TNA Against All Odds preview

Read on for the third installment in "here's how I'd book an upcoming PPV".
Ok, I'll try to make this fairly painless.

Robbie E should win the #1 Contendership slot over the Bucks, because I don't really see any reason to have one of them win over the other. Going from here, the X-Division gets more focus with Kazarian, Lethal, Robbie E, Suicide, Douglas Williams and Brian Kendrick. And because it's already been teased a fair amount, the losses will eventually lead to Gen Me splitting up. To freshen up the tag team division a bit, and I can't believe I'm suggesting this, we should eventually get Chris Sabin and one of the Bucks against Alex Shelley and the other.

Mickie James should finally get the Knockouts Title from Madison after using her loaded glove against her. This should be a big enough match to where they can close the book on this feud for a while, and go back to Mickie vs. Tara, leading to a big cage rematch at Lockdown.

Samoa Joe vs. D'Angelo Dinero isn't really going anywhere right now. Here's another one that on one level I can't believe I'm suggesting: Pope wins because of interference by Okada getting a DQ. Joe's a jerkass, and shouldn't mind using Okada to try to punish Pope 2-on-1. The hard-to-believe part is that this should lead to D'Angelo Dinero joining the somewhat depleted ranks of Immortal. It will be easier for him to get mic and screen time as part of that group. He can then go on a tirade about how violent Joe is for the beatdown and so-on and so forth.

Rob Terry should surprise Scott Steiner with a power move to get the pin. I know the prospect of a Steiner-Terry match isn't exactly thrilling from an in-ring standpoint, but it's mainly from a "getting new talent over" standpoint. Gunner and Murphy should use the momentum from this to get a Tag Team Title shot. Again, Immortal's ranks are kind of thin now and there aren't many challengers for a babyface Beer Money.

Matt Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam is another feud that's not really going anywhere. Time to turn it up a bit. Matt should get a good attack on RVD here before the match (weapons involved) and get a tainted win. Since Jeff Hardy's status is a bit up in the air at the moment with the court case, this feud should go on a little while longer while we see where that's going. If he's available, I'd like to see RVD (FINALLY) get some revenge on Jeff at Lockdown. That loose thread's been hanging out there for a while, and the feud with Jeff seems to have been somewhat lost in the shuffle.

I'm under the impression that Bully Ray is facing Brother Devon AND (Nephews?) Terrence and Terrell. He should other lose and complain about the odds being unfair, or take out one of the sons for the win. I don't know the background of those two. They could theoretically become a tag team, but there really aren't any heels for them to face. Instead of the swerve of them working with Ray to take out Devon here, it'd be better for them to be upset that they got pulled into this feud and go heel that way. THEN maybe they can align with Ray after seeing "the light" that their dad was the weaker partner. But I don't know if TNA's thinking of them being a team or not.

Jeff Jarrett should get a tainted win over Kurt Angle to lead to the renewal of vows on the 3rd. There's really not much to continue in the feud if it goes the other way, and they're clearly interested in keeping this one going.

Finally, Mr. Anderson should retain in a hard-fought ladder match. I'm a little weary of having a lot of run-ins here, but could understand it. Particularly with Hernandez and Matt Morgan, adding fuel to the fire of their feud.

That's all for my thoughts in trying to book the sometimes tangled mess of TNA. We'll see what happens when it goes down tomorrow.
