed to thinking it’s something cool to be on television. People really don’t understand how hard it is and what it takes to be a WWE Superstar" He wants to teach that "the smallest things are what people are really looking for. They don’t even really see it; they just know that one guy was different than the next guy."

This is very important. A wrestler needs to stand out from the pack and sometimes it's the little things that are important in doing that. Take Tyson Kidd for instance. He could probably just go out there and do a bunch of flips and kicks that don't mean much of anything at the end of the day. Or as a heel, "rest holds" (submission moves) that are just filler between spots. Instead, he's yelling that he'll break his opponent's arm and that he wants the referee to ask his opponent if they're giving up (which Chris Jericho also did). His cocky, sinister attitude separates him from dozens of smaller heels and that's part of how he keeps his job.

Next up, an interview with Wade Barrett about WM27 rumors, Nexus, and his promos. And plenty more news stories.

Barrett is aware of the rumors of a match with The Undertaker in Atlanta, but it hasn't been proposed to him. Nothing's been organized at the moment. I think that match could work well for WWE and for Barrett. He credited WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes and his background in sales for his strong promo skills. Dusty certainly never looked "the part" of a wrestler, but was able to capture the attention of fans all the same. He also talked up Al Snow and Chris Jericho.

And here are the latest questions from PWInsider.com.. The first query is about the McIntyre-Kelly program, specifically on whether Kelly should be a couple with Trent then turn on him and become a big heel with Drew. That would be kind of cool, but I don't think that's where they're going. For one thing, McIntyre is softening a bit as a heel in this storyline it seems. I could be missing the mark, but I think they could be thinking of a face turn for McIntyre. Either way I'm interested in where this is going, and apparently a good number of fans are, too!

As for another question (there isn't anything to add to the 2nd one), I'd say it's pretty close to a sure thing that we'll see Hulk Hogan in TNA in 2011. Probably more often than some fans would like.

Yes, there's a chance for Bret Hart to induct Shawn Michaels into the Hall of Fame, but nothing's set in stone.

And yes, I see Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler at WrestleMania, if they can prevent them from going at it before then. Maybe Lawler can hit Cole and be replaced by Matt Striker for a while? Neither Cole nor Lawler should call WrestleMania if they're going to be in a match then, lest we have to hear one or both talk about their match during other matches. There's definitely money in the storyline.

Diesel as been added to WWE.com's Alumni section. I seem to remember RVD being put on that list after he made a surprise appearance in the Rumble last year, so don't read too much into it.

John Cena was pulled from a Raw house show in Minneapolis, and will be replaced by John Morrison.

Update: Cena was pulled so that he could be a part of a Super Bowl weekend promotional appearance for Gillette.

Dixie Carter says that the most recent edition of Impact was the 2nd-most watched in the show's history. That's very impressive.

Jim Ross reiterates that Abdullah The Butcher is on the "short list" for this year's Hall of Fame, especially because it will be in Abdullah's home town this year.

Ric Flair is owed a "considerable amount" of backpay by TNA, according to his long-time friend Mike Mooneyham. He's felt disrespected by the company not paying him that or the advance money that he's requested. He even threatened to sit out one tour date to show his displeasure. Mooneyham also disputed the stories about Flair "hitting up (TNA talent) for money" at bars. Multiple sources have told both PWTorch.com and PWInsider.com of that occurring.

That's all for Saturday's news. Sunday's will come late tonight.
