Two WWE returns, a few FCW cuts, more from Jericho, Questions on Cena/Rock, bad gimmicks, Miz/Morrison/Rock, the Raw GM, and WM28, new TNA signing, Big Show DVD update, Foley, Steiner, and Jericho updates, more on the UWF, Stratus interview, Hall of Fame updates, and more on HHH vs. Taker

This story broke less than 5 minutes after the midnight news deadline last night: Evan Bourne is expected back in the ring by the end of the month. I'm guessing a MITB slot is his WrestleMania destiny.

Scott Armstrong was hired back by WWE as a referee. He worked last night's PPV.

WWE has cut developmental talents Kevin Hackman and Caylee Turner, the latter of which is Alicia Fox's sister. There are rumors of more cuts to be had.

Chris Jericho continues his string of good interviews here. I REALLY need to get back to my wrestling reading list.

After the break, I look at PWInsider.com's questions of the day and give my take on them. The first one is about the issue between The Rock and John Cena.

Their response pretty much covers why The Rock has reason to dislike John Cena. I don't know how much they actually do or don't dislike each other, because obviously they're going to be working together in a few weeks. To say that Cena should get more "receipts" is kind of immature in my book. I can see both sides to the issue, and am glad they're able to turn it into a storyline.

A correction on a previous questions: Someone wanted to know about talents who were UNable to overcome bad gimmicks. Some would say The Spirit Squad, though I think it got over well. However, other than the re-tooled Nicky, no one's been very successful after it.

Someone wants to know if The Rock helping John Morrison beat The Miz in a theoretical Mania match would be a big WrestleMania moment. It would be on one level just because it's The Rock's WrestleMania return, but I don't think Morrison's first big title win should be because of The Rock. That would be a great match that wouldn't need The Rock involved in any way, shape, or form in the ending.

No one seems to know when the Raw GM will be revealed or who it will be. Honestly, I don't see any reason to do it at this point. The GM's just a plot device to put matches together. It doesn't have to be any big name or anything. The anonymous GM reminds me of a character in "Death Note" who spoke to the FBI through a computer. But I digress. Just keep it anonymous until you have something better to do/someone who would add more to the show. Michael Cole wouldn't make sense, because the other announcers would notice him texting the computer. It's more interesting when it's unknown anyway.

I don't have any problem whatsoever with them announcing WM28 before WM27 takes place. In fact, it's pretty good synergy to announce it during WrestleMania season. The sooner the event is announced, and the hotter WWE is when it's announced, the more hype will go into it.

TNA has also signed Murphy to a deal. Not much of a shock there.

In the preview for WWE's Big Show DVD, Show addresses the infamous angle with Big Boss Man over the "death" of Big Show's father. That storyline was insane, and not in a good way. I'm not really surprised that Boss Man got death threats over it. If you thought the Vince McMahon fake death was tasteless, that easily surpassed it.

Mick Foley and Scott Steiner are both advertised for an upcoming TNA house show, with Steiner competing against Jeff Jarrett. I'm kind of surprised that they're going that route. Particularly with how little they're using Foley.

There are rumors that Chris Jericho could be on the next season of Dancing With The Stars. He was considered last year, but scheduling conflicts with Fozzy led him to turn it down. That'd be interesting. I'd rather see him in WWE though.

Update: Jericho has another interview up. He doesn't shoot down DWTS, but doesn't confirm it either. He does however confirm that he won't be back to WWE in the lead-up to WM27.

The Urban Wrestling Federation has a new press release here. I'm pretty interested in this project, even though I'm not a huge hip-hop fan. I don't expect it to compare with WWE or TNA (at least not right out of the box), but the idea has potential as something unique from those two products.

Trish Stratus has a nice interview with WWE.com following her return on Sunday.

PWInsider.com reports that WWE's "original Diva" Sunny will go into the Hall of Fame this year, which is pretty surprising given her past with Shawn Michaels. Other strong possibilities are Abdullah The Butcher and "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. With his son Scott being re-hired as a referee, that could be a big hint. I wonder if Road Dogg (his other son) will get to induct him too?

Triple H vs. The Undertaker is being built towards at WrestleMania (obviously). There are rumors that Shawn Michaels could be the special referee and/or that it will be a Streak vs. Career match. I don't think you need either of those stipulations with a match that big. What on earth do you top that with next year? Not to mention that if HHH loses, they can't do another feud with Sheamus unless he "comes out of retirement". Surely they're not going to forget who took him out for close to a year?

That's all the news for a pretty loaded Monday. More to come tomorrow.
