More live event notes, Rey update, Lawler wrestles, Hall of Famer does good deeds, Lilian sings, new NWA territory, announcer leaves WWE, meet TNA superstars, Interviews with Kenny King/Ziggler, Taker on HHH DVD, WWE 2K14 commentary, Midnight Express charity, TNA talents done, NXT talents on the road, Kane update, Smackdown main event, new PPV match official and Questions on liking the current WWE angle, HHH's DVD and Hogan/Bischoff

NXT's Bo Dallas retained his NXT Championship on Sunday with a win over Antonio Cesaro. No Zeb Colter or Jack Swagger with Cesaro due to recent tightening of WWE budgets.

Rey Mysterio appeared at Sunday's WWE live event, announcing that he will be returning to the ring for the upcoming tour of Mexico on 10/16. This could be a case of RVD going on (contracted) hiatus and Rey being his "replacement" due to RVD's part-time deal. On the live event, The Shield confronted Rey before Big Show made the save. Rey vs. The Shield could be pretty cool.

Hunico teamed with Camacho on this weekend's WWE live events. It looks like they might be getting primed to be put back in the swing of things. I'm generally always down for the roster being freshened up a bit.

Sami Zayn beat Jack Swagger once more on Sunday. I really hope to see him on the main roster sooner rather than later. I just fear that he'll get somewhat lost in the shuffle. Unfortunately, there are so many wrestlers and a relatively small amount of spots.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Jerry Lawler worked an indie show this weekend against Matt Striker. One of those two should be commentating in WWE right now. The other one is Jerry Lawler.

WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard does ministry work with prisoners. Awesome.

Lilian Garcia sang the national anthem at a recent Jets game. Note that this was the home of WrestleMania 29.

The NWA has opened a chapter in Greensboro, NC. That's pretty close to where I live (though I'm away at a college that's hours from there). If I was still regularly in the area, it'd be pretty cool to check out.

Tony Dawson has left WWE. He was a frequent part of NXT's commentary team. I'm sure it won't be too difficult to find someone else to work that role.

TNA has announced some of their performers for Bound For Glory's InterAction. No Styles, Sting, Hogan or Angle yet, though I imagine some of those names will be coming later.

Former TNA X-Division Champion Kenny King was interviewed.

Here's a preview for the upcoming Triple H DVD.

Chris Jericho talked about his famous feuds with HBK and C.M. Punk. The tattoo idea is pretty cool, but the alcoholism angle was really good as well.

Smackdown drew 2.6 million viewers, notably down from the previous week. That's disappointing given the big angle they're doing.

Kenny King was interviewed. Nothing really groundbreaking, but it's good that TNA's getting publicity.

The Undertaker talked out-of-character about the HHH/Stephanie relationship. Good little clip. That DVD will be very interesting.

Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore has begun as the newest trainer at WWE's Performance Center. I wonder how it went.

SI.com has commentary on the WrestleMania mode of WWE 2K14. I can see the argument that including Eddie would remind people of Benoit. They need a mode where you play as JR trying to keep control of that symposium. Yikes.

Here are details for a drive to pay for a hip replacement for an original member of the legendary Midnight Express.

Mickie James and Mr. Anderson have been officially removed from the Impact Wrestling roster, signalling an end to their TNA tenure (at least for now). I wonder how many talents will be left in the company by the end of the year. AJ Styles and Sting both have contracts coming up in the next few months and I don't think either man is guaranteed to stay.

None of the McMahon family is advertised for TV tapings following the show after Hell In A Cell (on 10/20). I'd be a little surprised if the story is over by then. The website just might not have been updated yet.

Bo Dallas, Sami Zayn and Booker T. (the latter as a special referee) have all been announced for WWE's tour of the UAE. I think that's a good sign for the NXT stars possibly coming to the main roster soon (or back to the main roster in Bo's case). I've enjoyed what I've seen of Zayn and Bo seems to be improving.

Kane has begun shooting "See No Evil 2", so he'll still be gone for a while.

Smackdown will be headlined by Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler. That's a big chance for both men. I hope this angle helps both guys get further in their careers.

C.M. Punk vs. Ryback is official for Battleground. Could be pretty good.

Here's an interview with Dolph Ziggler. I think he'd be a natural comedian.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. SSSHHHH!!!! Smarks aren't supposed to like anything! Especially when they can point out inconsistencies and when older stars are used! You're ruining the gimmick! Nah; I'm glad others enjoy it and not everything's super negative.

2. NO. It's really time to get over the PG rating thing. John Cena saying "poopy" is one thing, but we're still getting some really good stuff "in spite of" the PG rating. Excessive profanity and violence shouldn't make or break any angle. As for their complaints, I agree IF (<---- key word) the faces never prevail against the heels. HHH can stand toe-to-toe with Brock Lesnar whereas Vince was never a highly-decorated wrestler before becoming an authority figure. There's a big difference.

3. I cracked up at the line about HHH being old. I can see the argument the question poses, but I can agree with their point as well.

4. To me, it all depends on the story being told. The Title is just a (very important) tool to tell that story. I like the fact that they are treating it so importantly. I'd take that and short title reigns over a long reign that doesn't mean much.

5. Well, Dusty's still employed by WWE, so this won't happen anytime soon. He didn't exactly get rave reviews when he was booking things there last time. I'd definitely be willing to give him and JR a shot, but this is pretty much a pipe dream.

More wrestling tomorrow.
